    Hey fam, your support almost means a lot to me. With the elections behind us, we shouldn't stop being gracious and kind to one another. Peace!

    I love these style of buds...I have the c30i's and the Bose Open...and they work excellent for when I don't want buds in my ear and I need to hear my surroundings.

    Physical button is great since when you can use a single tap as a custom option. But less battery life and lower volume ... meh. This means on a plane I won't be able to hear anything over the plane noise so I have to carry separate nose cancelling buds. Honestly the quality was fine for sport. I'm exercising not auditioning hi-fi.
    My biggest gripe with the c30i is the annoying issue where one bud doesn't connect properly in the charging doc and then when I close it the buds remain connected to my phone and drain the battery. Super irritating.

    Don't compare to Bose; how does C40i compare to QCY Crossky 30? I am very impressed with Crossky 30, especially since it costs only $37.

    I would argue there is more than just ascetic value to these products, comfort and environmental awareness is their offering. As much as I adore IEM sound quality, they fall out and or always leave my ears sore after a short time.

      Thanks for your comment! I agree with you on those points (as my other videos about bone and air conduction state), although I think clip-ons compromise on audio more than other conduction-based devices I've tested.

    I focused the most on the volume comment you made. I listen to TH-cam and audiobooks mostly, hardly ever music. To get equal volume when listening to those, do you have to turn the volume up that much? I liked the c30i over my Shokz OpenFit because my phone kept yelling at me to turn the volume down. I had to have it nearly maxed to hear anything. When I switched to the c30i, my volume has been mid range for nearly everything.

      Hmm, sounds like the C40's volume levels might be fine for you.

    I need this one to solve ear pain issues and mic quality in old generation. Out of that, it's my favourite. So I think c40i will be my new favourite.

      Good point! If you like alternatives remember to look at other air conduction buds - tons of good options out there.

      @gearupaaron i have 7-8 open ears buds but only 2-3 of them are good. The good one are the one that can adjust close to ear canal. Like c30i or Tozo. My ear shape a little bit long.

      Thanks. I guess the whole idea of having an open earbuds is to hear the surrounding sounds and not for good music or ANC feature. I'm getting such open earbuds because other earbuds cannot fit into my ears, always drop off, and I wear glasses so this ring type open earbuds is perfect for me. Huawei freeclip is still the best in terms of ENC for me during phone calls.

    What do you recommend for an affordable open ear design at a good price. Earbuds with tips don't work well with my ears and headphones are too hot for me when I'm walking

      Thanks for your question... What's your budget and criteria for earbuds?

    • @bitgamerx9574
      @bitgamerx9574 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gearupaaron My budget less than $130 USD. It's mainly for audiobook listening while walking so clear audio and good comfort is most important. I have Galaxy Bud pros but the fit is awful and it bothers my ears having something push into them.

    • @gearupaaron
      @gearupaaron  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @bitgamerx9574 I think the C40 should work fine for your needs. Other suggestions are the Shokz Openfit series, Soundpeats Runfree Lite 2, Tozo O² ($40 ATM on Amazon), Soundcore's own Aerofit 2, etc. Hope that helps lead you on the right path 😁

    Earbuds are perishable yes, but _no other brand I own just up and quit one side like Soundcores do._ Three pairs now from their top tier to mid tier, all quit at about 2 years, with battery degrading faster than others along the way as well. Sadly done with this brand. I loved you Anakin! 😭

    Thx for the review! Are there other wireless open earbuds with physical buttons? This is a good selling point for the c40i. My Sony Linkbuds are very anoying because of the unintended button presses. And they fall out of my ears. And btw, i dont buy open earbuds because of the looks or trendyness, but for situations where i need to hear my surroundings. Transparency Mode is not always a good option, like in windy situations.

    • @gearupaaron
      @gearupaaron  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Practically all the open air headphones like Shokz, Creative, etc have buttons. I also don't mean the form factor is trendy, it's how poorly everything is compromised to get there. That needs to end, lol

    Looking for a earbud for my wife. She has trouble keeping in-ear buds in and was looking for something more comfortable which turned me onto open ears. Sound quality would be nice, but isn't as big of a selling point for her. She would like decent mic quality as she would be using these for work calls. Lets set the budget at $100. Would you recommend these?

    • @gearupaaron
      @gearupaaron  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They should work fine for what you're looking for, although I'd also recommend trying over the ear type earbuds like these... th-cam.com/video/Oi30teT3Ncc/w-d-xo.html. Thank you for your support... Happy thanksgiving to y'all 🦃

      I have had 4 sets:
      Tozo Open EarRing - great sound, custom eq - but some hiccups with unpairing some weird things on calls. Touch controls are bad - hard to use and it will hang up your calls with the "long press" so I had to turn it off.
      To be honest though these had my favorite customizable sound and the BEST bass of all 4 models. Just wish it did better for calls and use ability for my work.
      Bose Open Ultra - sucks for calls, don't buy, has good eq and a button control
      Huawei Freeclips - best touch controls, best call sound, no eq and the app isn't really available for android/google devices
      Soundcore C40i - custom eq, good calls, comfortable, and has a button (the model I'm choosing to keep)

      @@DS-zv5vfI am trying the Tozo earring and they sound great imo. But no multipoint so I think. I need another option. Is the bass a lot worse on Soundcore?

    Are these cheap earbuds you’re finding at Marshall’s and Ross open ear. The ones that sound just as good, or even better than the C30i. If they’re not then I don’t think it’s fair to compare, and I don’t think it’s fair to write off open ear earbuds so harshly, respectfully

  • @mattdauph
    @mattdauph 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Its ignorant to say that this category needs to die. this style of earbud isnt for kicking back and experiencing music. they are for people who are willing to sacrifice some sound quality in exchange for better awareness and safety. I listen to podcasts all day at work, and the c30i allow me to do that while also being more aware of my surroundings. you gotta compare apples to apples and not open ear to conventional earbuds.

    • @gearupaaron
      @gearupaaron  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm comparing it with the numerous open ear devices like Shokz and 1More (air and bone conduction). Too many compromises to satisfy the trend.

    c30i lard is literally the worst purchase of all time, because the sound is very terrible
