Can't wait to give this a try. Moved from South to Central FL last year, and I'm looking forward to using the train to travel south to see friends and family. The drive on the turnpike has gotten tedious and frustrating. Good tip on the ridesharing.
i am actually taking the brightline from fort lauderdale to orlando to go to disney for christmas with my grand daughter and daughter but we booked the smart now i think i want the premium
Brightline needs to work on these problems…..fast! The thing with trains as opposed to planes is that people are used to flying planes, so they can withstand mistakes such as failure to arrive on time, provide ground transportation, etc. But the stakes are higher for Brightline because the future of High Speed Rail in America depends on its success and if it has problems, then Americans will continue to drive or fly and HSR will fail.
I take I 95 and 92 from Delray Beach to.Disney and Gas doesn't run me more than $55 round trip. And I don't have to wait for an Uber or pay for travel services once I get to new Orlando area.. I'm free to make my early morning stop at giggins and then onto the parks. And if I need a Hotel for the night, the Rosen inn is right around the corner from Disney Springs on Palm Dr. for $60. Can't wait for Buc-ee's to open in Fort Pierce so I can make a breakfast Stop On. the Way.
This was a phenomenal video about the Brightline service! Thanks so much for sharing a detailed, first-hand experience. It really helped me understand the different seating selections and other offerings on board, as well as what the premiere service includes. My husband and I do hope to take this new train service someday, and thanks to your video I am definitely more intrigued about the potential experience than I was prior. I really appreciate your video. Many thanks ❤☀️
I don’t see the ROI of this if you are having to pay for 3+ tickets considering parking & ride share costs. Premium makes even less sense as that’s more than an airline ticket from FLL/MIA to MCO. The expansion to Tampa will be interesting as that makes more sense to Disney but certainly not to south Florida.
Question please: Does a bus or SunRail connect from the Orlando airport to Disney or Universal? I think with a healthy appetite, and extra time needed to take advantage of the value added perks, the $70 extra for premium could be worthwhile. Better lounge with plenty of good food as well as food on the train. Having a double alcohol beverage twice and an included rideshare have value. You would encounter a better class of riders with 1+2 wider and reclinng seating. Premium class perks, like two stiff ones, could double the worth of the experience over Smart class.
No bus service yet just the ride share And I am Going to try premium there next time. Always traveled on the Brightline that way before and no issues with the other passengers so idk of that’s why.
You can take the city bus to international Drive, that’s at least partway to Disney and I think it goes to Disney Springs. Also, you have to research it more of the city bus schedule, which is called Lynx. Links from the airport and cost only around two dollars. I took it from the airport international drives so I can go to the water theme park.
@@MainStreetMomentsBrightline has some nicely discounted fares currently. Premium fare West Palm to Orlando is $50 off at $99. Smart fares are down to $59 from $79 plus 50% off from WP for $29.50.
Very nice video. I really appreciate the realness of the video. Most just have some fast talking golden voice actor type with way too edited video that doesn’t showing the walking paths you took.
I think you can’t compare the cost of the ticket just to the gas because you use more than gas when you drive, car, insurance, the oil, wear and tear on the tires, etc. plus when you drive at least most people when they drive become a bit stressed and worn. But on the training you can get up and stretch if you need to do to help your circulation and get some work done, instead of just sitting down, talk to their companion, or watch a movie on the train. To be fair, it’s sometimes cost more than the train ticket if you ride the train such as the ride to catch the train unless somebody drops you off. I met one woman on my return to that just had a seven minute ride to where she lives from the airport in Orlando and someone was picking her up. It also depends what you’re doing when you arrive on the train. Some people are just taking cruises and there’s a free shuttle to the port other people with. And doing many different things in the city with a big family might want the car. For me when I travel to a new city such I did I just want to see tourist things like the museum or relax as a beachcomber I don’t need my car for that I had the free electric bus I heard it’s also in some of the other cities
You can't trust the bright line schedule because the train often comes in late for various reasons.. Not worth it in my book unless they lower the price to $65 round trip! And even then you're still without a car when you get to WDW
So I’m just wondering what was the difference in terms of hours driving versus taking the train. How long would it normally take you to drive. Great video.
Wow I didn't expect people to be stealing people's seats and to be rud about it. Thanks for the heads up
I’m a nice guy - but 1000000% I’m standing there and telling them they have to leave. Wtf
I find it amazing that a country that professes to be a modern 1st world country is making such a big deal about an ordinary train.
GREAT informative video, Brian! Sorry you had some hiccups but glad it all worked out and thanks for sharing everything about your experience!
Thanks 👍
Kudos. Thank you. 😊

Yes it is much better
Nice thanks for sharing Brian
Cleanliness and modernity is nice, but 30 minutes behind schedule is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. This is a transportation service after all.
It’s usually on time :) but I agree
Great video!!! I hope one day to have this from north Florida to WDW...not to have to deal with traffic or driving at night is worth it for us.
Hope it comes your way!

I would be ride on bus to Disney springs from brightline train.

That works for you, but not everybody Enjoys driving the expressway.
Phase 3 For Brightline East (Original Brightline) Will Extended To Add Stations To PortMiami, Disney, & Tampa (Tampa Bay) So Next Time You Will See
Finally can put a face to your voice. I only listened to your podcasts on here prior.
😀
Probably better guests in the premium section.

When are they adding the 2nd platform in Boca Raton’s Station?

Considering gas and tolls it was about 50$ more for me…or so..:it is worth it to me to avoid the driving but for a family can get $$$
I believe a family four pack is $199 each way. Not bad.
If I have to.
The whole seat issue is annoying.Majority it's ahole people.Brightline does screw up sometimes especially with new stops and addition of trains.

@@davidjackson7281 you’re welcome. I did make a mistake. The bus service is called Lynx not links. It has a symbol of a paw print.
Why were you late arriving?
How close to the MCO airport is Brightline? Like could you rent a small car for the day?
It’s connected to it so yes you can rent a car there
It’s in terminal C of the airport and you can even get there from terminal and be by riding the people mover
Do they have a parking lot in Orlando?
Yes

Do you feel that without a car, you would need to carry everything around the parks all day, or do you get a locker for your stuff?
What things who do you need to carry around besides water and may be a miniature rain poncho?
You can also carry a small backpack for taking snacks
Looking at several of these videos, they seem to always be late. I wish they would over estimate the arrival time if this is normally the case
How does the cost of the ticket compare to the gas you would use?

does uber pickup just ouside the terminal?
They do, but like he said, book through the app not through Brightline.
People are so rude
Did I miss the part about how long it took? I’m sorry.
All schedules are posted on the Bright Line website

Normally door to door takes me 3 hours or so…if I stop on the hwy 3.5 hours…the train was about the same total
