    Wow! You have done an awesome job. You inspired me. Inside of it looks so cozy and comfy. The bathroom with composting
    toilet is great. the counter kitchen is very spacious. The windows are awesome. This is the cutest set ups I have ever seen.
    I like everything inside. So functional. I really enjoyed watching your video from the beginning up to the end,
    Thank you for sharing this video with us. God bless to you and stay healthy.

    You've got one of the best vardo designs I've ever seen. I've known many vardo dwellers, and I am planning to build my own as my home for my retirement. You've inspired me more than most of the TH-camrs I've watched on this subject. I especially liked your concept for the bed. I must compliment you on your trailer restoration, also. A tube steel-framed trailer is very rigid, and after two years of research, I've concluded it to be the best option for tiny homes on wheels. I can't say enough good things about your build. I'm definitely subscribing and watching the rest of your videos, now. Thank you for sharing your masterpiece. A vardo is truly a work of art in which you can live. You are an amazing artist of the genre.

    Take a bar of soap to the inside of the area where the table slides in and out, this works on cabinet drawers that groan.

    Thanks for showing the step by step construction of how these moving homes etc. come to be from trailer to finish. But I was kinda disappointed that it was not dressed out to the nines. As a female and a designer. I was hoping to see the bed looking all plushed out encased in like the sleeve. More voulmn
    in the cushions. Making the bedding be more inviting. Much longer curtains and similar period lighting. But truly remarkable and in-depth information on the process that allows one to move from point a to point b. Thank you. Next one if you make another please make it to period look.!!!

    I have been hoping to get to see the final build. It turned out great. It is hard to believe that you did this ground up build in 5 1/2 months and most of that in the winter. The colors you used for the decorations are perfect for this style of camper. Congratulations on keeping the weight so low. If you get all the hardware and tools out of there, you may lose another 50 or so pounds.

    I hope you share some footage of your first camping excpirince in the Vardo. I hope you enjoy meeting new people, because I believe you will have lots of visitors knocking on the camper door wanting to check it out at the campground.

    Just a comment. I had my batteries in an enclosed space under the bed in our tiny house r. v. The batteries were wet lead acid 6 volt trojans. They boiled on me, and the acid vapour destroyed everything in there, plus I had to replace some of the wood as it became impregnated with acid vapours. I put a sealed box around the batteries, and vented them to the outside. (the batteries are still accessible from inside for maintenance: I found, from a forum online, even if they are sealed, or A.G.M., they still should be vented, so you may want to confirm that with a professional before believing it) I have built a couple tiny houses, and now am building a gypsy wagon to sell as I ran out of money to finish the fifth wheel I am working on now. (the banker, also known as wife, said no more from our personal account until I get some more saved up) I am really impressed with your wagon, and how you were able to reuse so much stuff. I hope you post a few videos when you get to use it. I never drive by a construction dumpster without checking it out. Totally embarrasses the "banker"

    • @deepbeeps
      @deepbeeps  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You are absolutely correct. I forgot to mention that I already bought a vent witch will be cut into the side right beside the batteries. I got the type used to vent a house crawl space.

    I've been thinking of building a really primitive camper (shell basically) and I've really struggled finding a trailer wide enough. The way you made it wider above the trailer and didn't have to worry about the trailer fenders, really like the design!

Could they have been placed out side in a box on the tongue? Will your fridge door have enough room to swing out? I like your idea of having the grey water tank outside under the trailer.

    Looks great! I may have miss it but how did you attach the aluminum sheeting to the plywood?

      I used small nails on all edges, then set the wood trim over the seams and nail heads.

    Never heard of a sawdust toilet. If it works as well as my natural pine pellet cat litter box you will never have a smell. Would like to know how much you spent on building it and how many hours you put in. I would love one like this but would have to pay someone to build for me. This is perfect size for just me.

    Just found your video. Love your design, finished work and your knowledge. Thank you for sharing. Now I find I must ask...why are you selling such a wonderful piece of art?

      We are just too busy around the homestead in the summer to get out with her very much. She needs to go to someone who will use her and enjoy her more.

    Great job! I love the wood colors inside! Absolutely Brilliant! What was the cost of this project?

      Thank you! I had about $2500 in it when finished.

      Sorry, my wife corrected me. She is the one that kept track so she knows better. She said it was $3500, not $2500.

    Nice build. After 4 years, what kind of maintenance have you done on it? How is it going? I'm considering building one and I'm curious how others builds have held up and what direction I should go in.

      Thank you, well, after using it for one summer we decided we really didn't like camping that well. We live in the country and can sit around a camp fire drinking beer without paying $40 to $50 a nite to do it. So....we sold the Vardo. When I built it I tried to use materials that would need little to no maintenance. That is why I used a rubber roof and aluminum over the plywood sides.

    hey there! epic! love it! JUst wondering if the aluminum flashing is necessary? couldnt i just seal the wood with a lacker or paint?

    • @deepbeeps
      @deepbeeps  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could. It just requires more upkeep and maintenance, but would work fine.

    Great video. I subscribed to see some of the others. I have some questions about the electrical. First, did you need an electrician to wire it since you have to get the vardo safetied? Second, how are you charging the batteries? Third, do you have a separate mains panel for the batteries? The one you showed was for the AC. Thanks and thanks again for the video!

      Hi Frank, I did not need an electrician. I have lots of experience in residential wiring, but nobody even asked or checked it. I am charging the deep cycle battery with a trickle charger when plugged into AC. There is a main panel on the AC coming in with 2 -15 amp circuits and 1- 20 amp circuit. The DC only supplies the pump for the sink. It has an inline fuse.

    I like your vardo very much, including the bathroom. But instead of having the drawers there I would have put in a shower.

    For a Swede that's using the metric system, I gotta ask if that weigh is in kilos or what you guys are using. Because sometimes you do use the metric system, like in road related stuff, am I right? Anyways thanks for the video.
