Inside Pro Surfing: Lexus WSL Finals 2024

After nine regular season events, the Lexus WSL Finals brings the top 5 men and top 5 women in professional surfing to Lower Trestles for a one-day, winner-take-all, showdown for the coveted title of World Champion. From Pipeline and Portugal to Teahupo'o and Cloudbreak, it has been a hard fought season for the world's best surfers. Ten surfers enter, and only two will emerge as Champions and add their name to the legacy of the sport.

Final 5 is ok …but come on! Guys have been working their whole lives, finally qualify and you kick them out half way through!!!!! They didn’t even get into a groove they earned their year

Personally, im not a big fan of the final 5. I think that it would be more exciting if the person with the most points at the end of the year won the title like how it was 2019 and prior.

So glad John John won. Italo has talent, obviously!. He just doesn't have a surfers mindset. We never saw Kelly punching walls and flexing. snap,snap,360...snap,snap,360...yawn. The true champion won.
