  • This vortex machine produces a vortex that can lift up to 3.5kg, enough to lift a heavy metal disc! Do note though that the whole system can't lift itself.

    A theory about the rainbow is the vortex was fast enough to generate an increase/decrease in gravity which will bend the light around or through it! The light fractioning was in waves which could have been due to the video record speed but it could also have been because the particle interactions created a magnetic current. All theories, video is cool as hell none the less.

      +Andrew Lyons that was my first thought aswell,probably a small amount of moisture in whatever is being used to make the fog .

      I don't know exactly why the colors appear in the vortex, but it is pretty. Can be seen with the eye (thus not a camera effect). The fog is oil, not water.

    My guess, based on what I've seem so far, is the vortex lift is way more efficiënt than coanda lift. But... this vortex system as a whole can't fly, because with a straight vortex, the 2 ends produce the same force, in opposite directions, together zero force.

    • @beatbaker7420
      @beatbaker7420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      why not directing the opposite end to the same way as the other end through some piping? or bent profile - as in Schaubergers pictures/ drawings

  • @db5837
    @db5837 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    At least two causes of lift here : first is reduced pressure in centre of vortex (centrifuging of air) and therefore suction into vortex; second,as with air speeding over an aircraft wing, the circular flow of air over the top of the disc reduces air pressure on top of the disc. A third would be the recirculation of air from below the disc as it feeds back up into the vortex (if that is the direction of flow within the vortex).

    • @edlingja1
      @edlingja1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      DB Yeah, this isn't how craft fly.. To produce the (likely) magnetism required to move air this way would mean using a machine with enough power density is impossible. If you could use nuclear energy to produce the fields, the actual device would also have to be of increased size or composed of some unknown substance much lighter and stronger than any stable elements we have available.
      In short, this won't fly and it certainly wouldn't allow for significant steering or directing.

    • @edlingja1
      @edlingja1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      DB
      I think you'd be better of with opposing rotating mercury (or other metal(s)). That would allow for some form of gravitational effects; all the while enabling possibilities of steering. I think before we could look at using this type of transport outside atmospheres or with the assistance of a sort of force field/shield effect.

    • @GiesbertNijhuis
      @GiesbertNijhuis  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, yes: reduced pressure in centre of vortex. Second, no: just fast air does not produce lift. Third, probably not, in this experiment there is hardly any air motion under the disc, and there is an open connection with the air outside the apparatus (thus no large pressure difference).

    • @GiesbertNijhuis

    I watched a special on Viktor schauberger now he work with things that made sense like his impellers he made and shovels out of copper. Put the nutrients back into the soil instead of iron very smart guy by placing Boulders in a river he got the creek to do the work getting the heavy metals out of it gold and utilize the river to break up rocks over a course of time. He proved that water feeds. It feeds on the minerals on there from The Rock. Anyway thank you. That was a really cool experiment

    Thats pretty cool is that a vacuum cleaner vortex ? Reminds me of the simple kitchen sink vortex lift experiment. At the kitchen sink, instead of having the plug out and having a vortex. Leave the plug in fill it half way, put a plate at the bottom and with the dish brush spin around and around on top of the plate if you do it right the plate will rise from the bottom and end up floating.

  • @Ekonnahn

    Noticed that the disc wanted to shift to one side. That's due to the misbalance of the pressure from your side tube. If you added two more lines providing the same volume at equidistance (120 degrees) you would stabilize the disc and probably get a more smooth vertical lift.

    Thank you for sharing your experiments. If one were to invert the vortex creating mechanisim, would it life itself into the low pressure area? Then if the exhasted air were blown over a curved surface you would have a coanda saucer, no?

  • @dzhanbeglovanz2597
    @dzhanbeglovanz2597 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Energy depends on the square of the speed and power of the momentum P = mv
    Thus, with the increased air quantity is got more force.
    Here the trick is that through the concentrated point of application of the energy necessary to move as much air as possible, that is, has to be transformed the movement of small mass with high speed in the big one with low speed. The vortex is a great natural variant of transformation forces.
    It's very close to the right decision.

  • @dzhanbeglovanz2597
    @dzhanbeglovanz2597 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    it's a very good experiment.
    There is proved clear that the Takeoff force mostly consists of attached mass of air,
    If look to your video with the round wing (Koanda Effect) we can see that air flow is enough slim.
    And if flow would more the better for vertical force. But we know - power is the same.
    In this case with the same energy when is moving more mass of air we get bigger force but slower velocity.

    How is this different from the coanda effect?

