Agree, I don't care about what reviews are of interest to people, it's only to going to echo the hype machine. I come to YOUR channel for YOUR opinion, I'd love YOUR top 10!
Agreed. I stopped watching after 30 seconds. No interest in hearing some algorithmic list. It’s his view that’s interesting. Becoming less and less interested in this channel.
David, you’re selling yourself short. I subscribe to hear your opinion on tricks. So hearing what you felt were best tricks you reviewed is exactly what I would want to hear. Love the show!
@@magicorthodoxy I agree with the others here. The value of a review channel is the reviewer's educated and, yes, subjective, opinion. A top views list shows which tricks garnered interest but it doesn't show which tricks are quality. I, personally, most appreciate when you help determine which tricks have value and not just buzz.
Hi David, excellent "review" review! Thank you so much for all you do! Thank you for everything this past year. You keep the interest and fun in looking forward every day to the latest and greatest! Wishing you and your family a safe, healthy, enjoyable and Blessed New Year 🎉! Your friend, David
You're so right David. I have fed suffered from buyers remorse, more than once. But that was then! Rarely does it happen now. I am in no rush and have discovered the hype antidote.
I agree! Every time I have to ffwd to the good stuff. Too much chatter before the reviews start I say talk about the channel at the end so u keep the viewers engaged- then u can discuss the channel and your mission statement
I appreciate the "completely objective" approach, and some factors that affect the position of these tricks in your list. However, I agree with some viewer's comments which are in favor of YOUR Top 10 opinion. The disclaimer in the beginning of the video works just fine to set it up. Most of us are here because we like and value your take on all things magic. Happy New Year and keep making awesome content in 2025!
People need to understand when you see something amazing you may be dissappointed when you find out the solution. This is because the artist performing the trick has perfected it and has taken months to get to that level. Not all of us have that time or commitment. Two Tricks that fall into this catogregy are "Crazy Sans Minds" and Crazy Sans Ring" Great to look at but will take you months to perfect. Everyone needs to bear this in mind. I'm a begineer and just learnt the Elmsey count to a good level so concentrate on packet tricks that involve this sleight at the moment. I will say that "Repo" is fairly easy to pick up though. Merry Xmas David. Love the channel.
There's no fair way to do a Top Ten list. In your case, you are hopefully growing your subscriber list. The more popular your show gets, the more views you get. That throws this list out the window. Nice job, though! I've enjoyed your reviews this year and look forward to your 2025 reviews. Cheers! -MJ
@@magicorthodoxyExactly, David. Ignore all these negative comments. It’s got nothing to do with algorithms or hype etc…the effects on your list also have very good reviews across the board from verified buyers with quotes/endorsements from the most influential/biggest names in magic. There’s a good reason they have the views they have. Keep up the great work. I’ve always been a fan of you & I’m honored to have made #2 on your list🙏🏼
MANY types of bottles, not just Corona or Modelo. These are simply the bottles I discovered the principles with, they are commonly found & the clear glass allows for the optical rise to be seen clearly - it can be used with many different types of wine bottles using a dime or penny (many bottles in the US work with either a penny or a dime since they’re close to the same size), clear Rose bottles, Fever-Tree brand and a dime, mini tequila bottles like La Gritona and a dime, glass Coke bottles (clear or green) and a penny or dime, glass water bottles like Gerolsteiner and a penny, Sake Hakutsuru bottles and a quarter, Jones Cola, many soda/juice brands etc etc & most different brands of beer or non-alcoholic beer work and the different sizes including the mini bottle types like Coronita/Modelito or the large single bottles you’d find at a gas station. The glass also doesn’t have to be clear but can also be dark. In this case another CIB variation or handling would be applied using the darker bottles since a visual melt-thru penetration isn’t as clear with these..but many other handlings with dark or clear bottles are possible to apply to my souvenir system, for instance the classic CIB handling you’d use with a folding coin can now be done with my impossible souvenir ending…it effectively replaces a folding coin and the spec can now keep it forever as an impossible souvenir, as opposed to having to remove the coin from the bottle as is traditionally done with a folding coin. The souvenir ending can be applied to most CIB/CTB’s you may already know and use. I cover many different bottle and coin types (the combinations are truly endless), as well as brand new visual penetrations and extractions, many more variations, new handlings, subtleties, tips/troubleshooting, foreign coins/bottles, presentations/framings, etc on the Pretty Penny sequel we are filming this January. It is also being published as an entire chapter in Paul Harris’ new book set (in the works for 3 years now, far before I painstakingly decided to release some of my work through Penguin as “Pretty Penny” -in the PH books it is known as “Michael John’s Pretty Penny Principle”) set to release beginning to mid 2025 & featuring many facets you will not find on the download(s). Hope this helps.
This is a silly and unfair way to choose a trick based on amount of views. Tricks reviewed earlier in the year are going to have way more accumulated view counts than tricks reviewed late in the year. This is such a stupid way. Im sorry. You should have chosen your list based on your opinion. That's more important.

Dave we want an actual top 10 list! Give us a legit take on what your top 10 RECOMMENDATIONS for the year are. Thats what we are hoping for I think
Same for me. Would have perfered his opinion
Me as well. I would like to hear YOUR top ten list. Amount of views isn’t that important to me.

100% this - otherwise its’s just a list of reading ad copy!
David, you’re selling yourself short. I subscribe to hear your opinion on tricks. So hearing what you felt were best tricks you reviewed is exactly what I would want to hear. Love the show!
my favorite tricks were all weird .... and probably NOT popular at all
@@magicorthodoxy we watch your channel to hear your views and opinions. I don't care too much for what the populist vote is.
It’s not about popular it’s your professional opinion. Plus I learn about new tricks here so some of yours may become one of mine.

...That is EXACTLY what I'd love to see.
Thank you David. I really would like to hear your personal top ten!
Love the rapid pace of this video! But number of views isn't a very telling standard by which to evaluate the effects.

Top 10 WORST reviews of 2024… This video wins number 1!
We want your opinion! Views are pretty much meaningless.
I really wish you would leave links to the reviews that you reference in the description
my channel has its own search feature, any review you want to see, go to the magnifying glass next to the word "Store"
@ but would be nice to not have to memorize or write down the ten titles.
Love ya Dave but I don't see what use this list is. I want to hear what tricks YOU thought were the best tricks of the year.
