We have a system for growing chics. They spend 4 weeks in a brooder. We then move them to this chicken tractor - that usually happens in late May or early June. By mid-Fall we move them to the coop and run system and integrate them with the existing flock. We start the process over again the next year.
Why not cull the mean rooster instead of allowing it to be someone else's problem. It would be far better for those traits not to be passed on and as food he's not wasted.

What do you do for the winter time? That can’t hold much heat for the chickens.

The chicken tractor is not meant for Winter time it is only meant for the growing season when there is grass to eat
@@chadthomas09 Correct. I should have mentioned that. I usually move mine to the coop and run in November before the cold winter winds kick in.

Agreed. He was given to my butcher and their daughter actually fell in love with him and has become her pet. Weird to me, but it seemed to work out.
