    Interesting to notice the confusion about matches / games / sets here. Quite often Dan, Alex and others use the term "set" to mean "game". Eleven, Dan and other commentators should standardise on "game" being the up to 11 (or + 2 if each player reaches 10) and "match" being a series of games. The use of "set" doesn't have a place. Both the ITTF Laws of the Table Tennis and Table Tennis England refer to "games" and "matches" and using "set" confuses people familiar with tennis -- and that's a lot of people.

      Great point! We’ll be adding additional assets to the spectating screen to make it easier to follow along as well

      Straight translation from Dutch/Flemish, I’m afraid. That’s all it is...

      Actually a discussion that's been had a couple of times on discord. Game seems to be way less prominent outside of the UK in general. In this case the confusion comes from the format being new. Best of 3 sets for a game, best of 7 games for a match maybe. But the use of game in general is quite confusing as to a lot of people it can mean both one set or a full match. No good way out of it apart from nailing it down and showing it on-screen as Oscar said.

      @@AlexTTBCN With things like this, a decision needs to be taken and everyone “official” should follow it. ITTF have taken the decision to use “game” and “match” and so for consistency and clarity it would be better if everyone followed that decision. The merits of that decision can be discussed, of course: for me, the fact that “set” in tennis means a group of games is reason enough to stop using it the way it is used by some now in table tennis. And if Eleven has a desire to popularise table tennis then using terminology that is (a) in line with ITTF and (b) not confusing to new players, will be beneficial.

      @@russellwillis3911 sure, though the use of game remains confusing for most players not natively English since Ittf has not pushed through the use of game over set in any local languages. Which is the whole reason you heard it here. When it came up in discussions it was previously agreed that set reflects the reality for more players in the game (eventhough they use English as the main language of communication with each other), but maybe conforming to the Ittf use of it makes more sense . For sure it could explain Dan's confusion.

    How you record this video? Is it one of the player has to record? Or the game somehow store the gameplay data somewhere and we can pull it out, set the angle, then render the video after the game?

    I have the impression that the "gravity" and the weight of the ball is different then the default game settings, looks more realistic, I wonder what are the settings set here.

    Why are their serves so different than the serves you typically see IRL tournaments?

    • @skaposzczet
      @skaposzczet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wonder why they serves are so different then what i see when i play this game on my quest. Here they look really slow and weak, when I play someone higher ranked the serves are usually very fast and hard to return.

    • @Sc9cvsd

      If you watch pro or olympic real life table tennis it is like this. The serves are slow then they pick up the speed as the rally goes

    • @Sc9cvsd
      @Sc9cvsd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@skaposzczet same reason real table tennis pros dont serve fast, a fast serve is easy to return even faster and server loses control. A slow high spin serve is hard to return fast and server maintains control. One time ProTTVR did a fast serve here, it was just slammed back right in his face
