Where Hardwell recently made his return to the live stage early 2022 bracing a harder, rawer sound that caught the world’s attention, his ‘Rebels Never Die’ album-come-tour only solidified his evolving musical style and status as one of the best that has ever done it. With his return to the 2023 ULTRA Miami mainstage steamrolling in and attracting in excess of 100,000 daily views in the days that followed, over to releasing a steady sequence of stand-alone releases that are mainstages across major events and record bags worldwide, Sub Zero are his latest collaborators to rise it up. Sub Zero project are fellow Dutch producers that have proved they’ve earnt their stripes amongst some of the best, when, they were asked to step up to create the Qlimax 2018 official anthem - ‘The Game Changer’ - making them the youngest asked to craft the event anthem in history. Showcasing their unique style as one that appeals to the legions of hard fans worldwide, they have gone on to play every major event including EDC, Defqon 1, Tomorrowland, and more.
‘Judgment Day’ kicks off the dawn of reckoning with an orchestrated opening that bridges buzzing swathes of bass and hyper-vigilant synthlines, fuzzing into the consciousness to pack a bulky, dense whack between the eyes at lightning speed. It’s menacing and brash as before you know it, an alarming, looming vocal echoes that “You can run or hide far away/ but no one escapes judgment day”, delivering as a cautionary message of what is next to come. As things take a turn for the rave around the halfway mark, ‘Judgment Day’, brings an unwavering, rapid pace to the body of the track, all of the elements binding together to interconnect as the ultimate, hardstyle anthem that stands as one of the most intense of the year.

definitely my favourite hard track in quite a while. one thing that caught me off guard from it was the break, I really wasn't expecting it to be that good or for even to be much of one there. I'm listening to this over and over after doing the same with the rips from the live shows before. hq is a whole different trip, last drop is absolutely insane, love the addition of the high pitched percussions, familiar with szp and the genre. can't wait for acid next! :D
