Why are you ignoring that monetization is far more egregious in this version than it was in beta?
I could earn characters at a fast rate with gold, its fair monetization is what encouraged me to buy the Founder's Pack.
Now they lock challenges behind crappy cosmetics like lazy graphic tees or Jason masks that cost $5 each. The cost to grind free characters was doubled and the removal of gold makes it take even longer as you can be awarded perk currency instead of fighter currency.
Monetization is 100% the #1 issue and that's coming from someone who has all the characters unlocked and is sitting on 20 character tickets. New players are not going to stick around and try the game if they are forced to use only Shaggy or Banana Guard for 30 hours or to spend $10 per character. They are going to uninstall and play a game that respects their time and money.
We’ve seen this a million times a major studio releases a game in a undeveloped state, loses a huge chunk of there player base, and then it takes a year or two to actually get it to where it should’ve been at launch.
It’s a shame what the gaming space is like in 2024.
Funny enough this happens more with 343 but nowadays just seems like every other studio does this now which is just sad

the magic of those games is that the community left over are always amazing. it basically removes all the trend chasers and only people that actually care about fallout or sea of theives stay.

For me just seems like they rushed this out when it clearly wasn’t ready and that’s on the WB executives. As for the issues of the actual game it falls with the servers, the way it’s been monetized, how overly grindy the game is, somewhat of an unbalanced roaster, how sluggish the game feels compared to beta, and finally not having enough content to keep people busy. Now Ik that game has rifts and that’s been somewhat fun but other than that the game only has a 1v1 and 2v2 game mode and I feel like that’s not enough for some people. Not to mention the game not coming out with ranked upon its release is actually crazy. Not to mention with all these newer games coming out now like space marine 2, dragon ball sparking zero, black myth wukong, the Elden ring dlc, and the street fighter fighting pass 2 there’s just a lot of big competition and it’s clear most players have already moved on including myself.

That and also that it is a fighting game. 80% of the casual playerbase is going to get salty over loseing and not come back just for that.

@@galcio3193while that might be the case most casuals don’t leave for that reason. There are a ton of casuals like myself who still play fighting games like street fighter 6 and tekkan. With multiversus it’s just that the game is a lot slower and its roaster is more unbalanced. I left because it just got extremely boring with most sweats or players having the exact same boring playstyle and the fact the game lets u get away with soo much it’s crazy.
monetization/grind expected. its a free game. unbalanced roster makes sense. it takes a while for players to lab the characters and find their broken loops. it will all be fixed before ranked is released so no worries. game speed makes sense. a lot of people like the slower gameplay compared to the dodge spamfest before.
Saying the reason people stop playing games is because there isn't new stuff implies that they won't play a game if there isn't new stuff.
Why wouldn't you want to play a game without updates? Could it be the game isn't fun?

In its current state I feel like the game can be boring sometimes especially 1v1s. Legit picked up bugs and haven’t played him since the beta and won about 10 matches in a row because of how much cheap shit this game lets u get away with. Not to mention most people online usually have either a similar playstyle or the game itself is super spam heavy.
That’s how it is for MOST games these days sadly. And they milk us players for it
this. the game isnt fun. its not ballanced. Im a bron main and have to GRIT MY TEETH and be SO CREATIVE to win. i got him to 80% in 1s and after 3 days maybe won 7 outa 10 consistently. i picked up shaggy never having used him, won 5 in a row with mainly over special. the game wont last unless they do a ballance overhaul the gimmick of the characters will run out VERY soon. even FORTNITE is having issues bringing players with the most popular characters in media. how you think 30 year old WB characters will last
Ummmm the "true" fighting games like Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8 dont have that much updates yet the playerbase remain dedicated

Only thing a road map is gonna do is let content creators pump out a lil more content before the game dies of a thousand cuts.

One problem I think is they’re trying their hardest to cater to casuals too they just get on the game sometimes the hardcore fans are the ones that’ll stay on the game at all times look at for honor 11-12 years only and still a constant player base every day that spends money on the game and plays all the time

The most obvious answer? WB marketing execs got their hands on the game and fucked it up.
By this I mean: Insanely grindy to make any real progress on the battle pass. Locked some dailies, rift missions etc behind owning specific characters or worse character skins. Made progression at rift difficulties stupid with insanely grindy reliance on fomo to pressure people into spending more on gem exp not to mention some of the higher end difficulties like insane mode having AI that isn’t harder to fight because it’s skilled but harder to fight because even with the required gem level some of them can two shot you.
Aside from that, lots of connection issues, hit boxes are somehow STILL garbage. Characters like Velma where hit with the nerf bat so hard it feels like an April fools joke, etc etc etc.

its so much fun but sometimes i don't even wanna play just because of the server issues
Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings would give the game a huge boost.
Good Gameplay would give the game a boost. Not collabs.
after spending over $200 in the game the reason i wanna quit is bc there's nothing to do & spammers. you get basically no xp for PvP so you can't level up the battle pass. you don't even get a level per day from the daily missions & you only get 3.5 levels a week from weekly missions. that's 11 levels a week in total which is about 6 weeks to complete the battle pass without xp events.
spammers like black adam, morty, gizmo, etc. & 0 to kill players along w/ quick kill characters like the joker, harley quinn, wonder woman, taz, etc. make the game not fun & the spam & cheese players are 60% of PvP
plus everything "free" costs money fr. like buying a character or skin variant for a challenge or gem upgrades to do rifts for "free" rewards that are so grindy you can't get them unless you're on the game all day multiple days a week or buy gem upgrades
It’s retaining a lot of people compared to pretty much all fighting games out there
I just checked Multiversus got more than Brawlhalla😭 and it doesn’t even have ranked

Nope monetization was proven never to be the problem during the Open Beta Multiversus was the highest sold game for two month straight with people calling it greedy so the problem is everything else

Characters are faaaar more grindier than in the beta to unlock for free plus they are more expensive irl to outright buy.
Also there offline game mode rifts is pay to win as you can literally buy crates to level up ur gems instead of grinding for it.

