    The Success of Tim Burton's Batman forced Burton to do Batman Returns. The roles of Villains portrayed in Batman Returns. Danny Devito as The Penguin, Michelle Phiffer as Catwoman/Selina Kyle and Christopher Walker as The greedy Businessman Max Schrek. but in Batman Forever which was directed by Joel Schumacher in 1995, the role of The Riddler went to Jim Carrey.

    Bob Kane may have gotten the initial idea for Bat-Man...but he never wrote any of the stories. The first writers were Bill Finger and Gardner Fox. They provided many of the ideas credited here to only Bob Kane. Kane had more and more help drawing with people like Jerry Robinson, Sheldon Moldoff and Dick Sprang. Although all stories were signed Bob Kane regardless of who drew or wrote it, Kane's only function was outlining splash panels by the mid-1940s. Commissioner Gordon appeared from Day One,Robin first appeared in 1940,as did villains Joker and Catwoman. The Penguin first appeared in 1941, Alfred first appeared in 1943 and the Riddler(and Vicki Vale)first appeared in 1948.

      The more I read and watch interviews from other comics artists and writers about Bob Kane, the more he looks like a pure charlatan. Apparently, his original sketch of Batman in the red outfit was actually traced over a picture of Flash Gordon, and when asked to draw comics panels on a deadline, he would often hire someone else to do it because (and I'm only passing along what other artists who worked with him have said publicly) he couldn't even draw that well.

    • @philipdefibaugh5683
      @philipdefibaugh5683 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @electricfootballhero1349 Kane was worse than a Charleton. He screwed Bill Finger out of millions and, after the 40s, stopped drawing the Batman comic, but STILL took credit for them. The real artist was Sheldon Moldoff.

    Roddy McDowall (16:59) loved playing the Bookworm (although he said the costume was very hot to wear). He wrote a letter to William Dozier to tell him how much he loved doing the show and hoped to do more of them in the future. Unfortunately by the second season, the budget was cut and he was never asked to return again

    Just for the record, and in case nobody has already mentioned it, the information about the TV Batmobile sounds incorrect. The original dream car was the Lincoln Futura, which had been custom built with a budget of something like $150,000 or more in 1955. After years of car shows and at least one movie appearance _(It Started With A Kiss),_ the Futura was eventually sold to Hollywood car customizer George Barris, who subsequently spent $15,000 modifying it to become the original TV Batmobile. Barris then made a few replicas for different applications during the run of the series. In 2013, George Barris sold the original TV Batmobile at auction for $4.62 million.
