The fact that he is only 20 years old is unbelievable. It may be hazy due to Alcaraz's overly active career, but top 4 at 20 is an amazing achievement. His prime years have not yet begun. I am very excited to see how he will develop and what his achievements will be.
These highlights really show how complete he is but above all how his fighting spirit might be his greatest asset. I think what's what meant Djokovic when he said they are similar. Anyway, best luck for 2024 🔥
Intriguing player. His forehand can be a weapon but it has long spells of not quite clicking, but then he can win Murray-style through smart shot selection and defense. So it seems that if he can win without necessarily having the biggest weapons, if a few things do improve he ought to be able to dominate. But we shall see.
I have a similar yet very different analysis. He CAN win in a lot of different ways, and as much as that is a strength, it feels to me to be a weakness. He lacks identity on the court, maybe it’s the Nadal fan in me but it doesn’t feel like you can win at the very highest level that way, you win with your weapons on your terms, not by changing everything when it doesn’t work at first

When Murray won slams he'd managed to improve his forehand... briefly it looked almost good, just about a weapon, but somehow he never consolidated that technique, and since has looked woefully underpowered. There's something about Rune's unsual forehand mechanics that seem to work only when the ball is in the ideal strike zone, and outside of that it all goes a bit awry. I don't know if it's a technical flaw or just needs a bit of time for slight improvement.

His match against ruud at the French open is a prime example of why I don’t like it, constantly changing tactics to find a win when maybe that big forehand of his could of done it if he just stuck with it and figured it out
