Arent you the seattle or norcal dhalsim/IM/Sent player? I think you helped magnetro with the dhalsim dvd right? How come there is no MvC2 videos on your channel? :(
@@aminoobatmarvel Yeah, I was a Seattle Dhalsim player that mostly played that team. Back when I used to play, TH-cam wasn't much of a thing and my capture device was pretty crap (to the point that when capturing stuff for the Dhalsim DVD, Magnetro would just recapture for better quality). I think I only ever made 3 Marvel 2 videos (Dhalsim 1, Dhalsim 2, and a Zangief airthrow assist video). They were hosted by ZachD and later uploaded here by someone else, so I didn't see the point of putting them up. Some of my later knowledge went into the Dhalsim DvD, and some never really got captured. I've been toying with the idea recently of making a new video, especially now that we know more about unfly, etc. than in 2005-2006. I think I really want to make this, but it's just that work has been crazy recently and I probably won't have the time or energy for a little while to get to it. I actually feel like I can find some new stuff now that we have a little better understanding of the system. =)
@@TZMurakumo I knew it was you! I remember watching you play in some casual matches vs Preppy and others, what happened to the Seattle scene? It used to be one of the strongest scenes along with Cali and NY, what happened to JMar, Rowtron, Rattana and the others? (Rattana was from the Seattle scene right?) Sorry for the questioing, I used to follow the MvC2 scene from afar back in 2005-2009 (God bless preppy and Zachd.com), and seeing a new video by Magnetro and you on the comments, add to that MvC2 being planned on the next Evo, brought some nostalgia and excitement. Hope you do end up making that video, I think even an educational video of showing the technical aspects of the new findings would be awesome. I can feel a resurgence of MvC2 coming, at least i hope for one.
@@aminoobatmarvel I think there's still a small scene of people who play, and a larger scene of people that wish they still played it more. It still seems universally appreciated if not played as much. Everyone has great memories of Marvel 2. I'm not sure what everyone's up to now (and yes, Rattana was also Seattle), but I see some of the people occasionally when I'm visiting back. I haven't really been around much since early/mid 2007 (moved to Japan, then Korea, then Vermont for grad school, then Japan again, where I've been for about 10 years this time). I know a couple of the old players took the Guile advice and are family men now, but I deactivated my Facebook and social media stuff back around the New Year, so I don't really see much of what people are up to now. I'd love to get a Marvel session going when I visit back next (whenever that is... stupid Corona). There's a little gastro pub in North Seattle called Coindexter's that has a pretty nice Marvel 2 cab. If I could find a consistent group of good players out here, it would still be my go-to game. I don't think I've played another fighting game as fun as Marvel 2 was.
Good call. Not just the sound effects either, but also the games Anti Aliasing taking a hit when too much is on screen (u can clearly see it on the HUD), something DC version doesnt suffer from. Yeah its seems like alot of these videos were made using the PS2. Wish these would redone on DC version (or an equivalent) someday. These are really informative resources.
So Zangief has a glitch with his super where he can make any DHC unblockable??? Am I reading this right? EDIT: I guess tons of other shit does this, sorry I'm pretty new to this game lol.
Well with the game now rerereleased on modern platforms you get to learn and experience it all. I actually main Gief but mostly for his lariat assist in mech or ground throw in normal form with Felicia to help set her up for mad combos.
See this is what I mean by using low tier with top tier assists make the low tier good. It makes me sad to think that pros ban assists like doom rocks or pysblade in low tier tournaments. Imagine the potential we could be seeing..
we NEED MvC2: Gief Hits Vol 2!!!
This game should really still be played more! =)
It needs to come back. And balanced some. Megaman and Ryu could use some buffs

I think Amigo has potential. Teach us the ways of the cactus.

Sounds like this is the PS2 version with those sound effects.

Still waiting lol