Yongyea was right this game is greedy and predatory with its micro transactions. In the beta no one complained because there were only 2 currencies and content was not behind a massive grind wall. Now there is so much grinding to do and there at 4 currencies. It’s sad people are defending this stuff. If we had a spine like the Star Wars battlefront 2 community did when they hated battlefront 2s monetization and grind we could actually make a change.

@@jasiah1154 it just feels like people like yongyea are just lazy. put the grind in like the good old days where we had to earn each character. labbing joker in practice mode and then finally unlocking him yesterday felt amazing. its the first game since elden ring to make me feel something.

Not entirely better. Like Spam Dodge was a complaint for example. It just seems like they spent the year developing the game ground up in a new engine and Rifts. All the while being forced by WB to implement things that are annoying for us players.
This is 100% on wb and not the dev team that works on the game

Their should be a roadmap. I’d say do a roadmap for the full year of content but black out of all the characters and maps to keep people intrigued. I would also say reinstate gold to those that played in the open beta. I understand resetting the character levels but taking away the gold I had saved up and turned it into messily perk currency is not it. I had 20-30k saved to buy future characters with. It sucks that now I have to reunlock the characters I had in the beta.
simple issue. the game has 5 good characters and the rest are trash. ive seen 10s of games have horrid servers if the game is good people will play. the game is fun cuz new characters new hype new platform. but when hype starts to die down you realize the issues the game has that other very basic fighters dont. there's not much of a meta they buffed already strong characters. small character pool with already only a few good characters, forces people to play 2-4 characters. that will get boring asf. unless they majorly balance the game it will surely fail. ive already uninstalled, it was a fun lil gimmick. The range between bad and good characters is way too far. the advantages you have simply from picking are awful. game wont last, as much as i want it too
How about the awful hitboxes? when you look deep at this games gameplay it’s fucking awful, cheesey, and unbalanced. Should’ve been way more polished by now we literally sent them screenshots of the busted ones during beta.

U gotta open ya eyes and stop meat riding MVS. The game is dying because they trying too hard to make money off it. And it’s WAY too grindy.
We barely get XP, barely get fighter currency, not to mention the ONLY way to get fighter currency is to play the Rift mode which a lot of players (myself included) do not want to do. Especially because they forcing us to play rift to get a currency that should be UNIVERSAL.
And another thing the servers is still bad for Xbox players apparently.
Plus the game feels like ur playing for nothing. The game isn’t rewarding AT ALL.
We don’t earn fighter currency after matches, we only get 10XP for the BP (mind u it takes 2000XP to level up ONCE) and the challenges forces us to play as variant characters that WE HAVE TO BUY.
It’s like they learned NOTHING from open beta at all🤦♂️
Yeah if you think I'm meat riding multiversus that let me know you don't watch my videos at all. Monetization is not the issue at all its literally anything outside of that as proven by the fact the game was the highest sold game for two months straight over full price games during the beta so that's not the issue

And I definitely did watch some of ya videos all u do is defend and say good things about the game when the game is LITERALLY in shambles right now. Not giving a game ANY constructive criticism is crazy. And it’s also the reason games like MVS for example isn’t doing so well because people like YOU think they’re doing everything right and perfect.
Constructive criticism give games feedback on what they need to fix etc. But since u clearly don’t do that then it will never grow.

We need a roadmap and we need a way to purchase levels in the battle pass. If we choose to we should always have that option if we want to do that along with the servers working correctly.
It’s been a love-hate relationship for me as well though shade with this game, I’ve had some high highs and some low lows. I thought Tom and Jerry was going to be the move when we played and it wasn’t I could’ve picked almost anybody else and won the game during that time now the game has changed dramatically in my opinion from day one and it’s all just a learning curve. Players are waiting to see what they’re going to get updates all that fun stuff but player first did a decent job with the game. They just felt rushed as always but it’s OK I see the future of this game being very bright. I’m already deciding to put another hundred dollar giveaway up for season two of this game so now I’m dually invested in the future.

Less perks when more were promised, server issues, had to remove Iron Giant. We know why, they rebuilt from unreal5. But that casual perspective is disappeared for a year and came back in a supposed full launch that at best is still beta.

They honestly messed up nerfing characters and taking away features from beta…Beta was still better, I played that for hours, now I play for maybe 15 minutes
I hate the way you unlock characters, getting character tokens is tedious and takes forever to unlock ONE character at regular price, I hope they make the joker less expensive at some point

It's the multiplayer. You can't really do multiplayer as a casual it's like you have to be a try hard to play it.

The spamming issue has to be fixed there should be no reason why banana guards can spam a HEAVY ATTACK FOR 30 DAMAGE NON STOP WITH NO COOLDOWN
there is no spamming issue with Banana Guard. If you're getting hit with the same move, that's you not knowing how to play against it.
I don’t think this game will lose players like in the beta but I do think they need to work harder than ever to provide updates and changes that create a balanced community of gamers that enjoy playing and are rewarded for playing season 1 has enough for now but we need more than 3 characters for launch and it seems like we’ll only be getting one extra character for season 1 when in reality we need tons more
Monetization was actually better in beta. I got all but 3 characters and I played casually. Now I have no idea how I'm suppose to get new characters without opening up my wallet. I don't mind paying for cosmetics, but everyone should be able to unlock all the characters for free and that that's just not possible.
When I was playing rift modes though, the matrix version of the WB stage looked really neat, so be looking forward to that

Its literally just worse in every sense compared to the beta. That being said, still having fun and glad its back.
