    I love how the utahraptors roar sounds less like a screech and more like the souls of the damned

      Yeah sounded a bit similar to the Darkhold soul of the damn from Doctor Strange; In The Multiverse Of Madness

    Just commenting to let you know that your video editing and review presentation-style is super top-notch for such a small channel, and I wouldn't be surprised if your channel gains thousands more subscribers in the near future.
    Also the _Utahraptor_ is indeed awesome. I've never owned it or seen it in person, but it gives me such 90s Paleontology vibes just from looking at it.

      Thank you so much, that means a lot. Ive had a ton of fun making these, and I have been trying to improve with each video. Glad others are enjoying them, making them has been a nice stress relief thing for me.

      @@LeoTheYuty For me the best pieces from Series 2 are those 3 figures I previously mentioned: Young T-rex repaint with Capture Gear, the Tanystropheus JP.13 and the Utahraptor, of course. I know the "Demon" Carnotaurus's a sough after piece & an iconic JP piece, but for me's nothing really especial (although I LOVE Carnotaurus species). That's my opinion, tough!

    This was my first JP figure I bought three years ago to kick start my vintage JP collection 😊 I paid $35 for it complete at the time. I've never owned any of these as a kid so it's nice to have em now as an adult ☺️ check out my series one human and hatchlings review when u get chance and let me know what u think of it as I would love to read ur feedback on it 😊 if not no worries 🙂

      Enjoyed the video man! Really liked how you went through each figure. I was planning on doing something similar with the series 1 humans, but I don't have complete loose ones like you do so Ive been putting it off (only have packaged ones). Honestly I think your video covers everything that needs to be covered with those figures, maybe I don't need to do my own now lol

  • @animationunlimited2958
    @animationunlimited2958 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Utharaptor could get to 2 meters tall were as the achillabators which are the closest in size to the Velociraptors in JP was only 1,8 meters in height.

  • @kalevipoeg6916
    @kalevipoeg6916 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In terms of the size of the real dinosaur, you're looking at something that would have stood between 6 and 8 feet tall and 20 feet long, with a mass of between 500 and 1,000 lbs depending on how you flesh it out (I'd bet more toward the 500-700 lb range). So it was definitely big but not so huge that the raptors in the film couldn't have just been called Utahraptor.
    Michael Crichton of course was fully aware of the existence of larger dromaeosaurids even when writing the book - such as the 5' tall, 150 lb Deinonychus (smaller than the movie raptors but bigger than the ACTUAL Velociraptor from the fossil record) - given that the ones in the film were about 6 feet tall (so actually taller than the average 5'9" human male) and weighed about 300 lbs each, Utahraptor would be the closest in size. The reason Crichton didn't use Deinonychus instead event though they were closer to the appropriate size he was going for was simple: Velociraptor sounds way cooler.
    And I suspect that's why TO THIS DAY they refuse to put Utahraptor in the films. In fairness, though, Utahraptor WAS bigger than the film raptors which were themselves already way bigger than the real Velociraptor, so on screen, an 8 foot tall raptor would look HUGE compared to a 6 foot tall one when put alongside human figures.

  • @rex-rant4322
    @rex-rant4322 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I feel like they based the raptors in the movies off of the real life utahraptor. From what I've seen, it's the same as a velociraptor overall so I guess you can say it's half right.

    • @tokensdam
      @tokensdam 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1
