My favorite moments from season 8 are Discord’s First Hearth’s Warming (The Best Gift Ever), Neighseigh’s revelation (School Raves part 2), and the Tree of Harmony’s Astrel Form of Twilight Sparkle (What Lies Beneath).
Like Discord's First Hearth's Warming and Neighsay's revelation too. But I also like the way Discord saved the day in Breakup Breakdown (if you guys get what I mean).

One of mine is Spitfire's " DRINKING THROUGH A STRAW " rant with Scootaloo in " The Washouts ". There was also another reference on " The Sound of Silence ". Autumn Breeze lives on what looks like Pride Rock of the Lion King and while she was singing " Let it Rain " that referenced the G1 My Little Pony intro. You just need to find that out yourselves.

9:44- I caught the Phantom reference and knew the poster was a reference to something, but COMPLETELY missed the Hamilton one! That episode/song was one of the best of the season! Loved it! Also, Autumn Breeze is adorable!
I love season 8! Because 1. The school was an amazing idea. 2. Maud’s boyfriend was hilarious. 3. fake it till you make it was also funny. 4. horse Play was amazing! 5. the parent map was adorable. 6. Big Mac and super bell continue their romantic journey. 7. Spike got wings! 8. Cozy glow was introduced. 9. The Mean 6 was downright hilarious. 10. The song in road to friendship was pretty enjoyable. 11. We saw lightning Dust again. 12. I liked how Rockhoof told those stories. 13. What Lies Beneath was also great. 14. I love the Kirin. And 15. Cozy glow was an amazing villain! There are so many reasons why Season 8 was great! It was also a fun season.
When Discord finally believes in Love. Also when spike said "I mean u don't tea with Fluttershy every week, because U like tea" basically I think this could mean in Season 9 that Discord and Fluttershy might start going out.
They've already fucked up literally everything else about the show, so it wouldn't surprise me if they decided to do that, too. Might as well shit on every good aspect of Lauren's ideas, instead of trying to write good stories.
@Alejandra Romina Go�i Correa Yes, I am already aware of that. But when Lauren was in charge, she gave the writers the beginning, a center point, and the ending, and they could fill in the rest. So each episode had a structure and a story that fit her ideas. She already had most of Season 2 planned out, and the writers were already doing it when she left. The people left in charge were the ones that *she* chose, so they respected her ideas and continued with them for the next couple seasons. But as the seasons went on, the original writers/directors that she chose started to leave, to be replaced by new people. Season 5 was the last season anyone from the original group was part of the show, and from then on the writers were entirely new. So they didn't care about Lauren's original vision. And since the producers and directors changed every season or so, there was no constant vision. That's why the writing started jumping around in quality, and the stories started contradicting previous episodes. There was nobody left that cared about the original show vision. They just wrote whatever they wanted, regardless whether it made sense or not.
I personally enjoyed “Road to Friendship,” “Surf and/or Turf,” and “Break-Up, Break Down.” Those were hilarious. Though Sounds of Silence topped them thanks to a new character singing a new song!
I fully agree with your choice for #1! I loved that one! It was also good to finally see a friendship quest again that paired up two of the Mane 6. I would have given another honorable mention to Starlight blasting Discord away.
My favorite story in the Hearths Warming episode was Yona's. Yaks were always painted as these brutish barbarians that only ever think about smashing, but then we have this story about the first time Yona's hair was braided. It was a remarkably heartfelt moment from a criminally underdeveloped race. Plus, I'm descended from the Norse people, so a bit of bias may be involved. YAKS BEST RACE!!!
No starlight sipping on her empathy cocoa when for a moment admires the deviousness of Cozy Glow's plan to help the CMC? That's best meme face of whole show
I thought that the comeback of Lightning Dust would be on the list but I understand because this season was incredible. Now I can't wait to see Season 9 and G5!
This season may be a little underrated, but I love the moments from #7 to #1. #7: She may be a nerd, but she still cute. #6: Get to see Fluttershy chaotic side. #5: The first Starlight & Trixie song singing together. Is my #1 season 8 best song #4: After watching the episode, I start think Chrysalis is the pony-verse Starscream. #3: Other great Spike episode. #2: A new generation of heroes is born. #1: Telling history with song is awesome along with other references. #4 season 8 best song in my opinion.

Season 9 is the ending for MLP FIM but not the end for MLP, the series may end but it’s just the beginning as a new movie, new toys, and possibly NEW series is on its way.
Incidentally, School Raze confirmed my headcanon. The school six channeled the elements of harmony to break out of the trap Starlight was caught in. ANY group of friends can channel the elements of harmony. Twilight and friends aren't special; they were just the first group to do it.
