I have searched for instructions like this in the past, but never have I found such clear, easy instructions. Thank you. Bought mine maybe 10 years ago and have used it on occasion, but did not have it threaded correctly and now I can enjoy it.
This is so great!!! This is my mom's Serger from way back in the day and never really thought I'd get it going again but I did!!! Thanks so much, and great to have the manual so thanks for that info too!!!
Thanks so much for this video. I bought my serger at Goodwill and wasn't even sure it would work. It came with it's manual, but I didn't get the threading right. Fortunately, I googled and came across your video. Awesome!
Thank you so much. I have this model machine and I found your video so helpful. A little giddy from the camera work but so grateful for your support. 👍
Very good instruction guide . I recently bought 3 of these and 14 other sewing machines at a local school that is discontinuing their home economics program. It’s a shame for the students but I’m treasuring the servers . Can’t wait to try mine. Now that thanks to you I understand it . Thank you
Thanks so much for the threading use of this video. I purchased mine from the daughter of the lady that did our taxes since she had passed. Never used one and I've been wanting one. This video was soooo helpful because I have to go back and restring mine cause I did it wrong. Thanks again
Thanks for the video. I inherited the machine from my brother-in-law's mother. Never used one before but your instructions were great and it is threaded up and producing a chain stitch!
Wow that was so useful as I bought that same one had such a struggle threading but so so helpful and I never had an overlocker before thank u so much for sharing
I bought this exact Serger at an estate sale today, and I can't begin to thank you enough for this instructional video. I was afraid I'd never find any online help for an old machine. Though I've sewn with a sewing machine for many, many years, this is my first serger. It is missing the foot pedal/cord which I've ordered. After watching your video, I'm anxious to begin using it. Thank you again!
This looks incredibly similar to the U32a that I was recently given. Thanks for sharing! I think my machine is ad old as me xD but it's vintage and well-built. Most notably HEAVY and no carrying handle or grip
@@pindropshopThank you so much for the video! I've been looking for a video for this exact machine! It was given to me years ago, so I have no manual. Also, I wanted to add that this machine requires ROUND SHANK needles, which are hard to find...I found Organ brand on Amazon. Recommended tension?
Got this machine for 29.99 at goodwill yesterday and learning how to thread it with this video. Thank you. Hoping to use it purely for overstitching done I work with a ton of linen that loves to fray, but I just need to thread it first 🙂 fingers crossed!
Thank you very much for this video I inherited similar machine from my sister! I managed to threat it but the threads keep braking , should I replace all the threads please?
Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Yes, if you're having problems I would always recommend rethreading the entire thing. If threads are breaking, it could be that your tensions are too tight. Check that they are all at 4 (or the recommended default tension for your machine.).
Mine was sewing fine until i broke a needle. had to contact local quilt shop to find needles for it. now i can't get it to continue chaining. its missing stiches for some reason. your video was helpful thanks
I have this, I plan to sell it as well. I bought it from my local sewing machine repair guy, in a hurry to fix a girls prom dress that was needed right away. I normally sew on Singer treadles which won't take stretchy or polyester dress fabrics. It worked beautifully with the thin nylon thread but a nightmare with cotton. I ordered new needles and expensive 80wt thread and I still can't make a simple cotton knit headband with it. Want mine? LOL.
Wonder if you can change some settings and get a nice stitch with the cotton. I had to play with this one a little bit to get it looking good. I was actually just using the needle and the thread it came with, some kind of cotton serger thread. Interesting that you have this too! I had never seen this one before!
@@pindropshop I have been doing all I can to get it to cooperate. Just when I think I've got it the needle thread pops off. I think I might sell it off and put whatever I get towards a sewing/embroidery machine...... but those scare me too. I think I paid $160 for mine, I bet you got yours for a waaaay better price!
Hiya iv got the same singer overlocker which I have had for years.but I'm saving up for a 4 thread to sew knit fabric.please could you tell me what tension number do you put yours on .xx
Hello, thanks for watching! I had them set at 7, 6, and 3 for this one. When you get your new one your manual will tell you where to set them for each stitch. Hope that helps! :)
I would start with how I have them all set up on this video. Then you will need to look at your stitch and compare to how a stitch is supposed to look. Depending on what is wrong with it, there are adjustments to make it right.
I have an identical model but can’t find a manual. Any suggestions? Your video is very helpful. I like your long spout oiler. Where can I buy one? Thanks for the well done video. Rita
Hello, the manual is available for free on Singer's website. I am not sure where you can buy these oilers. Mine came with one of my other machines from Juki.
Yes, you could make patches with this. Just cut a piece of fabric and serge all the way around the outside. You could turn the stitch length dial almost all the way down to get really tight thread coverage around the outside.
Hello! The needle holder for inserting needles is actually just a tiny hole that was drilled into the end of the brush that came with one of my other machines. They sell them at SewingPartsOnline for 2.99 USD under the name Lint Brush With Needle Inserter, Juki 40065952
@@pindropshop Thank you) I meant the machine element itself, which holds the needle in place with a screw. In the old one, there is no longer a thread for screwing in and because of this, the needle is not fixed in the machine.
