Could be your key fob. Try your spare. If you don't have one, Nissan can make you one. Worth a try....can't say that's going to solve it but just part of the troubleshooting.
@@DiaperSNiFFER for me it turned out that the back up battery that’s in the truck was dead, which is why it wasn’t reading the key. Had to get new battery and it’s working now

@@lawandawhite8469 I figured out my problem. So I didn’t known that in the truck there is another battery on the left hand side by the rear tire. That battery was dead and was the reason the key fob wasn’t being recognized. Check that battery first and see if that works for you.
There is one problem you didn't mention. I replaced the battery in both my key FOBs and then neither worked at all. Prior to doing that I had a message that said the key FOB battery was weak and that is why I changed the battery. Everything was working perfectly until I changed the battery in the key FOB. Anyway, I opened the car with the key you pull out of the FOB and inserted the FOB into that port to the left of the steering wheel on the lower dash and was able to start the car. But the FOB still did nothing like locking the car or opening anything. Another video had a procedure where you push the key fob three times against the start button, then wait ten seconds then push it against the start button 3 times again and after trying that a couple times all of a sudden the key FOB worked. I still, even with a new battery installed, get the low key FOB battery message when I start the car but for now I am just ignoring it. I have read that this stupid message is a goof ball false message and about 90% of the time the battery in the key FOB is actually fine. In fact I checked the battery with a meter and it read 3.0 volts which means it was perfectly good. I must admit that this push button start system is total garbage. The older system in my 2004 350Z if far FAR superior and less problematic. Most of this new automotive electronic technology is just a vehicle to drain your wallet for things that were never a problem in cars made before around 2004. Oh, the car I have this FOB problem with is a 2014 Infiniti Q60S with a manual transmission.
I think I’m gonna have to jump start mine because the key is working fine as far as unlocking the car goes. And it even responds to putting it next to the push button. Yet it’s still not doing a damn thing 😊

Could a dead car battery cause that?
Chances are if it's a dead or weak battery, you'll just get a weak Crank or no crank and not a key not recognized issue.
@@peterl6095 yeah no crank right now, but it I had a no key recognized message on the low crank
Low voltage yes it will/can
