I had fissure years ago. I cured by doing all these.
I used everyday in the night (before you sleep) stool softner brand name called Cloace. Better if you take this exact same time in the night. Other brands didnt work.
I fixed a hand biddey( can buy it from amazon) to the toilet bowl to use lot of water when I pass poo. When I use the hand bidey little at a time, it sprays water and wet the anus, helps to pass it without irritating the skin. Thats the most important thing not to get skin ripped.
Also I apply baby oil to the place before I start passing poop. It helps a lot. Also I apply baby oil after I am done too. To keep the place moist.
I made sure to do motions everyday at the same time. Please drink a mug full of milk or smoothie or water before. Then you get the urge to go but I know because of the pain you tend to avoid it, but that helps more your poop to dry in the rectum. Stool softener helps to pass it pain freely in the morning.
Ate lot of Kale, Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli. Its a must.
All these cruciferous veggies helps to pass the stools easily.
    Never skip this routine.
    You will see the results,
Hope you all will pain free by following this.

@BethMurphyLife thank you for your note with kind words . Keep doing. When you are fully recovered, only you can stop taking stool softner. But keep doing the other things even if you get better. Apply oil is a must. Doing motions once every day helps a lot. Don't postpone doing it even after you get better.

In the case of haemorrhoids or anal fissures you ought not to have a painful bowel movement with extreme pain. So you should avoid any stool pressure and bleeding due to hard stool. In order to keep off this one take regularly 1 tablespoon castor oil early in the morning on an empty stomach; 1 to 2 hours after having swallowed this dosage you will have an easy bowel movement without any pain.

Ok Dr. Chung, I will absolutely be incorporating this more into my regimen. I learned that I have a super hypertonic pelvic floor and that that is causing a delay in healing for my fissure. I have a question for you though. I’m sure you are aware of the Bristol stool chart and that often there is more than one type of stool even in one sitting. (Perhaps you could do a video on this as well?)
For those of us who are trying to only have 1 BM a day, (I do this by consuming low quantities of high calorie food, i.e., nuts and eggs) do you have any suggestions for how to keep the stool that has been in the final descending portion of the large intestine from having so much water pulled out that it exits as painful type 1 stool? I find that it’s always the initial bit of a movement that creates pain and re-tearing, but the rest is perfect type 4. Trying to figure out how to do it without the solution being to just have more BMs in the day as I can really only handle the pain of one. Thoughts?

I did these exercises for a couple of months and then developed proctalgia fugax, which I’d never experienced before. It was actually one of the most painful experiences I’ve had in my lifetime. Sometimes it struck in the middle of the night. There was no staying in bed when it struck. Each episode lasted for 10-30 minutes. I quit doing the exercises and the proctalgia fugax resolved.

Hi Dr Chung. I have just had 2 Hemorrhoids banded and I am on the mend after 4 days, I hope anyway!. Still been very careful how I get up and move about. My issue is prior to the procedure and even more now is how I get pain in my bottom, I'm guessing from my external sphincter muscle and Hemorrhoids when I slip or have to suddenly correct my posture for some reason. I am quite an active person and still fit and strong. There seems to be an involuntary shock tightening of this area which can then cause days of pain and aggravate my Hemorriods. Is this a weakness in these muscles that is the problem? is this common? Thanks you.
