My favorite partner for Pidgeot is Exeggutor EX, I run it with 1 Celebi and 1 Erika. Celebi is more of just a wall for the early game to reduce the chances of the Pidgey only start, or if one of my evos is late to the party. I very rarely attack with it, but it has happened haha
Yeah that's another good partner for sure. Egg EX is just so strong if you can find it in the first few turns of the game or pivot into it without being down a point already
Omg. I made this exact deck literally day 2 of mythical island (i just made like 15 pidgeot ex decks lmao). Never expected it was actually good, just thought i was up against noobs lmao.
It's not too bad! I think early days we were all trying some crazy brews but now that things have settled down it's a little easier to play tech cards like Marshadow & Hitmonlee. Might even be better now than it was those first few days!
Been thinking of running a fighting energy Pidgeot deck (with one normal Pidgeot) since you can swap opponent card for a revenge attack or force them to the bench for a Hitmonlee kill. Was also thinking of combining with Aerodactyl Ex but then again they can easily retreat during their turn. Now all I need is a second copy of Pidgeot Ex 😅
The most difficult thing with Aerodactyl is space. There's so many cases you're going to want the Hitmonlee/Marshadow so you almost have to run 2. Gio/Sabrina solve many games. Then Farfetch'd can actually punish 50HP basics or people who refuse to play their bench. I don't think there's much merit to base Pidgeot, but I have also not played it enough.
@NothingButBangersYT There's the idea of swapping the enemies druddigon freely to avoid stalling the game or sniping potential threat's like Vaporeon or seperior. Did think about Tauros but it feels too energy hungry and you don't have way's to bring opponents Ex pokemon health's to exact lethal.
Pigeot EX may be bulky, but so is Blastoise EX, so is Venusaur EX, so is Machamp EX. And none of these decks have become a major threat, because stage 2 pokemon are simply too inconsistent. Even Charizard EX - the trump card of all trump cards - can't break out of tier 2. The stage 2s you find in the best decks are all supporting pokemon: Greninja, Gardevoir, Serperior. I think there are two reasons for this. Firstly, since they're not your main attacker, your deck still functions without them; it's just less powerful. But that less powerful version still might win 25% of the time or so, bumping the overall winrate up. And secondly, you don't have to store any energy on them. If you topdeck your supporting stage 2, it starts working instantly, and it never stole energy from your backup gameplan. Pigeot EX does have one great thing going for it though, which is lots of deckbuilding flexibility. If there's ever a core of solid basics or tech cards (like fighting box), Pigeot EX will be able to use that. And if there's ever a pokemon released that greatly supports stage 2s, you can be sure Pigeot EX will take advantage of it.
There's so many good things to touch on with this comment, from supporting pokemon to future partners. I'd pushback a little and say Blastoise EX at least has found some decent placements, Arcazard was just in finals of Ursi and 2 Charizard variants in Top 4 of PLL. Those two Stage 2's have ramp (Moltres/Misty) though so it's hard to compare to Pidgeot EX. The way I look at this deck, Pidgeot EX is your finisher/sweeper after Hitmonlee/Marshadow soften things. One of the few decks that can force 1-1-2 prize games, but it's hard to overcome the current Celebi/M2/Pika/Gyarados decks and they are in a different class.
@NothingButBangersYT "Some decent placements" sounds exactly like tier 2 :p You're not surprised if you see tier 2 decks in top 8, but they're still not favorites to win going into the tournament. Arcizard is high tier 2 imo, but tier 2 nonetheless. I dunno enough about Blastoise to have much of an opinion.
lol I was trying to be modest, but thats pretty impressive to be placing that high at such a low play-rate in two of the bigger tourneys. Tiers are tough, but IMO the deck can win big tourneys just like the other tier 1 decks. Some of these winners are going the entire tourney without seeing a hard counter. Imagine this deck dodging all the water decks and yeah it could definitely win.
@haneefwilson7406 I run it 2 dome fossil 2 kabuto 1 kabutops 2 Pidgeot EX line 1 chatot to help draw into Pidgeot line 1 Sabrina, 1 flute, 1 Giovanni 2 research, 1 x speed, 1 pokeball, 1 potion Played around with a few cards so much and finally settled on this winning majority of my games. I'm thinking to swap the potion for a red card to counter the opponent keeping cards in their hand to counter Pidgeot. Chatot works a treat exactly because of this to find everything you need consistently.
I have a question about this deck, if you don't mind. Why is Pidgeot the topend of the deck? I know that sounds weird, but I'm comparing Pidgeot to Machamp and trying to figure out what Pidgeot does that makes it worth running over Machamp, who has more health, consistenely hits harder, and is in the same type. Is it about the retreat cost?
Yeah that’s a good question. I’d say Pidgeot EX has 10 less HP, but the trade off of cheaper retreat and can OHKO mewtwo with gio matters. Then you’ve got the fact Pidgeot can actually cover its weakness too. Machamp on curve is still one of the strongest openers in the game though, so that should sort of hint at how strong Pidgeot can be.
@@NothingButBangersYT Thank you! That makes a lot of sense to me. For a while, I just never tried Pidgeot with Fighting decks because of the Machamp thing, but now that you laid that out, I can see Pidgeot has things that make it stand out from Machamp. I'll have to give it a try!
thanks for another banger video! gonna try it out the deck. I havent played pidgeot yet so excited to play it.
It's a pretty fun deck! Lots of cool things you can pair with it too

Very fun! Would definitely jam some games with it
Another banger I have actually been trying both pidgeotto's and melmetal
Oh wow not together right? I tried melmetal but man it just felt so slowww

Shoot if I have Pidgeot EX I just ram through the Drudds lol. Otherwise I just snipe with Hitmonlee so I don't mind Drudd too much.
@NothingButBangersYT True. Anyways, this is a nice build you got and can't wait to try it out (thanks for the upload and keep it up) .
Thanks! Good luck cooking and hope you get some fun W's!

When playing Beheeyem pidgeot EX then I would slot 1 red card in case they hold on to their basics. Especially good with open decklists.
Honestly...the move might be to play Red Card in every deck you play Pidgeot EX. Especially if you're playing snipers or Beheeyem
lookin tan my man 👍
lol thank you
Im all about Pidgeot Kabutops
@@xSoulWind share decklist please
Sounds spicy!
@haneefwilson7406 I run it
2 dome fossil
2 kabuto
1 kabutops
2 Pidgeot EX line
1 chatot to help draw into Pidgeot line
1 Sabrina, 1 flute, 1 Giovanni
2 research, 1 x speed, 1 pokeball, 1 potion
Played around with a few cards so much and finally settled on this winning majority of my games.

@xSoulWind thanks but it seems like one card is missing. Should it be one kabutops or 2?
@@haneefwilson7406 just one. You can remove the x speed for it if you like. But I found the second mostly a dead card it's tightly optimised
