Great to see Technics back in the non-turntable game again. Nice to see equipment from Panasonic again; the nostalgia these bring to this old man is very welcome. I hope you sell loads of these; they brighten the world of recorded music.
Fernando hands down is very thorough and continues to educate the audiophile community. He is truly fun to watch and is very passionate about explaining technical information pertaining to gear. The technics su-R1000 is a masterpiece and so is Fernando.. Bravo for the great video.
Been using mine for 2 years now. And it keeps making me smile. Had to replace all my tube gear and went with the technics su-r1000 Never looked back. It’s a masterpiece ❤
It all depends what you're looking for. If you like the sound of Tube (distortion) then go ahead. I got my SU-R1000 also 2 years ago. It's absolutely wonderful! The sound is so clean. It stay in the digital domain just like every modern studio does. I started with Monitor Audio Platinum PL300's, but sold those and got the wonderful Pearl Acoustis Sibelius Loudspeakers from Belgium. Using the LAPC feature gives these speakers such realism. I will keep this Amp and speakers 'till I die. They're endpoints for me. Just wonderfull ❤😊

Hi Fernando. I'm a 68 year old subscriber. I have a vintage SX 950 system I purchased in college in 1977. Love your channel even though you are over my price point. Keep up the good work. Barry
Techniques has always been a magnificent brand with magnificent engineering for consumer grade electronics. My first integrated amplifier as a kid at the tender age of 12 was a techniques. I’m 56 now. I think the newer GaN FET digital modules are something to behold. I’m a tube guy, but I have a Java integrated amp out of New Zealand that uses the same modules techniques uses and it is spectacular. It soundstages and has the tone and texture that is tubelike. Well done techniques!
Thanks Fernando for the nice, comprehensive video about this integrated. Couple of huge points, IMHO, the attention paid to the phono and a rec in/out! More manufacturers should pay more attention to this. BUT, as long as we are seeing a returning of R2R and K7, not only one but a COUPLE of these connections were very very much appreciated! Keep up the great work!
This has to be the best looking amplifier I've seen. Very simple looking but hypnotic once your eyes catch it. If I was guaranteed this unit could get a lifetime of service like McIntosh, I would get one. But dropping down $10,000 and 5-10 years later it needs service with no one to fix it. I'd have to think very hard before buying.
Big Technics fan here. This is a beautiful piece. I'm sure it sounds great. But I would like to see them offer an all analog AM/FM receiver again, someday, for us nostalgic types.
Always thankful for the videos. I have a very similar set up for my townhouse, also here in Miami. Marantz 40n, klipsch RP 600mMII, Flunace RT85N with 12AWg speaker cables… all under $4000
Thank you Fernando! Love that you added chapters to the video so I could watch the sections that I was most interested in. Prefer with LAPC on, sounded less fatiguing and warmer. It's a good combination of products. Doesn't have the tube appeal but certainly sounded very clean, clear and detailed.
Great video. I recently purchased this amplifier about a year ago and run it with a Hi-Fi Rose 130B Streamer connected using a single Ansuz P2 Coaxial cable with Audio Physic Spark speakers (4ohm), a single TX/9 REL Subwoofer and upgraded power supplies. This is very clean and nimble sounding amplifier with little to no colouration. The noise floor is completely inaudible, zero noise, with bags of detail and effortless power. I absolutely love it. There's some snobbery regarding this amplifier being expensive and labelling it as Class D. It's 100% digital and sounds great, and that should be the main criteria. I could have brought the Luxman L-509z, Michi X5, Hegal H600 or the Accuphase 5-500. I choose this because of it's high build quality, exemplary engineering but most of all, its sound, and it saved me a few pounds. I don't tinker or experiment with equipment so I'll have this setup for years. Low volumes are flashed out beautifully, and if I drive it hard, I can crank it up to around 105db without strain at around 80% (-20) of its power. I'm surprised this amplifier doesn't get more love. It's outstanding and well worth the money. I may at some point buy a Technics turntable but the Rose is very convenient. IMO, it's one of the best amplifiers you can buy for the money at around the 10K price-point.
After all the details you go through explaining the products, it would be next to impossible for me to question the quality of SkyFi's service. Each video goes into minute details. I am not in the market for an integrated amp, but as I've shared with you before, many manufacturers have been able to overcome major old weaknesses. No one questions the flexibility of separates, yet integrated amps do offer good to great flexibility, with a DAC to go with it. A few even provide bass management. A big thank you from Ohio.
Hey thanks so much for watching and recognizing how much care goes into each piece. Yes indeed, products keep getting better, cant wait to see what's next from Technics. They are taking risks and moving the market forward.
Was at Axpona last year and noted Technics is working to move it to Accuphase and Luxman territory. This is one gorgeous amp …..I am currently running a Mark Levinson 585.5. Twice the price….killer phono pre-amp. Sounds like you really love the phono section in the Technics.
So im watching and listening this via a 40 inch sony tv and i could still make out a huge difference when the lapc is in. And a favourable one at that. Very nice.
I’ve been hooked on Technics for over 30 years I still have my turntable from 78 cd player cassette deck pre and power amps from 94. Sadly the remotes don’t function any more and I can’t find replacement but the sound quality is still superb. I’d love to own this new integrated amp and the 1200G turntable but at 72 I’m not sure I want to make the investment. I enjoy your videos and the attention to detail.
