How many are innocent but get killed because they don't have evidence, that's the question. It's just an unfair system and death sentences do nothing to stop crime.

@@Tracequaza I’m talking about the U.S. because that’s where I’m from. While minors can’t be charged with the death penalty, per the ruling of the Roper v. Simmons, minors in America _can_ still be tried as adults (the nuances of which are particular to each state). I interpreted the scene as not _specifically_ criticizing the death penalty, but rather the myriad of ways in which a child can still have their entire life ruined by the legal system. These would include issues of a broader scope- CPS, custody battles, juvie, criminal records, tried as adults, etc. Just calling the legal system what it is; broken.

This video is like one of those dreams you have that are so good, and when you wake up you instantly forget like 90% of what the dream was about. I love the overall vibe of Vewns animations, and how there is a secret meaning in pretty much every episode.

Not sure if you’ll ever read this, but thank you, vewn. Thank you for your art and animations.
I've been feeling down about my living situation, lack of a job, and general state of the world for the past several weeks, and the places I'd normally turn to for happy escapism weren't working as well as they used to.
Watching your videos has reminded me that it's okay to admit that the world sucks. Because sometimes, it is just comically unfair. Thank you for reminding me that I don’t have to act numb to it all the time. Lowkey I think these videos have helped me with trauma I didn’t even know I had.
    So yeah. Thanks.

i love your content in every way possible and especially the sound. this unnatural silence contrasting with overwhelming noize is something i find weird comfort in. it reminds me of museums of modern art where some artworks contain noize and some do not so you switch between silence and music/voises you dont fully understand as you explore the exhibition. i also love the tracks that you choose. i keep most of "twins in paradise" osts in my liked songs and am planning to find music from this cartoon too thank you so much, your work gives me an opportunity to feel sadness in the way i want to feel it. knowing that im supposed to be more simple and not exegerrate my negative feelings so i dont fall into them too much and keep fitting in the life i somehow chose...its making me feel empty and useless. but knowing that there is the whole another reality (even tho its cartoons) i resonate with and I'm allowed to feel sad in makes me happier.

I remember the first time I ever watched vewns videos and sending them to friends, starting with twins paradise, personally I like to watch the videos, over and over again and see all the different meaning that there could be, I specifically love the ones about bad kids, because it has strong meaning behind it that's not fully covered that you could relate to in the past, or see that happening now, it brings a certain peace to my inner child. The music choices to, I feel like are great, thank you for being one of my favorite TH-camrs.

  • @hoppingjack

identity seems to be a very important/reoccurring theme in the world of bad kids. not only was it foreshadowed in the very first seconds of the video but it seems to be something super enforced given the punishment (albeit it was chosen at random) was death.
something also i noticed were the guards all wear white masks, it could be for the sake of safety but also sorta dehumanize the government in a way, sorta saying how the government could be anyone or anything. again, identity being present.
even after the situation with escaping death row, roxy could never return to her old life, exactly how jazzy had said. basically the government is like held together by two pieces of string (not very different than the us government)

anybody notice the phone and screens she was looking at? maybe i’m thinking too deep, but they really remind me of what we see today, super overstimulating, multiple things at once and a dependence for help on it, hence the “self help wizard” and in the end, “i’m just a computer, what do you expect me to do?”
