Dani, I knew you'd love this song. "Endless Love" by Diana Ross & Lionel Richie was #1 for 8 weeks in 1981. This song probably holds the record for being played at more weddings than any other song. It is considered one of the most beautiful love songs of all-time and one of the greatest duets of all-time.
..growing up, Brooke Shields lived only minutes by car from my house..I was lucky to get invited by a friend to a party at her house..this was just after Endless Love came to cable tv and needless to say I was smitten..but at 16 years old..I didn't have the courage to talk to her..but she said hi to us at her party..sweet girl
These are real good shows to start the holidays with. Everyone loved to see Brooke on T.V One of the last girls to go overseas with Bob Hope for the USO.A lot of her and Bob on TH-cam.
It's a beautiful song no doubt. Lionel Richie was a love song writing machine back in the day. The song is actually, and unfortunately, the highlight of the film which received poor reviews. Even the author of the novel it is based off of criticized it. It pains me to say that because Franco Zeffirelli is actually one of my all-time favorite directors. Zeffirelli had a knack for painting a pretty picture on screen so it doesn't surprise me that clips from the film make for a compelling music video for the title track. Oh well. At least the song is great and was a huge hit nominated for an Oscar and Grammy. When I was a teenager, this song was a staple for every junior high school dance, etc. LOL! NOTE: Don't let my post about the movie stop you from watching the movie, of course. Here's a fun fact: Endless Love (1981) is the film debut of Tom Cruise. He has a brief scene as "Eddie".
That is 15 or 16 year old Brooke Shields in 1981. She had been turned into a sex symbol even before that in movies from the age of 12. At 14, she made those "naughty" Calvin Klein commercials. She weathered those premature pressures, graduated from Princeton, and became an adult actress and very successful comedian on sitcoms, including her own, Suddenly Susan, 1996-2000.
unfortunately there will never be another love song like this ever written again. nor a true romantic movie where a woman falls deeply in love with the man of her dreams. apparently its just too "toxic" for todays "Woke" culture...sad.
Yes hello it's me again hey there yes I like the song two thumbs up but you can't have it for your wedding sorry you have to put Elvis Presley for your wedding more like Let Me Tender from Canada Toronto Scarborough Ontario Carl Supertramp Garnett hide in your shell ain't got time anymore by glass bottles Kentucky Rain by Elvis Presley have a nice day Carl PS and I hope the best for your wedding

It was #1 for 9 weeks.
Weddings and every junior high school Valentine's dance or high school prom.
Not sure why that said "1984" but it was released earlier, in 1981.
Beautiful song.
Diana and Lionel could sing the phone book and make it sound romantic. Thank you so much Dani ❤
This was our wedding song in 1983. Still married!!!
Another song and film from the 80s is the film ice castles and the song from the movie, through the eyes of love by Melissa Manchester

Before whitney houston and Kevin Costner did the body gaurd
It was going to be Diana Ross and Tim Ryan or Ryan O'Neil
This was considered to be one of the best love songs ever
Until Whitney houston I will always love you
From the Body gaurd
Still better than Houston's song-by far.

This song is sublimely beautiful and timeless, unlike the Taylor Swift trash that makes it to number 1 these days.
Disagree with your comment Angelina’s version is better !!!!!
Who the hell is Angelina?
