This goes to show the snobbery that young males go through bragging about their beer tastes. I have had similar experiences in my youth were peers severely talked down several beers or talking up a specific beer and when I tried them myself having a totally opposite experience. Now what also can come into play is that there’s people who absolutely despise pilsners (light beers) and absolute go for stout beers and or darker beers. Interesting video. I have had Coors too back in the 90s in the US and for a light beer it was pretty good.
Coors is quite a good lager for the price--it has a unique flavor. I rarely drink alcohol anymore, but when I do, this is my go-to beer if I don't feel like the rich, filling experience of Newcastle Brown Ale or Yuengling. Coors was not legally available in South Carolina when I was growing up--seeing the movie "Smokey and the Bandit" as a kid was my first exposure to Coors.
I'm going to be more open to beers in future. By the way Rob, my comment about Kelowna was aimed at one bar that offered $3 beer, it was terrible and my guess is they dumped any remains into a keg and charged for the small glasses they offered. I'm sure there's some very excellent Kelowna beers too. 😊

As I have gotten older I am open to much more because if you don't like something fine, never drink it again BUT you find some real great stuff as well. My only thing is I just cannot personally stand IPA's and Kelowna is known as an IPA town so it CAN be a little tough lol. And YES I am one who prefers a Stout or Porter these days, it is just a preference, light stuff just all taste the same TO ME, my sense of taste and smell has gotten very poor over the years so it takes something strong to even cut through and get my attention so yeah I prefer something strong with lots of body and flavors. As a teen / young adult believe me I drank anything and everything and would not touch say, a Guinness. Today I would take a Guinness over a Coors or Bud any day because to me Coors / Bud / Blue etc all just taste like nothing to me, lite tap water. I am not dissing those that enjoy it beleive me as it was my thing in my youth, perhaps if you reach a point where your taste and smell senses have become as dead as mine you will come to prefer the stronger more flavorful options, until then, enjoy it all lol.

For as much imported or craft beer that I drink, it is nice to have a good serviceable domestic beer that does not cost an arm and a leg. However, Coors is not a Heffeweizen. Heffeweizen is a top fermented beer and in most cases is not clear. They typically form a thick head. Coors is like a lager which means that it is a bottom fermented beer. This generally makes it clear with a thinner head and can have a whole spectrum of brown colors from amber to pale.
