I think CA property tax is 1% of purchase value with a 2% increase annually, due to prop 13 for residential properties. In essence, 2 neighbors next door to each other could have very different property tax bill..
Normally I would have dismissed this video as nonsense , however I can't. Waco made up its mind decades ago to grow and expand with the coming future. The infrastructure across the city is being rapidly improved. The downtown area has been revitalized via the Silos project. The city managers have lured in big companies such as Amazon which will be establishing a state of the art fulfillment center soon. Waco is on track to be the alternative to overcrowded Austin, to the chagrin of neighboring cities such as Temple.
@@HomeGuyWaco I would venture to say that Waco is truly bent on becoming the alternative to Austin. Tons of large companies are relocating to Texas and Waco is on track to get a sizable chunk of that action. Bringing Amazon to Waco was a great success story because it put Waco on the map and established its image as a major player and bonafide economic zone in central Texas. Anthony , nothing personal, but you sell your city a bit short. It has way more on the ball than you probably realize. Like they say - you aint seen nothin' yet. Waco will be growing like a weed.
Anothony what are your thoughts on magnolia silos and , chip and joanna gaines and how their business affects waco and the small businesses . I see and read both sides, good and bad.
With the building of McLane Stadium in 2014 there was talk of rejuvenating the downtown area with shops and dining establishments. The rise of Magnolia and all the tourists that they are bringing to town have sped this revitalization. The Gaineses have brought tourism and people to Waco who would have never thought about slowing down on their drive through Texas, let alone flown here as a destination. Many of the businesses that have popped up rely on the draw of Magnolia to survive. The other side of this equation is the feeling by the locals that the effect Magnolia has had is an increase in property taxes for the area. Higher rents because of the demand of the area. So, yes, I, too, see both sides of the equation and hear the positives and the negatives. But we really can't have one without the other here in Waco. If you want things to stay as they were without growth and old run-down conditions of the downtown area you can have that and stay stuck in the 1970s. Or you can get on board with the changes and realize that while rents and taxes may have gone up, the community as a whole is getting better and is a place where more industry and jobs are willing to take the chance to relocate.
Hello, we are planning on moving from Mesa AZ to Waco/Austin area. Could you recommend some areas on or around Waco/Austin that are single family with min. 1 acre? For under 160k?
I would be more than happy to send you some information about the areas between Waco and Austin with small acreage. Right now the market is pretty tight but more things become available after the new year. Send me a message via email and I'll be more than happy to send you some information. Anthony@homeguywaco.com
I’m in the same situation. Moving back to Texas from Phoenix at end of month. Be aware of high property taxes. I think average is about 1.8%. We wanted to get land 2+ acres in hill country, but are now looking around Waco.
We are looking to move to the area soon. We need a property that also has a a second unit on the property. is this something we might be able to find under $400,000?
Juanio, As with any city Waco is not without crime. I would ask you to do your research as to what areas or surrounding areas are best for your situation. Also here is the statistical info provided by the Waco PD www.waco-texas.com/police/police-crime-statistics.asp#gsc.tab=0
Really nice video, I’m from Brazil and I’m liking so much of your channel.

Can’t speak to need but people are moving here.
Are there any new homes in limestone county Springfield? And do any of the homes have storm rooms for tornados?

You won't have any trouble here.
California is not 12% property tax. 1.2% maybe, but typically less than 2%.
"48 times less" ???
% less is NOT the same as "times" less.
eg.: 10 x times less would be 1/10th
Can you move from small city to Waco w 5,000 1bedroom apt
Not sure I understand your question. $5000 dollars? 1 bedrooms are currently renting between $550 and $800 depending upon location.
5,000 dollars yes

Waco is one of the worst cities in Texas. It’s got Baylor and some good fast food, that’s about it
