    I have this wild theory that this episode has anything to do with the toclafane. In the established timeline we know that they're stuck at the end of the universe. What if they either, at some point, decided to evolve on their own, or what if the master came back for them? The reason I got this theory is because the tardis was sent towards some random point in time and ran off scared after knowing where it was; the last time it encountered the toclafane, it was butchered into a paradox machine...

    I have a particular theory - remember some months ago we had those 3 glitchy teaser snippets with reversed dialogue?
    The dialogue lines seem to be linked to the episode footage that was shown. For example, the Star Beast teaser had dialogue of 14 saying 'Cryptic, I hate that' - wouldn't you know, he says it at the end of the episode.
    The third teaser is very obviously Toymaker related, as the reversed dialogue is 14, again, saying 'Giggle in everyone's head...'
    For Wild Blue Yonder, I already suspect there will be some sort of wider Time Lord/Gallifrey discussion. The reversed dialogue from that teaser is... (drumroll please)...
    'She mentioned Gallifrey' 👀

      Yes!! At the time most people thought this was a reference to Donna. But now we know that can't be the case. It's so intriguing!

    This is the one I am probably most excited (or at least interested) to see! It's weird because I went from "oh Matt Smith is gonna be in this!" to accepting he won't be and then suddenly thinking he might be again! I know he probably isn't in it but I genuinely think that the villains of the episode could be Matt Smith and Karen Gillan!

      Tennant said that there is an incident with an apple. And the only apple I can think of is the one that young Amy gave the Doctor. So there's that.

    I've heard a theory that Wild Blue Yonder's mysterious villain could possibly be the Wirrn due to the dried liquid that is seen leaking out of the vent which does look similar to the one the Wirrn larvae had and insect-like noises being heard in the new clip that was released today if you listen very closely, and I do think the Wirrn is a very good shout because not only are they horrific and make your skin crawl just like any normal insect would, but the scary nature of this episode also matches it, plus they are classic as well which makes sense to bring them back due to the anniversary, as well as it being set on a similar location, an almost completely abandoned spaceship in the middle of nowhere that is being infiltrated, and perhaps the friendly-looking robots are the only ones left so they must help the Doctor and Donna escape the Wirrn before they are transformed just like all the crew members were. As for appearances by other characters, I do believe there is a possibility of Carole Ann Ford as Susan Foreman so she can be reunited with her grandfather, and as someone else mentioned, the possibility of other Doctors (Smith, Capaldi etc.) showing up as evil clones or puppets of themselves secretly designed by the Toymaker to help the Wirrn hunt them all down also sounds pretty crazy, only time will tell though, it always does in Doctor Who! By the way, I really did love The Star Beast and thought it was a great introduction to new fans as well as a nice starter to get us all back into the feel of things again so yeah, I am very much looking forward to the next two 60th specials, it can only get better from here!

      I agree about the Wirrn being the threat in this episode for these exact reasons, plus RTD loves the Ark in Space and has stated it is his favorite Doctor Who story ever and an inspiration to how he has written Doctor Who in the past (you can see that inspiration in Midnight and Waters of Mars for sure), so why wouldn't he want to try and make a modern remake of it with better effects. I think it's absolutely going to be a Wirrn episode. The director has called the episode a mix of Alien and the Thing, and the Wirrn fit that description perfectly. I doubt any Doctors will appear, because they would probably detract too much from the focus on Donna, but Susan I could see coming back, because it has been teased a bit by RTD on social media. I think if they won't bring Susan back for the 60th, they won't ever bring her back. This is their last chance and it would be a mistake not to tell one last story with Susan.

      Bringing back the Wirrn for the 60th would be such a brilliant move from RTD, and it's by far my favourite theory surrounding Wild Blue Yonder.

    It would be funny if the episode just turned out to be a Moffat RTD1 or Midnight-like episode after all the hype. I hope not tho because it’s being kept secret till it airs and there should be an episode focusing on the anniversary of the show like The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors, (technically) Silver Nemesis, The Day of the Doctor and The Power of the Doctor (which was more of an episode celebrating the BBC’s 100th) but you never know.

      I would be very happy to receive a Moffat RTD1 or Midnight-like episode. Would like to see each special be very individual with distinct styles, it would be an alternative way of celebrating the show's history.

    As excited as I am for Ncuti I hope they save him for The Giggle and leave Wild Blue Yonder for past Doctors. I know he keeps saying he isn’t coming back I do think Peter Capaldi could be bluffing ( perhaps he signed an NDA) I think we could be getting something similar to the BF’s Zagreus where past Doctor actors play different possibly evil versions of their Doctors. Perhaps that’s what the prosthetics are for?

    • @StetsonDoctor
      @StetsonDoctor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Zagreus theory is a really good shout, I've had similar thoughts myself! It would certainly explain Tennant's comments about how the casting is "specific" and doesn't manifest itself in the way you might expect...

    I noticed that on the Whoniverse site they have added screen caps for the whole of the episodes for Wheel In Space and I was watching the first episode and it seems similar to Wild Blue Yonder. The Tardis catches fire and they end up on a spaceship where there is a robot and just the Doctor and Jamie. The Wheel in Space is a cybermen story.

    I keep hearing rumours of the Wirrn, which I actually wouldn't mind 😂 I'm not expecting any multi Doctor content. I'll be happy if I'm wrong but we'll see 😂

    • @StetsonDoctor
      @StetsonDoctor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, the Wirrn theory has really picked up traction this week! I think that shot of the metal grille in the trailer is what set it off. It would be a lovely surprise to see them redesigned for the 21st century.

    I have this crackpot theory that it's somehow the 15th Doctor's TARDIS and that 14 and Donna got zapped a little ways into the future. We know Ncuti Gatwa is going to be in these specials at some point, and this would be a really surprising way to introduce him.

  • @adamfreddo5703

    I can imagine Russell looking at Moffat bringing back the Zygons for the 50th and thinking he could do the same for the Wirrn for the 60th.

    I do think Ncuti might be the likeliest Doctor to appear in this episode, everyone else feels too soon or too busy to appear and they are marketing Ncutis Doctor a fair bit with the Christmas Special pics & title being released even with the 60th Specials still going on and Millie Gibson was cast for Ruby Sunday in November 2022, which has been a year, I know of course that they've filmed all of their first series now however it is possible they could have filmed a small bit together for WBY like them in the future. It could also be possible they've included Susan Twist in the Redacted actors and the other two are Ncuti Gatwa & Millie Gibson
