I can't wait for Grime 2 to have a secret hardest difficulty option called something like "Allow Me To Thank You Properly" or "Okay. I'll Play", or even just "The Backlogs"
"The Backlogs" are actually going to be a whole new batch of areas, bosses, items and spells that you can only get to after beating the game on "ok, I'll play." Mode once then doing something specific in a portion of the game that forces you into the new areas. BUT the only way completing the new areas will count is if afterwards you finish the main game again and get the "Backlogs" ending.
Very, very few bosses give me that. But dreamborn terror, is one of those few. The demand for absolute mastery of the games base mechanics just oooohohohoh! The fun it was to finally defeat it.
that finale! The amount of "Is that really all you have to offer?" Only to see that new boss and give the ultimate form of, "Well then. Impress me." Loved seeing it!
Thee companies SHOULD be doing stuff for you. I’ve bought several games that I may have otherwise skipped, just because I saw you run it. You’re sort of their best advertisement
@@TheGameNerd13 there have been some games, this one in particular, where I had to go back to his videos just for some tips because I would get stuck. This game specifically is way tougher than he makes it look

its interesting how changing he boss movesets and having all your abilities changes their difficulty. bosses that took me several times to kill went down in one, whereas some of the ones i thought were easier really hammered me. the whispering mothers change makes it so much tougher cause its pure area denial and you HAVE to use absorb in the second phase. jumping is pretty much totally out cause of the rocks filling the air and fidus breaks apart even more...the dreamborn terror is a monster, and fun fact, each cycle you fight him he drops a new armour set, i think he has 7 colours, the red is my fave
"some of the ones I thought were easier really hammered me" I don't think this is that much of a surprise, if a boss is easy in the base game that means that there is a lot of room to up the difficulty, and they don't have to hold back because only people who've beaten the base game will ever encounter the upgraded version. The Inner bosses in Sekiro are similar (instead of NG+ they're only accessible via the boss gauntlets that are unlocked by finishing the game and beating all required bosses, so at least NG and NG+ required to unlock all 3 of them), the Inner version of the early game boss has a lot of changes that stop you from being able to bully him throughout the entire fight, while the Inner version of the final boss has barely any changes to his moveset (3 new moves IIRC).
Damn... That finale was something. Pure chills down my spine. I love how the devs really thought: "How can we make a challenge for this one guy in particular." Lemon you are a literal god tier patience elemental. You are patience itself i might say. Your skill has been honed over the years and it really shows. This whole challenge looked like a cake walk , due to your skills. Thanks for once again a great video. And for all you guys reading this comment: Be good to one another!
this is not sponsored man the game is genuinely that good with a great dev team. Another example is the ability flower heart gives you was added because the dev's listened to the community and added running.
love it when devs actually pay attention to their community and even reach out to people just to be like ''oh you like our game? well then try this hand crafted hell me made for you'' just earns so much respect for those devs
This is it, Lemon. This is the sign that you've officially made it. Your metal mug is in a game, disjointedly stuck to a mudman's noggin. Proud a' you, man.👍👍😃
Gigantic props to the devs for not just being great sports about your videos, but actively watching and engaging and doing stuff like this. Always awesome to see!
Glad to see devs honoring the content creators who showcase their games. If it wasn't for your challenge runs, or those of other challenge runners, there's a fair few games I might never have even heard of, much less given a chance. Honestly while I know the game probably wasn't quite your cup of tea, your video on Remnant 2 is what ultimately gave me the final push to get it, and in a year packed with great games, it was probably my favorite one I played last year and I put more hours into it than I have probably any game in recent memory. I'd love to see you consider giving it a second chance at some point and doing a challenge run in it. I do know there's grenades in the game that you can buy from one of the vendors, though I've never tried to use them myself so no idea if a "Firebombs only" run would be doable.
Such small and clever things that really show just how well crafted this game truly is. Without you lemon I would never have found grime or salt and sanctuary so thank you for sharing these amazing games
God Lemon, your editing, storytelling and general presentation during that entire last fight and the outro is simply superb. You keep outdoing yourself and growing as a content creator with every video, honestly, bravo.
I don't think I've ever even seen GRIME before, but it was a treat. The art direction and the world felt captivating with its grotesque claymation quality, and the final fight was nothing short of absolutely beautiful. All that only elevated by the sheer skill it took to beat with the most basic gear possible. Kudos both to you and the developers.
...you know, sometimes i think the same thing. I know fighting. Fighting and struggling makes sense. You really put the words beautifully. You reach the top, and realise that your single minded pursuit of strength has left you beyond challengers. So what then? Leave the mountain, and climb a new one. Taking with you the joy and sparks of inspiration from the one you climbed before.
I love that the final boss is essentially the player and the player characters mirror a large entity far from the small entity like two eldritch beings fighting with puppets cause their presence would tear the world asunder.
I adore the use of the Surrogate Vulture theme at the end. That is my favourite track of this entire game, and it hammers home how much of an accomplishment you have earned here and how much of a struggle it was.
