I completely agree with Lowkey. I'm non-religious living in a predominantly Muslim community. I don't really see why they are demonised. I've had nothing but respect from them and have nothing but respect for them. It's upsetting for me to hear the way they talk about them. The fact that they are demonised in the media causes people to be dubious about talking to them. The vibes you get from them are probably caused by the ones you give. Racial and Religious segregation is not good news, people!

When katrina hit mississippi, and people had no electricity and no gasoline for almost a month, people suddenly became more concerned about their neighbors, they developed a sense of community cohesion that did not exist before. I would guess that hardships, both natural and sudden, reinforce the tendency in people to act in a moral fashion, because they need to.

I agree with everything he said. One problem is though is that this message needs to be spread outside of just the Muslim community. There are plenty of non-Muslims out there that feel this way and I am one of them. If the message is not spread outside of the Muslim community it with just create animosity inside of the Muslim community and misunderstanding outside of it.

@Qandahariprinze. It doesnt directly say music is forbidden, but from several"hadiths"(Sayings of the prophet PBUH) Information can be added up from different hadiths leading to enough information proving, in islam, music is forbidden. Unfortunately many many muslims listen to music.

According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnicity discrimination.[Wikipedia] Nationality and religion are often understood as bing part of a persons ethical heritage. Other than that, you should also take note of the fact that the term is more broadly used in modern language. Having said that, Lowkey is half Iraqi half English and has mentioned in several speeches that he believes in evolution.

And to people saying the Muslim religion insights violence, I would advise you actually get a book and read it yourself rather than just believing mindlessly.

Maulana Karenga argued that racism constituted the destruction of culture, language, religion and human possibility, and that the effects of racism were "the morally monstrous destruction of human possibility involved redefining African humanity to the world, poisoning past, present and future relations with others who only know us through this stereotyping and thus damaging the truly human relations among peoples."

"9:5-6 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah"

Most people in the UK were against the Iraq war. It's true that sections of the media give Muslims a bad press. But Catholics, atheists also get bad press. The pope compared atheists like myself to Hitler when in the UK. People have a right to their opinions whether you like them or not and that includes criticising Islam. People have a right to freedom of speech here. Muslims have more freedom here than anywhere in the world including the freedom to pick their religion without being killed.

@jttesh Flags. Nationalism has been replaced by imperialism, (or, instead of simply identifying ourselves by our country, we go a step further: we subordinate people of other nationalities, ethnicities, races, religions etc...) I guess, is what he's saying. Quite possibly. Although that's just what I'm reading into it.

@sykopath66190 The March 2004 bombings in Madrid killed 1991 & wounded 2050. The July 2005 London bombings killed 52 & injured 700. Both were credited to Islamic terror.
Russia's 2 biggest terror attacks come from Muslim groups. In the Nord-Ost incident, 850 were held hostage - 129 were killed. In the Belsan school hostage crisis, 1200 were taken hostage. 500 died including 186 children.

Lol I love it when people try to give credit for inventions and innovations to a religion. Does this mean calculus was invented by Christianity or that Judaism is responsible for the theory of relativity? Can I claim the Christianity created the airplane, the automobile, antibiotics, paper towels or any other of the myriad of innovations that predominately Christian countries are responsible for?

Sunnah means habits. In Islam it refers to the habits and actions of Muhammed. In order to learn these habits Muslims read the Hadith ( sayings and practices of Muhammed) and the Sira (Muhammed's biography compiled by Ishaaq.) This is where most concepts of Sharia come from. In Bukhairi for instance Muhammed makes a declaration that apostasy is punishable by death. Likewise the hadith and Sira also justify pedophilia with accounts of how Muhammed came to marry your namesake
