From living at home with family to moving in, with her partner, for the first time, Victoria had a challenge of how they were going to decorate this apartment. Even before moving, they secured some items they knew would fit inside, such as their quirky bicycle table and comfortable Eames chair. From there, it took one picture on the wall to influence the rest of the style and decor in the apartment; all orange everything and very cozy. Though Victoria is known for "dilly dallying," she has taken her time in making this home unique theirs, even for their pup Teddy too.

Designing a room around a statement art piece is a very established way to decorate. I personally think it's the best way to decorate, but art is very important to me.
I totally agree, it means she's a lover of art unlike others who find art secondary to furniture.

This is hands down one of my favourite apartment therapy home tours I've ever seen. Victoria has done an incredible job playing with colour and making every room feel spacious and polished. Beautiful!

She really knows how to decorate and use space well. That is such a cute appartment.
TV could mimic the firebox I would try that even tho it covers part of the mantle assembly. Plus my neck likes it below eye level. Maybe the next size down for the TV so it would read as firebox size. This would really help with styling the fireplace😊

PS your wee garden outside is lovely to,sadly in my old house back home in Liverpool that grey wicker garden furniture would have been stolen out my gsrden..I ended up having to chain my garden bench up after a 6 ft Victorian reclaimed bench under my bedroom window was stolen when I was asleep lol .I don't live there anymore x

Great use of space. Creating an appealing and functional layout in a small room makes such a huge difference. People don't realize it's a skill that most people don't have. The average person would probably just throw the couch against the wall and call it a day
That sofa is really cool. I'm moving to the NYC area when I retire and downtown Jersey City is high on my list as it has such easy access to Lower Manhattan, the Village, Chelsea and Midtown.

Teddy is adorable! I also love your pumpkin-colored dress, which matches your apartment. My favorite part is how your entertainment cabinet goes perfectly with your checkered rug. Everything is warm and cozy.

The good stuff: nice color palette. Everything looks good together. Good use of storage. Everything has a place. Nice space planning though I still can’t figure out where they eat. The whole apt is light and warm.
The not so good stuff: Coco Chanel said before leaving a house to look in the mirror and take one accessory off. This apt could use that kind of edit. For example, *don’t* fill every space because yoy think “something is missing”. Maybe nothing is missing. Maybe the thing you have on the wall is the wrong size or shape. Don’t fill the area above it until you figure out why you feel something’s missing.
Empty space gives the viewer time to breathe. Yes, it’s all good but there can be too much of a good thing.
Finally I get to see how fluid your design and aesthetic to your apartment . It's like a dream for me watching this entire video. Super love it. My bff love it too esp it's her favorite color...orange. thank you for sharing this.. we're now inspired to be more creative in incorporating exactly the same aesthetic..🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

This is one of my favorite apartment tours. I love everything about it the gallery walls, the frames that she chose for the gallery wall, the bike table, the shelves with the books faux plants on it, the patio, Teddy & her personality. Oh, I love this apartment!❤ It's so bright and colorful and there's something to discover and look at in every corner! Even if some people in the comments find it to crowded, I think it is perfectly designed. I also own a lot of stuff and I am constantly trying my best to find storage and decor solutions to still make my tiny apartment look cozy. This video actually gave me a lot of ideas and inspiration.
I think decorating apartments is kind of an art in itself, especially when people have to work with a very limited amount of space.
I think they did a very great job. It looks cozy and inviting and they seem to be happy with their design choices. At the end of the day, they are the ones who live in that place, so the only thing that matters, is that they feel comfortable.

So, here’s the thing, one common theme I hear her saying is oh no there’s an empty space. She says it almost every other minute. She seems a little overwhelmed with empty spaces. I get it, she’s very young and it’s her first apartment;therefore, I respect her process with decorating and trying to justify her anxiety with empty space.
I think they have done a fabulous job working with such a tight space for two people. I just hope she watches the real world constructive criticism that is coming from many people from a diverse community, and doesn’t get so offended and just dismiss it.
Anyway, long story short, my advice would be to allow empty space to be there, so you can have room for living and adjustments that will be needed for future changes that life brings. I’m happy that she seems to allow her partner to have some opinions with the spacing of items. That’s very mature and respectful at such a young age. If you live with someone else, you must allow them to have their say in how the apartment will be used. If you don’t do that, then you are setting yourself up for a break up. I’m glad she seems very respectful to her partner. Loved the tour, thanks for sharing your home! ❤

It's a charming apartment, the only thing that I don't like are all of the fake flowers and plants. Otherwise, it's a warm inviting space.
