    I’m getting this one for the kiddos. Probably going to watch your videos a lot. I’m not good at projects like this!

      It’s not too difficult. The hardest part was a getting it tight enough. I do a better job explaining that in this video here:
      th-cam.com/video/aB-Mr7WgR3M/w-d-xo.html
      Although I’m setting it up a bit different in that video, the basic principles still apply.

      @@FunsizedAdventures I got it set up, tightening is next to impossible. I got it working but need to make it tighter and I used all the force my body has.

      Sorry to hear that. When I set my zipline up again in the spring I’m going to make a full video just about getting the zipline tight as I’ve learned a bit after doing it several times and it’s hard to explain with just text. For now though, the thing that helped me the most was attaching one of the clamps to the end of the line so it’s easier to grip and pull while you put the other clamps on. Also, it doesn’t have to be really tight. As long as no one is hitting the ground along the way, you’re good to go. A little slack in the line actually helps slow you down better at the end as effectively makes the line go uphill towards the end.

    Wow! We need one of those! We have the monkey line from amazon but think the kids will like this better. (Do have an external mic for your GoPro? Which one?)

    • @FunsizedAdventures
      @FunsizedAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My kids love it!
      No external mic. I’ve been impressed with the built in mics on the hero 8. I had previously used one of the cheaper shotgun mics on amazon with my iPhone 8+ before I had the GoPro but to my ear the GoPro mic sounds better than that did.

    We’re going to have to upgrade to a backyard with more than one tree before my son discovers zip lining...

    • @FunsizedAdventures
      @FunsizedAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adventures with Austin, I grew up with a little yard that had exactly 3 trees in it. One time I even built a zipline between two of them out of a clothesline rope and pulley I found in the garage. My mom caught me just as my little brother was about to test it out. 🤣 I’m glad I get to raise my boys where there’s no shortage tree and rocks. Thanks for watching!

      @@FunsizedAdventures Nice! I was kinda hoping you were gonna say it worked perfectly, but now you have a real one so I guess it worked out in the end😉

    I am losing my mind getting the top line tight. 100 ft zipline, 10 foot high to get the right slope. Pulling it tight is borderline impossible.

    • @FunsizedAdventures
      @FunsizedAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s definitely not easy, especially if you’re doing it alone. This year when I set it up again I found a good system. I’ll link that video below. Some of it might help.
      The main tip I could give you is this:
      Fasten one of the clamps to the wire right near the end. That will give you something to grip when pulling. Then clamp the two wires together with the second clip wherever you can reach. Place the third close to the tree and then move the first two to their final locations. Much easier that way then trying to put them in the right spot to begin with.
      I hope that helps!

    They don't include instructions so they can blame you for any errors.

      🤣🤣🤣 I recently got the latest kit from this company and they had very detailed instructions so whatever the cause they seem to have rectified it. Weird side note: they actually use this video and others I’ve made on their website to explain how to assemble it.

      They’re both very much alive but good point. Always be sure the trees you use are alive and healthy.