    I have done similar experiments, and so far what schauberger described has holded truth, One suggestion my friend, have you tried to let the disc spin? if not could you try it?, and also with a lighter version, you are proving here some aerodynamics better than the ones at nasa, equations aside, I know that certain shapes respond dramatically better and unexpectedly than others in the presence of a tornadic force, I'm inventing something based on it, and can't disclose much, it is my baby which will allow me to make many other things of benefit for all, and I don't have nearly as much resources as yourself, but I can tell you I made a clear plastic version of the schauberger ufo, with a vacuum cleaner motor as well, you are missing the double hull!! I'm sure the thing will fly with an r/c plane electrical motor, Naudin failed at observing this, I'm going on that direction for the suction is not nearly what is needed with vacuum motor weight ratios...See? with the guy Giorgio from "in search of ufos" nasa tested the nazi bell, shape at scale, with simple horizontal wind tunnel, without thinking that this phenomena creates and electrostatic field, ala biefeld brown/tesla electrostatic field effect, were aerodynamics are useless! used as such! Thank you for sharing continue please with your experiments.

      Hey, it sounds like you do know what you are talking about. Would love to see what you are working on. The schauberger ufo, these double wave plates, I still don't get it; was it just to get more compression, like a multi stage compressor, or were there important electric things going on? I do want to get electricity involved in the search for alternative propulsion.

    Nice concept, but how much power was used to generate the 3.5kg lift? A propeller of about 30cm @ 300W could lift 3.5kg. How strong were those fans,sounded like vacuum cleaner motors (1KW?)

      @GiesbertNijhuis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point. I think we we at all together 1500W. That is terrible, but we were not really aiming for efficiency. With more efficient motors and fans I am sure we can bring the energy usage way-way down.

    • @forestdenizen6497
      @forestdenizen6497 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aircraft wings do not work in the way they teach in school. The lift is not generated by low pressure due to varying flow rates, it is really just reaction force of the wing pushing against the air. A completely flat wing with no aerofoil profile can also work.
      Low pressure due to venturi effect is a minor component.

    • @GiesbertNijhuis
      @GiesbertNijhuis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not just a vacuum, there only is a vacuum (reduced air pressure) inside the center of the vortex. Try putting something heavy that far under a pretty strong air sucking hole; it will not get sucked up. I could place the motor on the disc, that can work, but the vortex would still need a ceiling to get strong. And that is the problem preventing vortex flight.

      What is a pinch effect?

    • @arcmode
      @arcmode 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GiesbertNijhuis I meant "z pinch" which is a phenomenon that makes electrical vortexes (plasma in space) get narrow around a higher conductance. Many interesting things can happen in a Z pinch. Not sure if that could be replicated in a non-electrical vortex though.

    • @GiesbertNijhuis
      @GiesbertNijhuis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arcmode Z-Pinch, Plasma Compression, nice! Would love to work on plasma vortices, but my aim was to research the gas pressures of a vortex in normal air. There is of course more than gas motion and pressure happening: temperature, static electricity from friction, maybe every some interesting magnetic fields. Lightning is often seen next to a tornado. So much interesting stuff, so little time.

    На старих фото Джона Серла не видно магнітів - є тільки диски.
    джерелом енергії є тепле повітря, яке у центр-сходячому вихрі перетворюється на обертальний рух.
    Основою є диск, який обертається між обкладинками, створюючи в центрі велике розрідження.
    У верхній обкладинці є отвір (по центру диска він теж є, щоб задіяти обидві сторони диску) над отвором є купол, в куполі по краям є отвори через які надходить тепле повітря.
    В куполі утворюється вихор який обертає маленьку (порівняно з диском) турбінку - турбінка прикріплена в центрі диска.
    Зниження температури таке сильне що замерзають підшипники (що є великою проблемою).
    При розгоні проблемою є виючий гучний звук, тон якого залежить від діамерту диска, причиною виючого звуку є пульсуючий вихор в центрі диска, треба розігнатись ще щоб пройти пульсації (тому і репульсин), вихор стабілізується, звук дискретно змінить тон на вищий, потім зникне зовсім.
    треба розганяти ще щоб пройти цей поріг, далі в куполі над диском формується вихор який штовхатиме турбіну.
    Температура повітря - це і є джерело енергії. Дякую...

      I have not been noticing any electric effects. But there is a lot of friction going on, in air -that is an insulator- so I can imagine electric charge is created in a vortex. Why would ionized air rise up?

      besides the material density and electron number, what is another factor that affects the diamagnetic strength of a particle?

    This is quite interesting. Not sure what the rainbow indicated, but I have have always believed there is some kind of electromagnetic force, possibly generating a time warp. Wind velocity doesn't seem to explain how straw can travel through class or other strange anomalies associated with tornadoes. I have no idea how you could test this...love to hear your thoughts.
