They are too old. They wanted to do a younger Drake. Why would anyone complain about ridiculous action scenes in an Uncharted movie? The souce material is full of them!
idk, when people say movie adaptation, you cant just do exactly what the games do. At least thats what they think. The MK movie was a bit eh, but Mark looks great as Sully.

Sony was literally handed a grand slam with Nathan Fillion as Uncharted's Nathan Drake and Stephen Lang as Sully. Instead, they decided to replicate a casting so odd (Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg) it makes Nicholas Cage as Superman look proper.

@Doc Holiday dude, this isn't about fitting every detail of the game. In fact it SHOULDN'T. But how do you have a video game movie with no characters from the game?
Nothing but big facts, Brandon routh fits the role of Nathan drake and would’ve casted Harrison Ford as sully, but I don’t work for Sony entertainment🤷🏻♂️
True. Harrison Ford is the perfect role as Sully. He has the experience and the perfect age. They shouldn't have used Tom Holland far far too young for the role. Nathan Fillion is the perfect role since he looks exactly like Nathan Drake plus he has the experience and the charm. Dont these ppl know Drake took inspiration from his character.
Holland is too short. David O. Russell’s version had Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake and Robert De Niro as Sully. It’s a shame we’re never going to see that version.
Sony, you already had THE guy for the job who loves the franchise and has proved it in the fan film by how into the character he can be in pretty much every conceivable way. My ideal cast would have been to cast both of them: Tom Holland as "Young Drake", and Nathan Fillion as "Adult Drake". It's really quite simple, and would have pleased a LOT of fans, but then again pleasing gamers is never the intention with these film adaptations is it🙄 Also, No moustache = No Sully. *smh*

@TheLee he really doesn't. I like Tom Holland a lot, but he doesn't fit this role at all
@TheLee I’m fine with him playing YOUNG Nate, I don’t like that he’s going through all the things OLDER Nate went through.
The cracked voice and no resemblance to Nathan drake is killing the whole vibe
Shame. Apparently Wahlberg was supppsrd to play Nathan 12 year ago
yeah i agree they're doing nathan dirty in this movie.
yep all i heard was peter parker lol
I wish rather than casting popular actors they casted actors that at least slightly resembled the characters
@@petergriffin8062 I guess it was easier for Sony to hire an actor already contracted by Sony to a role for another franchise exclusive to Sony.
They should have hired Nathan Fillion and Stephen Lang as they did a great job on the fan film and were just about perfectly cast.
Walhberg and Holland are terribly miscast. Plus the ridiculous action scenes....(facepalm). No thanks.
Nolan North*
Fixed that for ya. Same age as Fillion, looks and sounds like Drake.
mark is actually a perfect choice for this movie but holland🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ no thanks he can stay with this mcu gimmick
They are too old. They wanted to do a younger Drake. Why would anyone complain about ridiculous action scenes in an Uncharted movie? The souce material is full of them!

What’s funny is the fan film is way better than this lol

Just another example of how hollywood executives live in a completely different world than the rest of us.

Their target audience is the same audience who has Spiderman posters above their bed.
Tom Holland looks like he's training to be a ventriloquist with how little he moves his mouth when speaking.
this is so funny!
I'm pretty sure he actually does ventriloquism
What does ven……..ist mean?
Just Like Tobey Maguire
He’s gotta keep the frog in
I still prefer the fan film with Nathan Fillion. After watching this trailer all I see is Peter Parker and the guy from Ted.
When it comes to adaptations, Sony needs to win an Oscar for its constant inability to understand its own source material.
how does this not understand the source material ? Treasure hunting, action scenes, falling from planes....it's all there.
@@MrRyukami exactly!! And people like Tom Holland don't they? They're gonna love him here too
Didn't think they could have massacred Uncharted like that
@@Beckernoodles same here
idk, when people say movie adaptation, you cant just do exactly what the games do. At least thats what they think. The MK movie was a bit eh, but Mark looks great as Sully.
I'm tired of movies going with popular actors instead of actors that actually look and fit the characters they're portraying!
Ya ik.... always easy to take the easy way out... doesn't matter if it make sense or not.... And I am saying that's a bad thing!
They should’ve cast nathan fillion as nate ffs.
Exactly this
Yes, just use the actual voice actors
I mean this is supposed to be a young Nathan
I have never seen such a missed casting, tom doesnt have nathan's gravitas, mark doesnt have sully's smooth class
Tom played as a young nathan....
Mark is horrible for sully, but I would never use the word gravitas to describe Nathan
Star power over accuracy
@@vitadude5004 well that makes a little more sense. This feels like a solo movie.

Why wasn’t Rafe casted as Jake Gylnhaal?? He looks exactly like him from the game and his style. This movie messed up big. Nathan looks like he’s in his 30’s but Tom looks like 17 🤦🏻♂️
Rafe isn't in this movie , also this movie is about Nate's early days
Because he wasn't interested, or because he had other projects going on? They can't just pick and choose actors like it's a buffet mate lol.

I'm a huge fan of Uncharted, Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, so I'm hoping this is at least is a fun popcorn flick. However, it doesn't feel like an Uncharted film. I do like Antonio Banderas as the big baddie.

Antonio Banderas as Rafe?, terrible choice imo, not that he's a bad actor.

Yes!
Why not both
There already is, it’s just not Nathan Drake
give this budget to a talented animation studio and see the wonders they can make, instead of just repeating the action pieces from the game in live action form..

I feel this is missing a certain element of grit and rust. It looks almost... disney. Like squeaky clean production. Also... I think I just saw Tom Holland defy Gravity.

it looks too much like a fantasy movie
@@ekyiquarm8633 yep
His spider senes are kicking in again, even tho its the wrong movie.
He only defied gravity because of game logic/physics so it’s fine.
this radiates the same energy as the Mario movie cast. I imagine the director just went 'Tom Holland is so cool.'
Sony was literally handed a grand slam with Nathan Fillion as Uncharted's Nathan Drake and Stephen Lang as Sully.
Instead, they decided to replicate a casting so odd (Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg) it makes Nicholas Cage as Superman look proper.
underrated comment
This is meant to be the young Nathan Drake, why would he look 30 straight away
Whats wrong with nicholas cage as superman? You never got to see what couldve been, mightve been great.
Wait Nicholas cage was ever a superman? Woah haha ha
I didn't care too much for Lang as Sully, but he is a better match than Marky Mark.

"You do realise you casted TWO actors to play Nathan Drake right?"

@Doc Holiday You must be in the wrong Convo.
He is too young for sully and Tom's voice just doesn't fit in for drake's
I agree but I can see it if they saying this him real young
@@kingtrevon5698 This is young Nathan. This is aged between 1 and the flashbacks of 4.

It's really quite simple, and would have pleased a LOT of fans, but then again pleasing gamers is never the intention with these film adaptations is it🙄
Also, No moustache = No Sully. *smh*
Ryan Reynolds could fit as Nathan Drake too
@@yuckfou514 I don't think so. Nathan Fillion is absolutely perfect.

Bad comparison tbh, Henry cavill in the Witcher is already him as a grown man. Nathan drake is meant to be younger then his video games counterpart, it would've been weird if they hired an older actor to play the role when he's meant to be younger.
