    Nothing beats Zencastr. Thanks so much. We were trying to record with Discord and Skype. It was a mess.

    Thanks. For a newbie remote podcaster, this is essential information

    Very helpful thanks. I had a delay on my headphones and disabling the monitor helped but I couldn't hear my voice which I can work with.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial ♥️. I made a mess of my first Zencastr recording but this should help me do better with the next one.

    Great and very beneficial video. Just for clarification, does the guest need to also download Zencastr to their computer, or will they be able to join the podcast just by opening the link? Thanks!

      @lntg 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bilal X from what I have heard they just click the link you send them and it’s all online:) I’ll edit this if I’m wrong cos I’m getting this tonight!

      Zencastr actually does not have a Desktop or mobile app. No download required! They are built as a web app so that guests don't have to download any new apps or do any setup. Simply send a link and your guest can join!

    Thank you for the video! A couple of questions:
    - How different would XLR Microphone sound?
    - Is are version any different from the paid?
    - Would you be able to edit the recorded tracks in GarageBand?

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the questions!
      = It depends on the mic but if you have an audio interface, then the mic would use those preamps so it should sound better than a USB mic.
      - There is a free version of Zencastr, you can find the details on the different plans here: zencastr.com/pricing
      - Yes, once you finish your recording you will have separate tracks that you can download and edit.

    Really great video. Any recs for 2-in-1 mic and headphone headset other than the ear buds? Or general specs for a headset? Thanks!

  • @KimberlyBanksHamptonPublishing

    Thanks for the video. I am wondering if there is anything else required to make the sound quality that sounds like you the host, rather than the guest. There is a slight difference. I have a Blue Yeti microphone which is usb...what will i need to make sure my sound quality is top notch

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kimberly, thanks for your question! This is a very common problem with remote recordings: The host audio sounds great but the guest audio sounds more like a phone call. In a perfect world, it's best for both the guest and host to record using a high-quality microphone. We recommend using a dynamic microphone because it will pick up less of the room/background sound. The Samson Q2U and Audio Technica ATR2100 are two great options to start with. Both mics are under $100. Ideally you can have both you and your guest recording on a microphone. I hope this response still helps. Thanks!

    If I am hosting a composer on my podcast and I want to play some of their music during the show, how can I do that during the show without having to do post show editing?

    • @impatrickt
      @impatrickt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can upload audio files and you get a sound board at the top.

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Patrick got it exactly right in his comment: You can use the Zencastr Soundboard feature to load up previously recorded audio files and play them during the recording session with your guest.

    Are the .wav files for the guest the same quality on both ends (host and guest) so there is no need to ask the guest to send their locally recorded .wav file over to the host for post-production? Many thanks!

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! That's the beauty of Zencastr. The audio records locally on everyone's individual computers and it progressively uploads to the cloud as you record so that the host can download all the files.

    As a guest, will my Android tablet work? I have a built-in mic. and Chrome. And is there a way to test ahead of time?

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately Zencastr currently only works on the web browser version on a computer. You could try opening the link on your tablet and it will let you know if it will or will not work. Hope this helps!

    Will the Audio Technica ATR2500 work?

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! We love Audio-Technica's USB microphones and highly recommend them. You can use any mic that is compatible with your computer to record on Zencastr.

  • @AlanKippingRuane
    @AlanKippingRuane 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why do you recommend the Audio Technica microphones versus say the Rode NT-USB Desktop Mic

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Alan, the Audio Technica USB/XLR mic is a dynamic microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern. This style of mic will pick up much less room/background noise than a large diaphragm condenser mic like the Rode NT-USB. If you have a treated room that is very quiet or a studio space, the Rode NT USB condenser mic could work great. Since most podcasters are recording in a spare bedroom, closet, or office space a dynamic mic is a better fit for these settings. We also like that the AT mics double as an XLR mic and sound great going into a Zoom H6 or your favorite interface.

    I am starting a podcast with three friends and four different locations. We are using two iPhones and two android phones. Will this work or do we all have to be on PCs?

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately Zencastr does not work on mobile. You have to record on a computer. The same is true for a lot of their competitors too. If you want to record phone calls, I'd recommend checking out our video on how to record calls here: th-cam.com/video/lMyJpIQyBLs/w-d-xo.html
      If you want to find more ways to record a call, check out our blog here: resonaterecordings.com/podcast-production/how-to-record-phone-calls/

    So the remote guest has to set up their mic on the settings also on their end?

    • @ResonateRecordings
      @ResonateRecordings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Ideally both you and your guest should use the "health check" feature to make sure you get the very best audio quality.
