  • Part of the cast of "Girls Trip" stopped by the Ryan Cameron Morning Show to talk about their upcoming comedy starring Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish. It's the adult comedy we all need, as described by cast members and Director of the film, Will Packer. The conversation then drifts to the Tupac biopic which Jada has a powerful reaction to. She further details her feelings about how the movie was produced and the disservice that was done to Pac's legacy.

    First off you'll got Jada with the power and the looks and The love.
    You'll got Regina with funny and the love from the Scary movies and from About Last Night.
    Then you'll got The young lady from the play "What My Husband Doesn't Know" Play, omg this woman was So hilarious in that play it was ridiculous. I can't wait to watch it.
    And Queen Latifa from Set it Off, Chicargo, Last Holiday, and the Mad Money movie OMG she just does her thing all the way around in every movie she plays in. Sweet Life of Bees, Beauty Shop, Brown Sugar, I mean just Tons of good movies The Queen Riegns and is very Diversed. Living Out Loud, The Bone Collector, Bringing Down The House, I seen Queen in so many good ass movies.

    I hated that movie because I love Pac so much that its lack of depth was insulting. what would be good if instead of talking she had put out a biopic, that wasn't about money but just about celebrating and honoring Pac. She's got the revenue, the connections in business and Pacs fam and she had a special relationship with him.
    If I had the money I'd be contacted all the people i know loved Pac 4 Real 4 Real and get it done. But I live from paycheck to paycheck so it's just a pipe dream 🤣

    People will say why don't she and Will do a biopic of Tupac. But with Afeni gone the Estate is in a mess. Not even Afeni agreed with the movie. The other thing is this I noticed in the credits it had script writers. Even Malcolm X movie was not a true depiction of Malcolm no disrespect to Spike Lee but he went based on the Autobiography which mostly was wrote by Alex Haley. Dick Gregory had something to say about that. Go look it up yourself out of his own mouth.

    Saw the Tupac movie, overall was put together well. The image of Jada was not a big part of the movie, there is for sure something else that is bothering her! I am sure many many people can say the movie "ALI" was not all "exact" and they exercised creative freedoms. She needs to fall back. Tell her story in her time, but dont continue to dim the light of those who undoubtedly tried to tell the story the best way they could. When I saw Hill Harper, who is a quality guy, I had a lot more confidence in the story that was being told. Definitely, plan to see Girls Trip!

    At first, I was with Jada about the Tupac movie... then after seeing it, I didn't see how her portrayal (be it fake or not) was used to push or sell the movie. Her character didn't have that many scenes in the movie... I'd say about 2-3 at the most. I get her frustration about the truth not being told as it related to her, but she said it herself in this interview, "it's Hollywood." She should know the game by now bc she's in it and has been in it. Her husband sold out the real Aunt Viv 20 yrs ago... this shit ain't new.

    I want to first say it is nice to see another film in theaters with people of Color. This Film is a prime example of what Nia Long Said In Her Rolling Out Interview on TH-cam. (Go Check It Out) Women Of Color Are Not Given The Opportunity To Play All Things. They Are Only Seen As Being Pretty And Funny. This Girl Trip Movie Is About Women being Pretty And Funny. Halle Berry Is The Only One That Gets To Play All Things. This Is Something That Is Ongoing For black Women in The Business... Now I Will Say Jada Has A Good Reason To Speak How She Feels. She Didn't overreact when she took to social media about the Tupac film. Now Jada's character wasn't throughout the entire movie. I get what they did show wasn't true but her relationship with Tupac wasn't a big part of the movie. The bit's and pieces they showed apparently wasn't true and unauthentic... Jada could have waited some days after the film went into theaters to release a statement but I totally respect how she feels about the depiction being totally false..... I'm just glad that I saw the movie before I heard about her Response to the film... Jada Does Have a lot of History with Tupac and seeing that the people behind this film knows her they could have reached out.... The 2pac Film did not do well, but the Actors were great with the material given to them.

