You know Chinese union just stand away from 40-hour work policy after the US-Sino diplomacy built up . Yes There were quite a lot of volunteer work for free on weekends for many public construction in poor situation back then in the 50s and 60s, but it's for the community and transparent.
我原来以为你们真是每周40小时工作制,可是我在小红书才发现原来你们是一份工作40小时工作制,而很多人常常做着不止一份工作
There will be riots all over China by hourly paid workers if a 40 hour work week is enforced. East Asians in general do not mind working long hours, they will severely mind any policy or organisation that limits their ability to generate more income. Can’t speak for others but I’ve been doing 70-80 hour weeks for decades, I don’t mind but I am compensated handsomely for it. I still remember an incident when I was in the Philippines that my Chairman had to send people to the datacenter to drag me out to attend Christmas dinner, you know Catholic country Jesus very important, after I refused to leave work twice because my China and Taiwan customers were setting up equipment so that they can fly home for New Years. Technically Xmas is a public holiday so I was not getting paid to attend to customers on that day but I did it because of 2 things, sense of responsibility to customers and also to let my staff off since they all catholic and I’m not.

I am a friendly Chinese, I have a little question I would like to ask Americans, is your school cost and medical expenses really as expensive as those people in the Little Red Book said recently? I heard that your college tuition loan is very high, and then you work 8 hours a day, five days a week?
學費這東西有點小複雜. There’s private vs public schools. There’s in-state vs out-of-state tuitions. Then within state there’s different school systems, for example in California: there’s UC, Cal States, community colleges, etc. Besides loans there’s also a thing called grants. But medical, bad😂
My husband and I have both been nurses in the USA for almost 20yrs.
I can say confidently that the medical bills are incredibly expensive when you are in the working and middle class. The very poor in our country get free healthcare through a program called Medicaid. The working and middle class pay a tax so the poor can get medical care, but they cannot afford to see the doctor themselves because they must buy private health insurance on their own after they pay for the poor to have insurance first. Private health insurance costs hundreds and thousands of dollars to have each month. Then when you do get sick you owe a lot more money before insurance will help pay a certain percentage of the bill. Often the insurance will try to find a way to not pay for anything when you need care even though you have paid for months or years to have insurance with them by making up excuses to not cover necessary medical care.
How much do things cost in healthcare? Sooo much! They would charge patients with private insurance at one hospital where my husband worked at many years ago as much as $90 for one regular tylenol (acetaminophen) pill. Getting three stitches in our son's chin a few years ago costed about $6000 as we had to go to the ER since it happened after the doctor's offices were all closed. Basic medicines that cost just $30 to make can be charged for $3000, so the businesses can profit. The nurses and doctors do not make a lot of money, they are taken advantage of too just like the patients often are. These are just a few examples. A quick ambulance ride to the hospital can cost literally tens of thousands of dollars.
**Also the hospital will not tell you how much your medical treatments will cost often. Sometimes you can find out, but other times they won't tell you. The issue is that the hospital is allowed to charge different prices for the exact same things depending on what they think they can get your private insurance to pay up (or you). So one person might be charged $100 for a bandage, but another person will be charged just $10 for the same bandage...and you cannot argue or protest this unfairness as a customer/patient much.
Some Americans work 5 days a week, 40 hours, but many of us have two or three jobs, so we are working well over 40 hours a week (50 to 60hours a week). Nurses will usually work 12.5- 13hr long shifts (sometimes without a meal break or any break), but since the shifts are longer the nurses work 3 to 4 days a week and are considered full time workers. Lots of nurses work extra shifts though to make ends meet.
We have a teenage son and we homeschool him. We are planning his next steps for college as he is two years ahead of schedule, so I have been examining college costs. At a state funded school it costs around $11,000 to 30,000 a year just for tuition alone in our state. The private schools cost around $33,000 to $50,000 per year just for tuition. There are community colleges where you can receive the first two years of college as cheaply as possible, and that costs about $4,000 to 7,000 a year.
We are taxed heavily, so whatever we make working we will lose around 50% of our pay total to all of our taxes, yet we do not have health insurance coverage, or much funding for college, vocational schools, etc. We should be getting more services or paying much less in taxes when I compared the USA to other countries like the UK. Housing and food are also very expensive as well in addition to the healthcare and college. The very wealthy billionaires pay a lower tax rate percentage than do the people who work and labor, because they lobbied the government to make their ways of investing to earn money have a lower tax rate than laboring for money.
@@jercasgav OMFG
@@jercasgavYou’re not only paying taxes for poor people. It’s a minuscule amount. And most of that help comes from cooperations. Your $40 a week in taxes is not gonna impact you.

For salaries ranging from 66000 to 96000 yuan, the tax rate is 35%.
The portion of salary exceeding 96000 yuan is subject to a tax rate of 45%.
If the tax is too high, we will be very angry. I have read a lot of your introductions, and the average salary is between 2500-4000 US dollars. Thanks to our industrial capabilities, spending 100 RMB may be better than the industrial goods and vegetable foods you can buy for $100 (meat is cheaper in the United States). Of course, this does not include the Apple phones you sell haha. We believe we can try our best to completely replace American products.

@fajarkurniawan9434 People and governments use social media to express and support political causes all over the world.
Well, the Chinese people like to use red to represent festivity during the Spring Festival and festivals. But before Chairman Mao Zedong, the emperor used yellow to represent nobility and royalty, and the common people could not use yellow, otherwise they would be sentenced to death. Because the new China established by Mao Zedong was a revolutionary regime that raised the red flag and sacrificed blood, the national flag and party flag are mainly red with yellow stars added. In 1944, there was a selection of Mao Zedong's works in Yan'an, but it was not in red. So, if China had copyright laws in that era and the copyright belonged to Mao Zedong, then now the "Little Red Book APP" would have to be renamed. The above is my oral history.
