I was always under the assumption that shine doesn't count towards origination because selene isn't an Olympian or a god Edit: chat said it moments after I posted this, lol
There is that wording in origination that does say 2 different olympian gods, so I agree. Dionysus is an olympian, so he counts. Shine being from Selene means it's not Olympian, not unlike something like Hecuba's stun. Only problem with all this is the weird wording of what is a curse.
My favorite selene build is to just play around the arcana card that buffs omegas attacks by cycling them, use selenes keepsake for max hex at the start and just plow through mobs and bosses. Aphro, apollo, Hera (Hera and Apollo are my main preferences) the usual high damage attack boons. Zeus (I prefer zeus because wow blitz is cool!), poseideon hestia or whatever god you prefer on your spam specials. Thats the best way to play around this aspect in my opinion
I don't know, I absolutely adore aspect of Selene with full on Hex build. With almost fully upgraded Hex tree Skyfall just incinerates enemies with satellite laser spam.
I am like pretty sure that Morph procs Origination, no? That's a Hex as well and it applies it, despite Selene not being an Olympian. I feel like Skyfall should apply it. I think they just turned it off because they don't want you to have chamber 1 Origination available, but that seems really weird to make an exception like that for this. I feel like that would be one of the main uses for this aspect!
They should show a glowing green circle around you when incandescent aura is active kind of like the Athena legendary in Hades 1 or the Hera legendary in Olympus mod version.. It would make it so much easier to understand instead of guessing how far is too far ?
For Incandescent Aura, maybe Lucid Gain would work better? You want the enemies to be in your cast, so you should generally be close enough. Not sure if a Geyser Spout build would be viable, it may push enemies outside the range of Incandescent Aura before it triggers, plus it needs 4 gods, but it would probably the fastest way to trigger an higher damage Aura. With 15 magick per cast it would be 75 dmg, going up to 150 with Blood Line. The cast will still do more damage, but it's still a decent increase, assuming Geyser Spout doesn't cause it to miss. Even if Geyser Ring doesn't work I still think Lucid Gain is at least one of the better magick regen for it, since it both regens quite a bit at a time and somewhat incentivise to be close to enemies. Poseidon and Zeus rely too much on positioning since their regen might require you to move away from enemies. Hera doesn't trigger often enough, or is risky if it does, since you might run out of magick. Demeter requires you to stand still, which you probably don't want to do near enemies, and it might not even give better damage than the other regen over time because of the internal cooldown of Incandescent Aura. Aphrodite and Chaos are regen over time, so they stop working when channelling. I believe they regen 1 magick at a time, with a frequency determined by the rate (though I might be wrong), which would cause you to have an Aura that deals at most 25 dmg per second to nearby enemies because of the internal cooldown. Interestingly, if it works this way a regen of 6 magick per second is actually worse than a regen of 5, since the frequency wouldn't be in sync with the internal cooldown. Hephaestus requires you to get hit, so it's not ideal in most cases, but it can regen a large chunk that should hit most of the time with a melee build. Hestia has the problem that you can't be using magick while you regen magick, so it's a small magick regen that cannot constantly be applied since you have to stop to actually use magick in most cases. The most consistent way of using it is probably the staff hammer that make your attack hit twice for 5 magick, which is 25 extra damage per attack (for a duo, when Wave Strike is at least 30 per attack since it now hits twice).
A couple of weeks ago I wanted to try only omega rockets run too and my set up was almost exactly the same only I chose Poseidon's keepsake for the start (to get his special). I didn't know what I would get, just improvised and I had sm fun with Pos and Zeus' duo, Heph's infusion and almost fully upgraded Hex that was activating omega special additionally (drunken stupor from Dio as a cherry on top). Enemies were melting under my onslaught, even Prometheus
My favorite selene build is with aphro and Poseidon. With island getaway and glamour gain for magic regen and damage reduction. And then I try and get Zeus in there for some cc and to combo with Poseidon.
Damnit i just came here to suggest a freeze burn run with sister blades 😢 In case you're still interested though, It's a heroic hestia attack + ALL the attack speed you can get (hammer and hermes), and freeze on either cast or special. I used the Mel aspect, but it doesn't really matter. It produces some biiiiig numbers.
DPS mod seemed kind of strange here. Where was scorch the entire run? Was it just added to Freezer Burn? Because the in-game DPS meter showed them seperately.
I've noticed while watching both your and Boated's videos that Aeotos (da bird) generally seems to be much smarter in your game than Boated's lmao, e.g. instead of slamming its head against the wall you're behind it quickly sidles to get a better aim...repeatedly been something I've noticed between both of your multiple runs haha
I had a run with mel coat, hestia special, and demeter cast and I killed Prometh fast, I entered the fight with under a minute remaining on the clock and beat him with 3 seconds left... bro got nuked lol
I know it's a fun run since you just use special. Learned a lot from you both in hades 1 and 2 but hearing you shit on this aspect, while it's the a special build with Hestia's mana Regen was the easiest 32 fear of my life and I can't do hades 1 above 16 fear
The whole point of these types of videos he does is to see if specific thing is good so the mod just shows the DPS of everything to show how good it is throughout the run
It's nothing that changes up gameplay, they're mostly for tracking things like DPS and Damage per Source so he and chat can use that info for future builds and min-maxing strats. It's obvious when a build is just chunking enemy health, but the base game doesn't do the best job of distinguishing where the damage is coming - the weapon and it's base Power, Boons and their % damage increase or added damage sources, debuffs and/or damage from curses, buffs from Hammers, etc. It can end up making some boons/hammers/etc. seem more or less important to a build than they actually are. Separating the damage out and displaying it makes it a lot easier to sort through.

Does hangover from dio count as a curse? I never took the boon so I have no idea
@@aperson6562YES, i had a run where it was my only form of origination lol

Fire Walk reduces Prometheus flames as well, at least for the surface it's better than nothing.
Should have taken the fire walk 🤣

Not origination, just a different +50% damage debuff

ah this is where that feedback came from

What mod is this and how do I get it? Been wondering about my own stats as well so this would be a big help!
Sometimes the mana cost for the omega special is significantly discounted. I can’t figure out what causes it. Can anyone explain
This build is not broken, but it's really easy to use. Just run away and quickly charge omega special.

I guess hex shouldn’t count as a curse since it is only for olympian gods?
Why using Mods?
Why not?

It was just to see the DPS meter (the hammer thing got accidentally left on)
@ thanks. That is useful. They should add it in the vanilla
