The suit was faulty and crushed him, metal bars, and the endoskeleton is forced into his flesh, puncturing his lungs, making him drown in his own blood for minutes. He was moved to a new location after 30 years being in that suit.
I dont think he woke up 30 years later, iirc he was locked in the room for 30 years, then was discovered when the fazbear frights owner went to get animatronics from the og building but only found their parts, minus springtrap, which is how he finally got free.

I personally think that's one of his weaker songs, which is surprising considering how recent it is, and how great Modern Mythologies was. I think there are a lot of other songs better suited for people without much knowledge of his music like "Sweet Dreams", "Apocalypse State of Mind", "Our Little Horror Story", and "Stay Dead", because they're far less "stale" sounding and easier to digest than his others.
