There is nothing like having a space that is a sanctuary. Somewhere you look forward to being, somewhere you can retreat and relax after a long day and somewhere warm and welcoming for family and friends.
As I make a few changes to my own space I thought it could be both fun and helpful to share a few tips on turning your space into your own luxurious, feminine sanctuary.
What I love about these tips is that anyone can use them. Whether you have a mansion, just bought your first home, you’re sprucing up your apartment or you rent a bedroom with a bed and a nightstand to your name. There’s something in here for everyone!

Don’t underestimate decluttering, especially if you come from a household that always had random stuff! Its hard bc we work for the things we have, but get rid of it and take note of the things you donated or threw away so you don’t buy them again!
I know sweetheart... but what should I do .. I’m so much in love with some items I’m now using but it always has some memories attached to it ... that’s why I can’t even donate them or throw them ... some advice please ... 😖😖😖🥰🥰
Yes! Decluttering has such a huge impact. If you're attached to everything but feel cluttered, try using things "on rotation." Bring certain things out seasonally or for particularly months then store them and bring out the other things for the next season.
@@simonel2928 What I’ve noticed after living both in a packed home and a fairly new empty home (while away at college) is that my room tends to get cluttered when I’m stressed. Once I clear the room, I’m able to reset and think more clearly. Don’t let the items control you, but control your home. Even if you go on rotation w the items, be sure that everything has purpose and benefits YOUR environment. You got this! ☺️
I come from a family that had so much clutter in the home growing up, today in my 30's I cannot STAND clutter and I get rid of things every 2 - 3 months, I even declutter my wardrobe and my kids' wardrobes every few months. It just gives me so much peace.
@@simonel2928 find a nice way to display it. if you want to save it for your kids place the items in a box and put it out of sight so its neatly packed. Is it a favorite tshirt? Keep it and wear it. But have an organized closet so you actually get the chance to wear it.
Is it a coffee mug that you never use? Put it on a bookshelf and use it as decor. I have a box for cards people have gotten me. Hopefully some of these tips help!
Important tip! Don’t buy ugly stuff. Save your money for 1 or 2 nice luxury items at a time. You don’t have to buy everything at once. Save for the stuff you actually want. I throw stuff away everytime I move 😂 I bet I don’t throw away nothing else

Great tip! I practice this and try to apply it in all areas of life. Quality is key! Anything else is a waste of money, time, energy, effort, etc!

I would also add that curtains are a very nice decorative touch. A tip from a random lady in Home Goods is to add extra curtains to give it a luxe look. For example, my windows need 2 curtains. However, 4 curtains make it look luxe. There is also placement of the curtain rods to help elevate the look. I usually get my curtains from Target. I love the Opalhouse collection.

Yes, also, hang your curtains as close to the ceiling as possible. gives a longer, more elegant look. U may have to add fabric to the bottom so they come down to floor length. Install the rods about a foot wider on each side of the window, to give the effect of a larger window. U will also be able to draw back the curtains more fully to let in more light.
Wonderful video! 😊 Growing up, my family taught me that a home is one’s castle and sanctuary from the world (no matter finances or stage in life). I remember my grandmother organized her medication from a small crystal trinket dish because she disliked the prescription bottles. She said life can be ugly sometimes so we must find or create beauty ourselves.

I know catalogs and magazines may be a thing of the past, but I still love both! I’m a past subscriber of Neiman Marcus catalogs. I still have vintage home decor magazines which are great for redecorating and spicing things up! I love to pair old items with modern day ideas. For example, I can go back to a 1991 issue of Architectural Digest magazine from my collection and a current issue of my a store bought home decor magazine! The possibilities are endless and fun. 💗💕💖

I go to old thrift stores and will buy their old magazines from the 90s and early 2000s. I love the Victoria magazines from that era. They really went above and beyond.

