Ian moonie, my understanding from the video is that the roads they have locked are the private station tracks NOT the public gazetted road. Who maintains these private station tracks. That will answer whether the track is publuc or private.
Well said, reassuring to witness a positive outlook on protection, safety and security. Great you are up to sharing for improvement. Courteous & respectful communication it goes a long way.
Just watched this and am astounded at the negative comments still posted, even after a respectful and informative video that has a simple message of communication. I can’t comprehend the level of risks these people are taking to travel across land to who knows where ?!
New sub here after watching your segment in Landline. You have a very promising intranet project there which should benefit other stations nationwide. Keep going and good luck. From Sydney
This has been a on going issue. IN the 80s used to work for WMC at Weebo . We where always finding trespassers some on who had push over the fence to drive in. Some off who claimed they could not see the big sign or the fence .
People should have access to that much land. Private owners are some of the worst characters on the planet. Most don't even use all of that land or even look after properly. In the UK there is so much private land that is worse for wear because rich owners use it as an investment, rather than care about the conservation. This guy has a 3,835 square kilometre property, you think people are going to drive around it?
Cannot understand why anyone would be so disrespectful and then think they can get away with it. Even if they did not have the phone number a simple courtesy would be to stop at the homestead during normal hours and ask permission. Worst case then you just have to turn around and leave.
Just watched your Landline segment simply awesome great to see you bringing more of the real Australia to us here in in Sydney. How sad that the you cannot get a grant to progress the Farm technology further so all remote areas of this great country can benefit. technology is best when it brings people together.
That’s what I always say WOULD they like it if you just drove into there back yard and walked around ??? No they would have the law there in a few seconds !!! So think folks before you go off road !!!!
What if someone was to enter a pastrol lease and have a vehicle accident. You would have to think there would be insurance issues for the vehicle owner.
Unfortunately, responsibility actually goes to the leaseholder for allowing the person to drive on the road, without explicit warning that the use of the road, or access track was at their own risk. However if the signs state that you are not to enter, and you enter without the explicit permission of the leaseholder or land manager, you are at fault, and would not be able to claim insurance.
Great Video, Nice way of saying be respectfull and dont be a Dik. Out of interest do you get a lot of travellers through your property ? Regards Peter.
Prenti is not really on the way to anything, so its not a regular route. Most of the time when we catch people and question them they usually say "Oh we thought we might just see if we could sneak through anyway" We're also not a tourist station/destination.
I feel for you. We lived on the Fitzroy river in Qld years ago and so many people come in there canoes and brings guns and shoot anything and everything. It was so dangerest at times when mustering on the horse and they don't see you
Safety for sure. When you guys happen camels to shoot, all you really know is where your own people are supposed to be. You don't really know what might be 1/2 mile away downrange.
Great vid Jack As for Ian Jackie Moone. You seem to be well read on the rules or at least the ones you want to stipulate. However what you were not able to read was the guidelines on posting comments and being respectful. If you are indeed a government employee or contractor you have breached a hell of a lot of policies here old mate. Posting defamentry or insulting messages on line whilst claiming to be a government or contractor to...... well mate you may want to read the fine print in your contract. Throw in threatening comments and insinuating you have some influence, mate your in more strife than the early settlers As Joe public, if you are representing the government currently, holy smokes the gene pool is getting low. You mate are too unhinged to represent government. My advice to you is to stop bingeing yellowstone and realise that in a society of where we are struggling to find good young people to work remotely, we need to support them and not shoot them down. So be respectful Ian and be a good bloke or bugger off.
G'day Jack. Q? Is Prenti Downs Road (West) onto Urarey-Warren Bore Road (South) private or public (gazetted) please. I have looked on the app that you had suggested and it's not detailed. Cheers.
The entry ways are not able to have gates put on them. Yes its is a leasehold land. We can do an episode that will explain the levels and differentiation on the tenement rules.
I’m a bit confused by this video, and a genuine question, so are you saying that the named roads like shown on Google maps are actually private? Wondering how anyone would know, is there a resource I could use that shows what is public and what is private so I would know to call ahead as I wouldn’t have thought my Optus phone would work out there, yes I would have a plb but not a day phone
Some roads named on google maps aren't actually roads, we've come across many instances where google actually instructs you to take a fence line, or a re-habilitated road, which will lead you to disaster, HEMA maps is based on old pastoral maps as well, which can cause issues. The best resource for understanding what is a road and what is a station track is to make contact with the local shire, or the leaseholder, and the station will be able to let you know what tracks are ok to travel on as well/ Optus wont work out here, nor will Telstra, the only comms options are starlink and satellite phones.
Easy fixed. Try a flour bag with a note attached? All biodegradeable. See how accurate you can get. I had a friend, Ron Knapp who buzzed the crowds at Darkan Raceway in his Jodel in the 1970's before each race meeting (except in the wet of course). The runway alongside was at Hillman and it was my job to check for dead sheep.
Maybe you should add "You are being watched!" Yes I mean you !! I kid everyone my place has a sign at the gate "This gate is ranged for a 30-06 if you weren't invited don't come in. With bullet hole from the back of course
Cattle stations in Western Australia are private properties. These stations are large rural properties specifically dedicated to raising and grazing cattle. They are owned by individuals, families, or corporations and are used for commercial cattle farming purposes. The owners of these cattle stations have exclusive rights to the land and are responsible for managing and operating the station for their agricultural activities.
@@jack_out_the_back so if a mining company or a prospector wants to do exploration on a patrol leases, are you saying that it is up to the pastoralists to give them the Ok to enter the pastoral station?
No, exploration mining leases and mining leases are different. What they involve is notification and coordination between parties to ensure that all can exercise their leases without harm or hinderance to the other lease holders in the same area.
Prospectors are the worst I was sick of chasing them off, all land is covered by a lease ie mining, pastoral, indigenous etc. Gold is not yours to take from a lease owned by another person. Tourists(grey nomads) are a real risk, sometimes just plain stupid and very cheeky.
I'd pay for access for bush camping . .. Its stupid human sydrome. Its not hard to sit on a hill on the CB till you get contact. Just sayin .. peter falconio body and countless others have never been found ! Dont go stucking your nose in where it dont belong , not everyone is as polite as Jack .
Why not just get the state to make a proper road through there if people keep using it? It's kind of absurd that that much land is owned by one family, cattle station or not. You're going on about heritage, but what you really mean is protecting your private property. It seems there's a need for a shortcut across your land if people are constantly using it. You're property is 3,835 square kilometres, how are people supposed to get around it?
You need to wipe your chin .. with toilet paper. You have little or know understanding of the issue. Can I walk through your back yard ? Oh your tumbled down shed looks interesting .. mind if I have a fossick around ?
