    Nice. Thanks for sharing.
    I started using wood glue for holding cardboard layers together to make a bedside table with a bunch of customized sections to hold my headphones, tv remote, a stack of mini plastic drawers, etc..
    But, never would have thought of going beyond just lightly sticking layers together. That I could make it tougher.
    I started searching for strength tests of different glues to see if I was wasting wood glue on cardboard, where maybe regular elmers glue all or school glue would be enough.
    But now you're convincing me to go even further, and bringing more creative ideas to mind. :D

      Hey just wondering did you use some wheat paste for the cardboard like to cover the edges or somethin
      I've got a lot of cardboard at home I'd plan on make a diy drill caseing with it I just gotta figure out how I can make the cardboard get hard
      I tried pva glue with water I think I was just white Elmer's glue and I put water in the bottle of the glue and glued some cardboard together like 2 pieces I haven't tried it fully but is that what I'm supposed to use like Elmer's white glue with water and paint it on the cardboard do I need to paint it a few times again after it dries
      Rn I have card board but I'm trying to make a DIY drill caseing for my drill

    If you use the titebond to glue the cardboard layers together, it is just another layer of strength. Then, multiply that for however many layers your glueing together. It just adds multiple layers of rigid strength and stability. The spray glue won't give you any extra rigidity.

    • @abbylynn8872
      @abbylynn8872 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He used 3M spray adhesive to glue together the original layers of cardboard

    • @abbylynn8872
      @abbylynn8872 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He used the Titebond original in a 50:50 with water in spray bottle or squeeze bottle to seal the edges and boards together.
      Honestly, just use the titebond. Start with a 25 water to 75 glue solution is you are painting it on with a brush which is what I like. Then work your way down to 50 50 in a spray bottle it that's the method you want to use. I would add water a little at a time to thin it.
      I learned about this by accident when I used dollar tree wood glue to glue an Amazon box back together when i ran out of packing tape. That box was super sealed on the bottom and sturdy. Any wood glue will work, so I picked up a ton from the dollar tree before proces went up. I did not dilute the glue but was also pretty stingy with the glue ans it worked fine. I've used Elmer's white school glue. Works but not as well.
      If wanting water proofing seal the out side with Titebond 3. Check out the original paper mache channel. She makes masks and uses titebond 3 sealing with a layer of paper. I use brown shipping paper or newsprint paper from the hardware store for a clean look. Otherwise newspaper it is.

      ... if you can disassemble the display, get some epoxy resin, thin it out with some acetone, or something similar, that won't eat the cardboard. Cover all the surfaces with the epoxy mixture, Outdoors. Let it dry outside, when it cures, those panels will be as tuff as wood, and solid.
