    You've convinced me to give Stabilo another chance. I used a few different types of their pens and markers over the years and had all bad experiences with them so wrote them off. Thanks for all the great reviews!

      I like the Stabilo Worker.. the orange. It is great for use outdoor, I if drop the pen in nature I can easy find it again. (yes I have a special bag for use outdoor - with easy to find stuff... also a Victorinox with red scales (my only red).

    That Schneider is called the One Change, not to be confused with the Schneider One Business (tip like Uniball Air) and One Hybrid (needle or cone metal tip), which are not refillable. The Schneider Ray takes the standard refills.

    Would a roller ball that uses fountain pen ink be more compatible with a lubed ink (i.e.: Noodler's American Eel) to help keep the ball from wearing out?
    Where would one get the replacement tips? Do the tips come in various points (EF ,F, M, B)?
    Very interesting and informative video.

    I have a MV one touch, definitely a problematic pen, but it is serviceable. you've got to use a lubricated ink. Noodler's X-Feather works really well, as it's also a bit more viscous.
    I've never had any problems with my J Herbin.

    Have you seen the Yookers refillable felt tip pen that uses standard ink cartridges? You can also change the tips for different widths.

    Stabilo make a rollerball call the s'move thats aimed for helping kids write. I found them to be one of my favourite rollerball tips of all time. Very nice flowing.
    Unfortunately the ergonomic shape of the pen makes it hard for me to use it well. If they released the same cartridges in a body similar to these, I'd buy it straight away.
    Infact I might just design 3D print one at my work...

    What types of fountain pen ink should one avoid for refillable rollerballs that use FP ink? Any specific types of ink or brands or ingredients to watch out for?

  • @nullifye7816
    @nullifye7816 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The Schneider One, although you don't seem to like them, seem like the best solution - integrate the cartridge and the ball in one SMALL package, and replace both every time. The cost is that you can't use your own fountain pen inks, but it's better than buying those giant "refills" that are basically a pen in their own right. If they took off you could have cool-looking pen casings and a wide variety of cartridges. Ideally someone would come up with a way to just make that damn ball at the end changeable.

      I got the Schneider Breeze because it's the only rollerball I could find with an ergonomic shape. It's allot more comfortable if you need to do allot of writing.

    Hey Sal, I picked up an old pencil which looks to be an original Cross Classic mechanical pencil for a few bucks at a vintage store. The only problem is I can't figure out how to work the thing. It seems to have some sort of twist action for dispensing lead, but I can't figure out how to get any lead into the thing -- let alone come out of it. It's 0.9mm if that matters. Do you happen to know how to operate these pencils? I can get some photos if you'd like.

    Hi! I've just bought a stabilo be crazy rollerball and I was wondering... do you know if I need to wash the pen before changing the ink color? I don't know if sinking the pen in water will damage the tip or if I should just write on a piece of paper until the remaining ink will finish, thank you in advance and most importantly, thank you for letting me know these kind of pens!

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don’t need to wash it. If you do you won’t get one color bleeding into the other but you Definitely don’t have to