    It's not about "box office"? But when it was will Smith making box office everything was good right? I'm sorry but Jada condritcts herself all the time! Especially when it comes to Hollywood because for the past 5 decades we have watched her husband win plenty of Oscars, Academy awards, and golden gobles, star in movies, and come out top dog even over Denzel Washington, ect. in hollywood and also the same Hollywood that put her and her husband on this pedestal as the "most powerful black Hollywood couple" in america but she didn't seem to have a issue with Hollywood then. Instead of helping other black struggling actors and actresses to succeed in hollywood when her and will was on top they didn't and choose to do whatever "the white hollywood" asked of them to stay on top. But now all of a sudden since will sucks at movies and hasnt made " box office" in years and hasnt had much going for him and since there are strong black and funny actors succeeding beyond him these days and Hollywood isn't giving him the same recognition he's use to. She decides to boycott against " Hollywood awards" which was a stupid move and only put her and her family in more hot water with hollywood to began with. So when she literally dissed hollywood the same business that created her famous family once they shut the smith's down now she want to come back crying to a black radio show for sympathy saying " people aren't stupid it's not about box office!" But when box office was working for YOUR FAMILY it was all good? Please Jada. I understand why your upset about the " ALL Eyes On Me" movie and how they portrayed your relationship with pac because that was wrong! But don't get it twisted you were once apart of the same business that been fucking over people especially blacks since day one but was favored as long as will Smith was bringing home the GOLD!!! Now I'm not stupid on that lol. The moral to my story is don't get too comfortable to think that you will never fail. To make it hollywood is one thing but to remain in hollywood is another. It's just best to be humbled and be thankful for all hollywood has allowed you to do and be apart of because once it's your turn to be evicted that's it! The top is good until it's only one way down lol

    • @MisterFoxx
      @MisterFoxx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How did Jada contradict herself? Because she didn't. Jada doesn't speak for Will, so that whole box office comment was about French movies making authentic movies without caring about box office receipts, not Will or even really her. I don't even know why you think she cares about the box office...she ain't Will Smith. Will is practically irrelevant to this. But at one point, all Will cared about was the box office. Also, he never won an Oscar, just nominated for a couple.
      And FYI, Will and Jada recently teamed up with the Academy to help bring diversity by creating a foundation that supports diverse youth trying to get into the entertainment industry. And did you know that they have a film company that has produced "black films" before? Or do you just read what the white media puts out for you? I guess you're stupid on that part.

    • @kinamai1965
      @kinamai1965 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      D. Foxx First off as far as box office obviously she does care or she wouldn't have brought it up! And she also brought up HOLLYWOOD and how the industry treats " black actors" so I still say again when " her family" meaning her and will because she may not be will obviously but in the film business and Hollywood they were considered this black power couple who had a production company together that had to do with film and box office and during that time the company produced movies " hitch, pursuit of hapliness, secret life of bees, the karate kid, ect" so with that being said she did speak for WILL when he didn't win an Oscar and made it public that she wanted to "boycott the Oscars" and basically turn black actress and actors against the Oscars! That's factual. But I just trying to understand why??? Because when it comes to box office will ain't made shit in years which is why he didn't win nothing, and more talent has been in the spotlight since his last success and its the same film business in hollywood that put many awards including Oscars in wills hand many times before and it wasn't an issue then. She was saying the that the french box office was totally different in the way they did box office business in America but it's obvious she still in her feelings about will not being in box office anymore! And yes they have made " black movies" for them and the people they know! They never been like Tyler Perry and featured other black talents or brought on other black inspiring talents to the fore front. If they did I'll wait.............. "Overbrook productions" has NEVER made movies and included no black actors other than themselves or people they know! Whatever theyre doing now doesnt count because of course they have no choice but to do something for blacks now since the " white hollywood" dont fuck with them anymore since she opened her big mouth and that's why hollywood don't fuck with them anymore and now she want Sympathy from "a brother"

    Jada is full of caca! She had the money and resources and the relationship with his family to make the movie herself years ago. She did NOT. Every time she speaks about him she has a different story. One minute he was brother figure, the next a father figure figure. She could have done it herself but she had other things going on. The movie was good overall. The ending left you with an empty feeling but for the most part it was an entertaining film & a true Pac fan can tell when.and where creative liberties were taken and still enjoy it.

      I just think that she wanted her relationship with him to be a bigger part of the film, instead of a brief snippet. Sorry to say this but Pac's life was bigger than their relationship, he had so many damn layers. They didnt disrespect Jada, some stuff was inaccurate but they didnt do her dirty imo. If I knew a movie was being made about someone I hold dear to my heart, you better believe im in there hoovering over the script fact checking! As she said, they know eachother (the producers/writers), why didnt she take it upon her self to make sure their depiction of their relationship was accurate? Love jada though, hate to see her cry.
