First you are welcome to Oman. The weather is getting cooler by the day in Oman. But if you are from a cold weather country, you might feel the weather like April or May. Any places you are thinking to visit? Of course beside Muscat?
If you don't speak Arabic, it is much better that you have a tour guide. If you make Omani friends, you might be offered free tours by them. The best beaches in Oman are in Muscat such as the spot reserved for hotels as AL bustan, shangri la, Quantab. In al Qurum beach women are not allowed to wear bikini though like the previously mentioned beaches.Near Muscat there is another beach called a'Sawadi beach. There is also Musandam in the North. You can take the ferry to get there.
Perhaps for the hotel though it depends what hotel. Man cheap hotels in Oman have no websites :(. Food is cheep and taxi far as well except if you take the taxi from the airport. Hope you will enjoy your visit

I used to go Pakistan college back in the early 90's. Love Muscat!!! spent my teenage years there! Absoultely loved it! Miss it too much.......

I'd been in Ruwi year 1983-86..it must be a lot of changes now, Al Bustan at that time is already finish, we ate there in buffet at that time.