I am in the process of decluttering and "staging my home" for ME! The kids are no excuse ladies, we have to train them how to respect our space. And I always have a scent going on somewhere in the house. As far as a tight budget, I've noticed that Dollar General has some cute decor items for the home and is very inexpensive. My favorite scent is from William- Sonoma.
This video inspired me to take a course on colour theory 😂. Currently, I'm working on creating a capsule wardrobe for winter as well as just decorating my tiny studio bit by bit so that I have a lovely space I can call home after a long day of studying. This video was the feminine inspiration I needed ❤️

For the people who don’t want to bother with real flowers and plants, I’d recommend dried flowers. There are really cute ones out there and you can look for and make your own cute bundles. Fake flowers and plants can really cheapen the space imo. People do notice that they’re fake
Dried flowers are a beautiful option and last quite a while! Silk flowers are quite lifelike until touched. A little more pricey than other artificial plants, but last forever! Thanks, Betty!
I agree. The only place I have an artificial flower, is a faux orchid in my home office. Our house rabbit has free roam in that room, and I don't want to risk her nibbling on any real plants (even dried ones) and becoming unwell. Faux orchids can look quite real, until you get up close. I can understand why people with pets choose fake plants, but real is nicer in the rooms where you can!
Not if you get the RIGHT fake flowers & plants! And this is coming from a big-time real plant parent, lol. The quality of fake ones has improved significantly. The store At Home has some really good larger ones, and even Five Below has some really cute, realistic looking ones in nice, trendy pots... for just $5, of course. The trick is to intersperse them and mix them in with the real ones so that you can't tell, LOL. (Trust me, if you were at my house you would not be able to tell! 😉)

I live at home so I only have my room (which I'm very grateful for). I'm very fortunate that my mum helped me give it a mini makeover. Every one jokes that it looks like a posh hotel room 🤣 🤣🤣
So I guess I'm on the right path. I've got a small white rug in front of my mirror. It's from amazon, quite inexpensive.
I'm really into hats, so I have an empty wall space where I've decoratively hung all my hats. It's also a great storage solution.
I also have USB chargeable spotlights stuck to my closet doors. So, the changing lights can give off a different ambiance.
My general theme is gray and white. With a pop of yellow in the middle just to brake it up a bit.
I'm thinking of removing the hat wall and putting a cute wallpaper for an accent wall. And maybe adding a chandelier.
I'm looking into fake plants (don't like real ones). I don't like fire so I won't be having candles anytime soon. Even though I'll admit they smell lovely. 🤣🤣🤣
The first tip I was like, "woah, just @ me next time" 🤣🤣🤣 I'm generally very clean and tidy. When I'm not it's usually because I'm feeling depressed. I'm working on making sure that doesn't happen often anymore.

In regard to the candles, while I love them, one of my sisters doesn't like the idea of a potential fire either. She introduced me to battery powered candles that you can control with a small remote...who knew. All the benefits of ambiance and decor, without the fire! I sold my home after a fire and moved into an apartment. Being alone for the first time in my adult life was so freeing. I love my children and grands but coming home too piece and quite was the best move I ever made.
I am still in the process of decorating my place the way I've always wanted to. I decided to go with a modern feminine look. Never thought I'd like pink or green until I saw a large print peel and stick wallpaper that just blew my mind. That started my journey. I've been able to decorate the entire apartment without paying full price for anything. I do my research on every piece and search for cheaper prices or do you guys to make it look like I wanted to. And the decluttering was the key. In fact today I'll be going to the storage unit for the last time with my children so they can take what they want and the rest will be donated. Coming from a large four bedroom house down to a small two-bedroom apartment was a little bit of shock but it freed my mind to finally get rid of things that have been in boxes for years. I'm old enough that my children can take what they want so I don't have to leave them anything. And I don't have any guilt about not harboring things that I don't need at this time in my life.
So sorry to hear about the fire. It sounds like you are getting such a fresh start, trying new things and experimenting with your decor and doing a few things that are just for you. And that's a beautiful thing. Happy decorating !🥂💕

I dont mind fake flowers , what i can do that gives the same vibes as the real florals is adding the essencial or scented oil to the faux petals . Got this idea back then when somebody gifted me fake flowers and a matching scent oil . The vibe and smell is just wow!

