Hi Michelle! Great to see you so pumped! Ever since seeing Hailey Mills in The Parent Trap, (I'm dating myself big time!), I've loved imposter stories. And while the story I've written is very different from yours, (I'm writing women's fiction), there is an imposter in it. Can't wait to see how your book comes together. Man, you're impressive! Seven books this year and then some -- WOWZER! By the way, I found some exercises to heal my writer's elbow, so I'm racing along again with my book. Having a super time with it. Have a fun December!
Ohh I LOVED the original Parent Trap as a kid!! What a classic - and probably at the root of my 'imposter love' too! :) I'm so glad to hear your elbow is doing better, and that you're having fun with that book!!! Hooray!
Another fabulous and inspiring video - thank you! Am in the midst of trying to complete my December drafting goals with my MG WIP. Your insights help tremendously.
Well, that second NaNo book is at 90 pgs (technically just starting a scene break at 90 as I have only just finished 89 and have yet to write further). Funny thing is, I just realised today that beyond making notes of a couple key plot points per character (their goals and whatnot) I have been pantsing this whole book. 😂 I think it's because the outlines I kept making for how book 1 would end kept changing to the point that i pantsed the ending and got something better than i expected. So I've been pantsing this one without even realising it, which is a good thing, because I was struggling with thinking if how to tie the last book's antagonists in with this book, despite the fact that there's a new main antagonist, because just ending the last book with "bad guy's gone" didn't sit well with me. And just last night I tied the two books together via one of the antagonists in book 1 in a way I never saw coming that just happens to make the plot if book 2 sooo much stronger. 😍 So yeah, I think I discovered that pantsing a zero draft is my way to go. Outlining is best when just writing the first draft when I want everything to be as "perfect" as it can be in one go. Anyway. Hope your weekend goes well. Thanks for the update and the Rosa content. (Love that the pup found a puppy friend❤)
Unexpected pantsing ftw! :D That's so cool - I'm so happy it's working for you. (I didn't mention this in the video but I'm ~hoping~ that once I have that beat sheet,, I'll be able to zero draft each beat, rather than write an outline...fingers crossed that's the sweet spot for me!) Hope you have a great weekend too!
I'm first! I'm first! :D LOL If I tell someone about my WIP in detail, I never finish, because the story has been told. !!!! That's why I'm a "headlights" planner, only going 3 chapters ahead at any given time. I know my target, but if I do a full "outline" before hand I no longer want to write the story. I told it in the outline. LOL Have a great day!
That's so interesting, Regina! I wonder if that's the way most pantsers feel in regards to telling someone else about their story. The way you put it makes a lot of sense!
I'm definitely the same way. I can't do a full outline because I need some mystery about my story to keep me going, and because nothing I outline ever set in stone, so coming up with a grand story from start to finish is a bit of a waste of time for me when one scene can literally change everything.😬

I'm trying to look at you but this shadow over your outlet looks just like an eye! It's staring me!
omg lol!!

Thanks so much, Neil! Keep going with that draft -- you can do it!
Cool video! Love your ideas in the process.
Thanks so much, Marva! I hope your writing is going well!

OF COURSE I GASPED IT'S SUCH A GOOD IDEA!!!
~muppet flailing~
Looking good for plotting! I love how excited you are to get this idea on paper!
Thanks, Joey! :D

@@kanashiiookami6537 Yes!!! I totally agree! :D
Poor Rosa that overslept :)
So weird!! Usually she bounces on the bed and starts nibbling my arm as soon as the sun comes up!
