- The SU-57 in War Thunder is a Rank 9 Jet for the... hold up... wait a minute?! It's a Rank 1 Halftrack! :)
This SU-57 is an American half track truck that has the US 57mm cannon which means unlike the British 6 pounder gets APHE! With a 5 second reload and more punch than the 75mm or even the T-34's 76mm this thing is AMAZING!
The cannon is easy to aim because it's high velocity, it does great damage and there isn't many tanks that can shrug it off either. Overall, this is a great little truck with a lot of potential!
Just... don't look at that suspicious hole too long! :)

123rd try, please play the T-80 (light tank) or the T-28e. Both tanks are in USSR 2.3 br, you also have no videos on both tanks. The T-28E is foldered in with the T-28.

Uptier 4.3 jagdpanzer 38t can shoot almost anywhere with stock aphe also you Russians love spamming out t34’s

One of my favorites to play eons ago. Especially in higher BR
This thing was one of the many prototypes and proposals for the American TD branch, they went with the 75mm half-track instead and then M10s as soon as they got them.
Maybe enough of these were produced to ship to the Soviets under LendLease, they were hurting for equipment early in the war.
A friend used this vehicle and did extremely well so when I received a big discount I bought it. Promptly forgot I had it but you've reminded me so I'm guessing it's time :) After this video I'm assuming they'll be plenty more of them too.
After the last challenge I proposed a few months ago was seemingly to easy, here‘s a new one:
Get a nuke in the M22:
Take the king of the gremlins up to a late-WW2 BR like 6.3 / 6.7 (I don‘t like top tier as much), where you will face the German super heavy things, and do well enough to get - and, if possible, drop - a nuke. I think, this could be harder, but knowing you it probably isn‘t xD
Might be better with a Stuart as that can scout...

My favorite and what I think is the best is the German 75mm half track. It has the powerful version with 150mm of penetration at 3.0 and has really good pen
And used to cost about $1500 USD to purchase.

One of the first premiums I got - it ground through the low tier soviet tree really bloody well.
It’s a lend lease truck from the US to the soviets, hence why it’s in the soviet tree.
You should play the tiny ASU-57. Its actually pretty fun

I love this vehicle. I use it in the 3.7 lineup bc its fast and maneuverable and the reload makes it a BEAST against panzers. Has just enough pen to take on Stug’s as well. Love this thing

Hey oddbawz, I watched your channel for over a year before even trying warthunder myself. Thanks for making quality content that drove me to tryin the game. I main italy and would love to see you bring out the Italian C. 205 serie 1 the 3.7 Italian Fighter. Ive come to really like this plane despite its lack of 20 mm cannons or excessive amounts of .50 cal muntions. And if you like it could u recommend any other planes for me to try. *bonus points* if during ur explaination of the line up u briefly explain how to properly use it.
I think the best Half-Track is the M3 GMC, its basically a sherman 75 at 1.7, facing Panzer3 and BT`s

You should really try the SU-57B at 2.7. Its gun has 195mm of pen and drops off slowly and is very high velocity, making it really good at killing just about anything from range.

Hey oddbawz can you play the pvkv m/43 (1963) with a 260mm APDS and 150mm APHE with -15 depression all at 5.0. It’s not very versatile but it’s extremely good at what it does, play hull down.

The SU-57 is the American copy of the British 6 pdr in a US half-track built as a tank destroyer. The 75mm version is also a tank destroyer. At the time it was being produced the US dropped the half-track tank destroyers so all of the production except test vehicles went as Lend Lease to the USSR which created three, I think, anti-tank battalions with them. They were fairly successful although the Soviets didn't publish much on them, they not being made in the Soviet Union.😁

According to the tank encyclopedia, the SU-57 is a lend-lease US produced T48 GMC created by US for UK but mostly used by USSR as UK found it not good enough to deal with Tigers and Panthers.
It seems that the USSR tree is the right one for this vehicle. Maybe a future event vehicle for US or UK though...
Well, Panther's sides are 40mm - many things can do it, the "can do" attitude makes all the difference.
It makes some sense to put it in the Soviet tree since they were the only ones to actually use it, but the prototype version (T48 GMC) could go in the US tree at some point

the 57mm was a widely used cannon by the americans, but the only vehicle to feature it is one of the rarest vehicles in the game.
There were several tested prototype turrets with the 57mm that included use on the M18, M10, M8, T20 and M24. My personal favorite is the T57, sort of a cross between a T20 and an M18, but the fact that gaijin sleeps on adding more american 57 vehicles is a crime

BawZ if you havent played the Sweden Truck that killed you its broken. The anti armor shells can 1 tap just about any tank at its BR and I have taken it to 5.0 and still done well with it

Soviet because the wagon's were part of the Lend Lease scheme where the allies provided arms and armaments to the Russians in WWII, also the American 57mm was basically the British 6 Pounder anti-tank gun made under license, probably the Brit's best tank killer until the advent of the lethal 17 Pounder.

It's a British 6 pounder. The Americans entered the war with the obsolescent 37mm AT gun and needed a replacement PDQ. The British had the 6 pounder and the US put it into production for themselves. The 57mm is no more American than the Packard V-1650 Merlin.
