    Over the years, there wasn't hardly any snow until January. If I was still a skier, I wish I was, I would be loving the conditions now.
    I almost moved to SLT when it was affordable, but now, since the last 2 years in Reno and Tahoe, there is no way I could. :(
    Thanks for your lovely photos and videos 💙

    You do a great job. Your honesty about Lake Tahoe in this video was very informative. I live for winter and snowplay - so I enjoyed the perspective. You are a very good story teller.

    Heavy snow is much more tolerable when you have a garage for your car... :) And Lynn probs doesn't have to deal with 6 feet of snow in a night! Overall, good list. These are the downsides to living here.

    I’m moving to South Lake Tahoe soon and your point about jumping good rental deals is spot-on. Trying to find a good place was super stressful.
    I’m also moving solo from the Midwest and am a bit nervous about the feeling of isolation since I don’t know anyone there. I appreciate the tips on that topic!

    Snow is a bit of work, but the backcountry snowboarding and snowmobiling is next level. Worth it if you look at it as fun. I'm used to Mammoth, so Tahoe is relatively tame, even at it's worst. For fires, that is California as a whole, not just Tahoe. I've had 3 homes burn down in So Cal. Tahoe prices are like Mammoth. You pay a premium for the beauty, just like Park City, Vail, etc. For dry air, again, that is basically 99% of Calif and high desert. But, it is not buggy, muggy, or sticky. For UV rays, standard for California and desert, especially high desert and high elevation. Mammoth is worse. If you knew how many mega rich people are around Tahoe(mostly the Nevada side), it's for the same reason you mention. Not far from the Bay area, and with Reno-Tahoe so close, it is easy to travel or just go to the malls and shopping.. Something Mammoth doesn't have, although Mammoth airport has good flight access to most major hubs. All in all, it is pretty hard to beat the area. I mean, you can surf the ocean, snowboard, wakeboard, dirt bike, snowmobile in shorts and a tanktop all on July 4th in the Sierras. Some years 365 days.
    Where else can you do that?

      100 percent! the beauty and outdoor adventure makes its worth it..i think the snow this year is a bit overwhelming for someone who isnt used to it..either way i'm still here 😀😀

    Thank You for the interesting video. I believe every place has its good thing, and bad side, is up to you how you Heart feels about a place. What you described it's pretty much Australia, adding the regular overwhelming floodings. So in summer time here you have fires, and as of now (summer time here in Australia, tropic of Capricorn) the weather feels like if you are in a pressure cooker! UV rays ☀️ are pretty intense here. Winter time Lots of rain and flooding. Despite the downturns you choose a beautiful place to live! Not many people have this privilege in their lifetime. Enjoy!

    Slightly off topic but I bought one of the best vehicles I've owned in S. Lake Tahoe. It was actually in Meyers and I got a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer V8 (Ford Explorer twin) back in late 2009. Got me through three tough Tahoe winters without problems and hardly cost me anything except gas. Sold it for barely less than I paid for it.

    Do you know why it’s so dry there? There’s a big lake with water? Is it the altitude that makes it dry? What about neighboring cities? Are they dry too? Does a humidifier help a bit?

    • @GabriellaViola
      @GabriellaViola  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure really, i know that Nevada is the driest state in the US, and even though it doesn't look like a desert I believe Tahoe is technically high desert. I think that's what i read anyway 😂😂😂....i have used a humidifier, and i really don't think they make a noticeable difference in my experience.
