I toured Shinjuku Station two weeks ago and it is an absolute maze for a non-Japanese speaking person. Lots of shops and wide corridors on multiple levels. It is an incredible facility. Four days later, I took a bullet train from Tokyo Station to Osaka. More train lines, more levels, more confusion for me. fantastic place.
Geat video. I, too, was lost in Shinjuku Station on my first trip to Japan. On the second trip I stil got confused but finally found my way out of the east gate to see Godzilla. On the east side we followed the same pathways and we both had to backtrack. I never made it to the south exit where that viewing plaza is. Maybe next time. Thanks.

Yeah, Kabukicho is actually part of Shinjuku. The proof is that there is a Shinjuku ward offce in the middle of this town. In fact, Kabukicho is in the middle of Shinjuku ward.
Amazing and not unexpected. It shows how archaic and outdated NYC transit and such infrastructure is. Butt then again, even TTC (notwithstanding much smaller size of system), and PATH, outshines NY by a 'mile'!
the place is Dated it is alright for young people what about older folks to much walking they would never make it not seat in sight or walk belts where is the food hands down bad for everyone these people will get old some day bigger does not make better
Everything spotless and well lit; the ladies well-dressed, as were New York women 70 years ago; people polite and purposeful; many signs in English; and no bums about. This whole area must have been blasted to Hell during World War II. Thank you, Mr. Strides!
Any homeless or vagrants hanging out in and around the station? Maybe that's why Toronto doesn't have clean facilities or any ( didn't use or notice last time I was there). That's the issue in LA, with the Metro stations. Crazy, drug adled and violent people in that subway. Compared to LA, Toronto's subway system is heaven.
Imagine having to endure this awful crowded maze each day to/from work, with overcrowded trains and overcrowded stations. maybe as a one-time tourist attraction - but such stations are truely awful. I see so much sad depressed faces passing you there. Anyway this is why you shouldnt book a hotel next to any big station in tokyo - it will cost you in time getting lost inside and where to come out, and you will be swarmed morning and afternoon in 2-3 rush hours
Nice tour. I would definitely get lost here.

I visited both Toronto ground and Tokyo but I think Toronto path is longer in term of distance but Tokyo has more population and confusion.

Good morning
Tokyo and Taipei have washrooms at every metro station. What was the TTC thinking when they made the lines?
