@@devilmecare I'm purely going off my own experiences and limited knowledge . Id have expected strict basic boundaries and control with such a huge breed . A man near me in Edinburgh has a Caucasian shepherd . I've never heard it bark yet alone even pull on the lead . He's a tiny guy aswell but has full control over his pooch. Britain has chosen to ban the XL bully , the powers above can't seem to understand licencing owners and breeders would be better . I find it utterly bizarre as a small dog can be just as demonic ! I'd love to see a follow up with dog daddy's work . He's helping so many people who have created their own issues but do they stick to it or give up ?!?

Wow, you are right DD not many people would train this dog. I’m no expert but to me it looked like this dog was just doing their “job” and it was so deep in their animalistic DNA. And that is instinct that can’t be easily trained out. Thank you for not giving up.

I agree it is in the DNA, but naturally seeing anything as a threat and instantly thinking to attack it is due to not being trained.
Especially because the owner is there with the dog and showing that they don’t see the trainer as a threat.

I think perhaps people should congratulate this family for contacting a trainer. Many people wont, so how about a good job to that. Also, many people do not research the breed beforehand, i never thougt to do so until the dog i have now. I saved her from starving to death. She was tied to a tree in south Carolina, she was aggressive to other dogs and many people. This is when i started researching. She is cane corso and pitbull. We are still a work in progress, but i tell you what. We both have come a long way. I am blessed to have her. Marvel saved my life i think more than i did hers. Give this family a break and understand you dont know their story. And they are trying. Thats a large aggressive dog. But therw are no bad dogs, this family realized that and sought-after help.

Now that is impressive, that dog is something else entirely! Only a real trainer can handle something like that. The sheer weight, force and pressure going through that leash must be unreal plus he is still giving corrections, handling the dog, avoiding the lunging and creating a barrier all at the same time.
Edit: I watched till the end and I couldn't see the setback, I only saw the improvement especially when he was walking side by side with DD even with the barrier, the huge improvement that I noted was the owner walking Squatch on heel and him not being visibly reactive to DD.

Everything he said about the breed is true. Most trainers will not even entertain the idea of training this kind of dog. I love how daddy is so transparent unlike other dog trainers who do things behind closed doors even away from the owners, which is not OK.because it is a system for it to work the owner needs to work and so does the dog. Good job great job. Can’t wait to see the next one.

So is mine and traumatized heavely ..
Never needed this bs and yes she (and he) were just like this when we started.
You want a quick fix, shut down the dog, drain all energy and poof ... doesnt solve shit.
And thats the only thing he does.
Muzzle dog , wear out , flooding, going in total live or die experience until there is nothing left.
And then say, oh my gosh guys I fixed this dog!
No dude, you shut him down. And didnt change the fear or anything underlaying that causes the behaviour in the first place.
For real, you think THIS will result in a dog that trusts humans ..?
Quite the opposite. Wait when they get over this stage and you'll have a bigger problem.

    • @zapbutton8553
      @zapbutton8553 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

I believe dogs have their own character, this one is young, handling very much on instinct, if he attacks any stranger.
He has to go a way to be able to approach him, he can not sit there for weeks and weeks and have him adjust slowly, he also uses the time to teach the owner a lot of insight in the dogs behaviour, showing him skills that he can use in the future for extended learning.
I am sure there are other ways, but i think he is doing well, lets wait and see, this one has no fear or aggression for no reason, it's just unbridled (and unneutered) guard dog behaviour which is bred into him. Not like with your dog.
Also, rather a dog that can be handled, than a hopeless case, how many dogs sit on a chain lonely until death as no one ever took the effort.
      Criticising is easy.

    • @DisforDogs1
      @DisforDogs1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@zapbutton8553
      This one has no fear?
I can point out many signs that he does.
There is no excuse to go about it this way.
Also way more helpful in this case would be instructing the owner how to spot and correct (beforehand showing by example also with a similair well behaved dog) giving tips along the way. "Now do this, now put a little pressure when, release as soon as" and working to narrow the space between the dog and "dog daddy"
Thats building confidence in themselves and their owners and overcoming fear or any reactivity reaction.
Could have just done that, no need to spend weeks doing this, that I can promise. 1 session without all his bs and get better and longer lasting results.
He just wants to take that lead and do his "trick" . Owners learn almost nothing, dog learns bad experience and when they attempt to do the same will hit the wall. This is wearing out and flooding.
Hey, I can do that for you as a temporary quick fix, anyone can for real.
Mine isnt neutered either (nor old).
And a pure bred big guard dog used to fend of wolves, bears etc.
People seem to think that neutering a dog will fix or help with reactivity, its quite the opposite. Also medically its not adviced anymore to nuture as a standard bc of health issues as well as behavioural issues.
Nutering a fearful dog is probably the "dumbest" thing someone can do.
Have so many studies on this as well as in field experience. (If you like I can send some)
But doing this type of training is bad for any dog.
And cant you agree that this will not solve his fear or agression or reservedness towards strange people?
It will only get worse soon.
After this experience, someone else walks up to you or visits ur home? What did he learn ..? Stranger = fear, confusion and the outcome is show as much agression to keep them away after that experience.
And yes, sorry, I know my spelling is shitty, English is not my first language, but I think you understand what I'm saying.

Great job! That dog is 200 pounds, so you are doing masterful. I had a gog that was 125 pounds and he was a handful. Anyone thinking you failed probably haven't trained a large dog before. I love the steps you are taking to get the dog use to people, so he doesn't just attack everyone. That dog could easily kill a child, so you have to get it trained before a tragedy happens. I have seen DD other training sessions and usually it takes a few minutes to get the dog under control. This dog is a challenge but DD is doing better than any other trainer prior like the family stated. I will definitely watch Part 4.

dogs this big and dominant it’s going to be a tough battle to show them they aren’t the leader or dominant one anymore, smaller dogs know they don’t have the size and power to actually dominate so they don’t fight for long. good on you for taking on this hard job and giving this dog a chance at a happy calm life.
