Paddy then tells James all about performing at Glastonbury with his band "Riding The Low." Then James confronts Taran Killam with some photos of his numerous doppelgängers. Finally, Paddy Considine shares how he landed his gig on "House of the Dragon" and how his platinum blonde Targaryen wig brought out "Lucius," his inner drag queen.

Under the hands of a lesser actor, Viserys would be the most insufferable caracter ever, but Paddy plays him in such a way that he became my favourite character to watch on the show. Glad he's getting more attention.
Even how he fought that bird on his plate with his 3 remaining fingers was masterful.

Paddy absolutely knocked it out of the park as Viserys, his performance turned a blank slate character in the book to a multi dimensional one in the show

he diddnt have that many scenes where he had to push his acting skills tbh, there are many characters from other series who had much harder roles
Actually is role was really dificult, because his carácter in the books is really boring and blank, he made that carácter enjoyble
I’m actually very sad that we won’t be seeing Paddy as Viserys next season as he would most likely die before the s1 finale. It’s always such a delight watching him, especially in scenes with his daughter

Paddy is amazing as Viserys. This character could’ve easily been unlikable. He makes the character have charisma. I’m gonna be sad when his character eventually dies.

We've been expecting Viserys to die since episode 3. At this point we just have to admit he's immortal.

Just finished watching s01e08. Came here to stop feeling sad. Paddy's performance was amazing! Reminded me a lot of my dad who passed last year.
Yeah it reminded me of my Mum in hospital in the same way. How skeletal he looked, the breathing. Was a great performance.

Paddy's show portrayal of Viserys might be only one in the show that possibly outshine Charles' Tywin or Peter's Tyrion of its predecessor as the quintessential singular character performance that encapsulate the definitive song of ice and fire experience for of its audience.

I wonder what role they offered Paddy for Game of Thrones. But this is such a great example that everything happens for a reason. He truly nails Viserys.

Thanks for bringing the Character alive and beyond. he might not be an effective king, but hes not corrupted by power, just a father anda king trying his best to do his duties, despite all the “leeches” and “maggots” trying to corrupt him. ❤ you Paddy .

I may have started watching because of Daemon, but I now watch it for him, but also equally so for Viserys. Paddy made a superb work bringing Viserys to the screen, absolutely brilliant, Emmy worthy in my opinion!

I’m glad Paddy was given the chance to show what a brilliant Actor He is to the American Audience…. Because in Britain We already knew how Good Him and Matt Smith(Daemon Targaryen) were…. Paddy was always known to Me and Millions of other English for His part in the Film “Dead Mans Shoes” which is from about 2004 when he played His Character so well being a unpredictable psychopath out for revenge that People like Me Who have only seen the film once years ago still clearly remember his character which just shows what a Talent He is…. But now I will think of King Viserys when ever I see Paddy!! That scene when He burst through the Door in the Throne Room and fought with ever Step to reach and sit on the Iron Throne with the extra satisfaction of seeing that snugness completely disappear from Otto Hightowers Face was the most Powerful Acting I’ve seen in a long time…. Man He’s has the World at His Feet at the moment, wouldn’t surprise Me if Hollywood came knocking!! and He deserves it….
I never cared about Viserys in the book, he was very “meh” and clearly just a narrative stepping stone to the dance of dragons. But paddy has brought so much to the character just through his expressions and mannerisms I’m gonna be genuinely bummed out when his character dies.

I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Paddy twice on Broadway in 'The Ferryman'. He was robbed of the Tony award IMHO. Not only will he be nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of King Viserys, I'm betting he's going to win the best.actor award hands down! Episode 8 of HoTD will be talked about for years to come. It was a masterclass in acting, cinematography, directing, & musical arrangement! Bravo!

I love Paddy's performance as much as anyone else (he should be Emmy nominated) but I'd disagree that he carries the whole show. Milly Alcock's performance as Rhanera is, IMO, just as good and Rhys Ifans has a very good yet understated performance as Otto Hightower. I'm kinda bummed that Milly Alcock and Emily Carey won't be seen anymore after last episode.

This is the content we need! When I heard that Paddy is a Drag Race fan, I wondered if he used some of that to channel the fierceness of a Queen for his King.

I did not know him or his work before. He's a wonderful actor and i'm really looking forward to seeing him again on screen or on stage whenever i go to London.

Paddy is a world class actor he elevated the show with his performance. I actually got emotional at that last dinner sequence scene and Ramin’s beautiful music score as always was stunning and poignant. Great work.

Each episode has a 20 minute behind the scenes on HBOMAX. The episode 3 ones shows Paddy being hilarious - and his flamboyant alter ego he's talking about.
He's great when he's paling around with Matt (Dameon). Those two would be great to hang out with.
@@maester7778 In that episode he does an air guitar after it shows how the filming of the deer killing was done. He just looks so happy all the time but plays serious characters to perfection - like in Peaky Blinders.
