The outside style is the reason I bought a 2013 Pilot, the Nissan Pathfinder looks like a blob, the Mazda and infinity look like mini vans. The Pilot looks like a proper suv, YOU NEED TO GET YOUR EYES CHECKED! 5,6, 7 years down the road, the Pilot looks much better than the other 3. Don’t like your opinion on the looks of a proper looking suv as the Pilot.
Boxy style = A death rap. In the crash test for the front right the car got a poor rating. Also like the boxy Nissan Quest it is also a death trap they tested it and the leg of the crash test dummy was stuck in the parking brake.
@@nicholasrana1819 Nissan quest? That's a van . Different type of vehicle. Boxy look like the Toyota 4 runner or the older style nissan pathfinder did good in crash ratings .
I thought for sure you were going to mention the Shifter placement, as well as the Audio Interface on the screen. Can't stand both of these on my Pilot. Personally I find the 3rd row accessibility just fine, and I'm 6'3". Boxish look to the body, is what I like when compared to other mid size SUV's. New body style (2016) looks like a lifted van, and that curvy vanish look is what every other make is going for. Pretty much all look the same to me. Good point on the trans., bugs me as well how high it revs. Last issue for me is the wheel size and clearance. I know this is no 4Runner, however I feel they are rather small compared to it's competitors. Especially since they offer 4wd, this should work hand in hand. Thanks for the vid!
+LongRyfle Thank you! Those are valid points. I did not want to bash the pilot too much because it is an excellent car. While not the best, the audio interface is usable if you have a bluetooth device connected. Also, I'm glad they fixed the shifter placement issue on the latest gen pilot.
I wouldn’t even compare this Honda to the Nissan or the infinity they’re not on Hondas level I would compare this Honda to a Tahoe or Yukon it’s big and bulky it’s a beast on the road
Hovering around 3K RPM? Only if you're exceeding 90 plus MPH. 80MPH is about 2.5K RPM, 75 around 2.2K RPMs. And regarding the audio, was the subwoofer on and the level up? Not sure what EX-L trim that is, but the EX-L and EX-L with NAV have two different audio setups. The EX-L is 229-Watts and EX-L w/NAV is 246 Watts.
Mine has the 229 watt set up! With the subwoofer and nine speakers overall!! And it has plenty bass, and excellent sound. Perhaps the speakers in his were busted. Also the Pilot has intelligent audio! Depending on the record changes the frequency tremendously.
I agree, it could use another gear or two. What speed are you doing to be at 3000rpm on the highway? I've driven SUV's with up to 10 speed trannies and they hunt even more. The manufacturers are try to get fuel economy credits here. If you use the the vertically sliding handle located on the side of the 2nd row seat back, the second row will tilt and slide. You are the second reviewer I've seen miss this. The infotainment on a lot of cars is wanting. Have you tried talking to the "lady" in a Mercedes lately. It's no better. Try speaking clearly toward the mic which is located above you. Exterior styling is of course in the eye of the beholder. This car is designed to be utilitarian and it does that very well. It has sold very well so obviously there are a lot of people that disagree with you on the exterior shape. All the cars you mentioned all look the same, as well as the new 2016 Pilot. Many people long for the old shape back. Please do some research or at least read the owner's manual before you do a review so you are more knowledgeable about the cars you review. Oh, and lose the sunglass.
I own a 2015 Pilot EX-L with the 3.5 engine. I don't think Honda offered a 5 speed trans. I've owned this vehicle for 7 years and currently have 119K miles. I always tell friends this is the last vehicle I'll own. .
I own and a 2015 Pilot EXL and give it an A- Here is my list of dislikes (none were on your list) 1> only 2 cupholders in the front. I wish there were 2 more. Each door panel could easily have one like many other vehicles do (like the 3rd Generation Pilot) 2> only way to get Navigation is to upgrade to the touring pkg. For 5 bucks I got a phone holder and pair google maps to my bluetooth instead. 3> No wiring harness (only comes installed if you buy the touring model). Seems like Honda cut a corner on that one. Perhaps the majority of the customers wont notice that right away. I didnt 😒
The reason the engine revs that high on the interstates is because if it did go into a 6th gear and Drop the RPM's down it could not or shall I say it would not have enough horsepower at lower RPM's than that to pull itself.
@@CarVisionLA "if it did go into a 6th gear" I am well aware it is a 5 speed. I own one and love it. I only wish for lower axle gearing (numerically higher ie. 3.93 vs 3.28 axle ratio) like you can easily and affordably do in say a Taho. And that it had a locking rear differential. One other thing I wish were possible is enough clearance around the break caliper and wheel wells to run a 265/75R16 all terrain tire instead of these goofy 235/60R18's. But I am just an old fart that likes the big sidewalls that they used to make. Not a fan of these bigger and bigger rims on all these newer vehicles. I know, it's a subjective issue.
You forgot the heating/cooling controls. Takes 15 minutes and 8 button/knob adjustments to get comfortable. Try it going 60 mph. Buttons to small and confusing.
I believe it’s called VCM (Variable cylinder management) It can turn off cylinders on engine to help save a fractional amount of fuel. If your cruising at steady throttle it will run engine like a 4cylinder. But if you hit the gas it turns back on all cylinders again. I’ve read that it’s better to have that VCM disabled. But obviously don’t do that if still under warranty.

Pathfinder looks dope too imo. Before 2013
I like the boxy style.
yea us too. for that purpose we didnt get a newer 2016 or higher style.

Love the boxy look. Just wish they put a more powerful engine in.
Same As The GMC Yukon

Actually the 2nd row seats slide foward to access the 3rd row. Look below you'll see the handle that slides the seat. Cruising in Pasadena huh