Wonderful video. Homegoods, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Homesense for everything suggested. Especially aesthetically pleasing candles. You don't have to spend a lot of money on candles as that's one of the cheapest things you can start with. And yes, decluttering alone can give your space a face lift. Begin to get rid of things that are not serving you. Trash it or give it to good will. ❤
I like to have beautiful things I love around me. Which means curating what I have but honoring a budget by going to estate sales and consignment shops. You'd be surprised what beautiful pieces are put out for the trash in wealthier neighborhoods
Would respectfully suggest avoiding air fresheners because they use formaldehyde, which is bad for your brain cells. And while fragrances are a source of joy to many, they can be life-threatening to asthmatics and trigger a host of unpleasant/painful reactions for those with allergies. I like to entertain and forego fragrances in my house so that all my guests are comfortable.

I missed you so much, so glad you are back. I loved this video because I am an interior designer and one of my favorite things in decor is the space itself. Great tip I learned is that mirrors, windows and lighting can Really change your space and make it bigger, so adding items like brass tables that have mirror tops under a chandelier can make the space look luxurious and majestic. My favorite scents for the home is definitely burning incense. It's really popular among Arabs in their homes, and many of us get incense holders that match the color palette of the room. It has such a beautiful smell and appearance, to see the subtle smoke flying around in the room is so magical.

Every video you've been posting is either exactly what I've needed to hear, or exactly in the space I am currently working on! I have become obsessed with having my home not only functional, but to feel GOOOOOOD to be in by myself, for my family, and for guests. My favorite scents right now are Mrs. Myers "fall scent" cleaning/disinfecting spray, and the Apple Cider scent by Glade. Candles are also amazing, but I have toddlers who are beyond curious about everything at this time lol. Love this video, Queen. Always the perfect addition to my self care routine.

One tip I would say is keep your storage system with the same color palette throughout the home, also color organize your clothes in your closet, it's something about that just adds a sense of peace when you open your closet. I would also say be patient, when creating your home because it could take months to find the pieces you want, it took me almost a year to find the right dining chairs, but when I did, they brought in just the right addition to my space. Don't skip on the little maintenance things in your home just like decluttering they can bring a sense of calm to your space as well.
For those that have pets, say a cat or a dog, organize their toys like a kid's room and even invest in a "pretty" litter box if it will be seen that way at least it adds to the decor.
Salted Coconut candles from Walmart burn well and smell so good! I can’t choose a different scent, it’s literally my fave.

Glam is my style , nothing like a place that is SO YOU And I don’t mean I’m pretending to be rich , but the style that makes you happy and gives you so much join. I’m in a new place almost a year , my husband decided to have “rights on the new place decor and furniture “ and now I’m miserable, living in a place THAT I LOVE so MUCH but The decor is NOT me , and I miss me so much , thankfully as I could I decor my room little by little in my style bringing my furniture back and decorate, is not completely how I wanted to cause he take access to one completely wall to put the tv , Xbox 🤦🏽♀️ , helmets , controls , all ugly guys stuff but I fix it with a white cube shelf and I turn it as a tv stand !😅 🤷🏽♀️
And around the house I just put beautiful flowers everywhere with beautiful jars , rugs, so that stands out and said my name .🤷🏽♀️little things that he didn’t even notice 🤨😏 Thankfully ALL my furniture was already white and Beige color so that makes it easy 😅

My kids have their games in the living room. I put all their controllers in a super cute basket I picked up at target. It helps keep them out of sight. And they have a place to put them back instead of just leaving them around.

I somehow forgot how much I love candles. I used to buy and use them all the time when I was younger. I purchased one last week after many years. I love using candles myself! I switch the scents based on the seasons. Bath and Body Works are my favorite. TJ Maxx/ Marshall's have a lot of nice candles at cheaper prices as well.

Luxury Mindset!
Oriental lilies are lovely, fragrant, and long lasting. I find them at Trader Joe's and Kroger, usually come in a bouquet of 3 stems. To aid the longevity (up to 3 weeks!):
Snip approximately an inch off the stem at a slant, place in a vase with a packet of plant food (usually included) in hot tap water. Around 10 DAYS later, pour that water out and repeat the process. You will enjoy the wonderful aroma throughout your home 💛
