Hello.Thanks. for 1Kg latex, how much silica do you used? I mostly saw that latex molds are mostly used in concrete and plaster sculptures. Is it possible to cast materials such as polyester or polyurethane in latex molds? Some people say that the latex mold is damaged by polyester and polyurethane materials? is it true? Thanks alot.
I have been trying to find out if you can paint the latex over a glass cup to make a mold? Love the video by the way. Just subscribed by the way you rock:)
yeah you can do it. But latex is very thin and flemsy. So you would have to make a mother mold. I think a better option is silicone or polyurathane. I like latex, its super flexible. But very time consuming to make something.
Unfortunately latex is so flexy that it wont hold. I regret using this latex on this piece. Definately in the future ill use silicone or polyurathane rubber
@@SculptSome Thanks@!! My issue is latex is rather cheap, but for sculpted candles, the latex mold tends to get out of shape as the wax cools down (the wax shrinks a little, and does so randomly in latex). I tried pouring at low temperature, but then the result is all marbled. That doesn't help for many models I have, especially fruits and veggie candles. Silicon works well, I usually add poly-fil to the mix and pieces of wood or plastic on the sides as to greatly reduce the amount of silicone used.
Here is one that works well www.amazon.com/Fasco-Fumed-Silica-Thickener-Quart/dp/B074Y6V7QT/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=latex+thickener&qid=1638239637&qsid=139-2308261-5947145&sr=8-2&sres=B074Y6V7QT%2CB001US2NT2%2CB00CMQDPC0%2CB08WWMC5TP%2CB00YQBYO1K%2CB08S45NCS7%2CB004WCMKA0%2CB00A695HTO%2CB07934C3RY%2CB09F5QD8KH%2CB00AZICR8U%2CB003MT0Q4Q%2CB0011TUM3E%2CB079349C6C%2CB00FBP39PC%2CB07934BYW6%2CB00NLQXXDQ%2CB015NKDPXA%2CB08T6LMKW8%2CB07GT9VSYR
Actually that was a compliment on the bird. Looked so realistic!

Is the second material natural rubber latex..?can we use precipitated silica instead of fumed silica..?
Sorry, that i dont know.
Do you spray your sculpts with a releasing agent before brushing on the latex? Thanks!
I did, but i don't think it's needed. Definately learning how to do molds. It seems the release agent might be better used on silicone
Is there a way to make latex molds without making a shell?

does this work with talcum powder??
Yes it does. You can mix even fiberglass you cut. Now that ive done latex stuff i prefer polyurathane, its so much better for molds.
BIRD KILLER!!
:D
PS what is ur opinion on thixotropy agent?
Link to the thickener please
It would have been nice if he answered you. I have the same question.

If you look up fumed silica on amazon, you will get a bunch of them
@@SculptSome thank you this is very helpful
