If you want to build a more functional movement for a lineman...DON'T do bench presses with your elbows out. You do not want to flair your elbows out as a lineman, you want your elbows in close to your body. So bench press the same way!
Rotate variations .... bench press normal , bench press wide ... do it all - you don't always block perfect ... sometimes in a messy game you'll reach and you don't wanna be weak - avoid over use injuries

What to you recommend for weight gain?
1) calorie surplus . BW x 20 = cals / day
2) strength training w eccentric focus 3-5x/ week
3) sleep

For big guys .... 4-6 rep range is pretty challenging for building maximal back strength

How to maximize explosiveness? Sprinting is the best, then jumps if you’re @ home w no equipment
