Nice video Alex, but really have to say, there is no such bird as The British Hen Harrier.
We all love the Harrier, be it Hen or Montagu`s (the only two i have seen) or whatever Raptor.
Love them all. Keep up the good work.

thanks. I'm glad you liked the video :) All I meant by 'British' Hen Harrier is the hen harriers that live in Britain, rather than referring to a distinct species. Apologies if that wasn't clear.

Well done Alex. The plight facing these birds is a tricky one to solve. Despite the laws being in place, catching and successfully prosecuting the persecutors is tricky, time consuming, and expensive. The punishment of those found guilty needs to be increased to act as more of a deterrent. Not the whole answer I'm sure, but it would at least send out a stronger message that those seeking to protect these amazing birds mean business. 👍🤞👍

you make a great point Graham. Solving issues like this is definitely a complex matter, but stronger deterrents are always a good place to start. Thanks for commenting, I'm glad you liked the video! :)

That is so cool that they pass the food! Get them in the Olympics 😘 thank you so much for raising awareness of the plight facing these beautiful birds. Hopefully we humans can come together to stop and help bring back this species that we put at risk. 💚🤙

Hi Alex, thanks for this interesting video about this fantastic bird. In Switzerland we only can watch them in Winter. Then they are our guests😀. Last winter I could observe three female birds over a longer period. The first bird I could already watch in mid-September and I was able to take a short video sequence. Since then I have been absolutely fascinated by this bird. But they are not easy to easy to capture. Two weeks ago I saw a female. Unfortunatly I was driving on the highway and wasn't able to stop. Kind regards - Heini

Hi Heini, thanks so much for commenting! It's lovely to hear that you've had plenty of sightings. Unfortunately, I'm actually yet to see a Hen Harrier here in the UK! Let's hope I'll spot one soon :)

The second a Raptor suspiciously dies on a moor you stop any shooting activity for 5 years, that would be pretty effective...
